I'm sorry, I just can't take "Terp Nation" seriously.

Prior to the 2014 OSU game when OSU fans occupied 60% of their stadium, they hadn't had a sell out since 2007.

We took over their stadium this year.

Michigan's program in 2014 was showing a major drop in attendance that would have really been ugly this year had Hoke not been replaced with Harbaugh.

The DC area has lots of people, about  eight or nine million, give or take, and if Durkin can put a good product on the field, it wouldn't surprise me to see their fan base start showing up.

Dear Terp Nation Forum,

I never thought I would write a letter like this, but recently I had an experience that changed my life. So I'm in my apartment - just me and my roommate's girlfriend - and it's about 1:30 AM...

...Needless to say, I had to move immediately, I never spoke to my roomate again, and that couch will never be the same.

DJ Durkin

I posted the quote because it makes it sound like Harbaugh is looking to hire a DC from outside the program. There has been speculation that Jackson could be promoted to DC with Partridge going to LB's. Jackson wouldn't be "as good as DJ" in my opinion. So hopefully this is good news that Jim is going for the homerun hire.

Durkin was scheming a top ten defense in the SEC before coming aboard here and Jackson just doesn't have that type of experience. He will probably have to leave Michigan to get a coordinator gig and maybe after he does that he could come back when we next have an opening, granted he succeeds wherever he goes. I'm thinking Lance Anderson is what we end up with, with Pruitt going back to Alabama. We probably would've been able to snag Pruitt if Alabama didn't have an opening, which is unfortunate because he seems like the type of young, energetic up-and-comer who recruits his ass off that we could use to replace Durkin. I've heard Houston re-tooled Herman's contract, throwing a lot more money at him to stay there, but does anyone know if this includes raises for his assistants, Re: Orlando? He seems like a quality get as well.

He looks like a manager at McDonald's in that shirt. Was seriously my first thought. Also, no way on earth that Byrd Stadium has ever been that full. (Ed: just saw that this picture might have been from their osu game. That now makes way more sense.)

Now I'm pissed off all over again.  From the article...

"Durkin’s immediate impact in Ann Arbor has also been displayed in player development. "

The paragraph following that sentence contains no mention of linebackers.  You know, the position the DJ was actually responsible for coaching.  Lots of love for the DB's and DL though.  Which he had nothing to do with.

Asshole.

Maryland's recruiting could be a lot worse after 2-10, 4-8, 7-6,7-6, 3-9.

Maryland is never going to win a Big Ten championship -ever, but getting rid of Randy Edsall and hiring Durkin at least gives them a fighting chance to do some property damage to the conference.

I don't understand the Durkin vitriol. Prior to 12 noon last Saturday, he was a defensive wizard. Now he's the bastard son of GERG and Justin Boren. I know we're not used to our assistants actually being coveted by anyone, but it's not the end of the world.

What a strawman.  I'm not comparing him to Urban, I'm using Urban as an example of the fact that every coach produces an absolute dud now and then.

You, on the other hand, say he's Gerg Part Duex despite the fact that he's coordinated 3 absolute ass-kicking defenses in 3 years.  I'm done.

What are you Durkin's wife or something?  His defenses gave up over 300 rushing yards to 2 of the last 3 opponents.  That's Gerg-esque.  Plus he was working under a very good defensive coach at Florida so who knows how much their defense was actually Durkin.

Because. He's not at Michigan anymore. He's fair game for my hate of all things not Michigan. Which, part of that is that he was here for (less than) a year. I don't associate him too much with what I love, therefore I am going to hate him with every ounce of my being even if he's a decent human being because football.
