you haven't been watching.  Rudock is accurate and uses good judgment almost always.  Many of his throws like the almost touchdown to Houma and the touchdown to Smith were perfect.  He is more than good enough, even if he is not great.  If he starts hitting a few of the long passes, his numbers will be quite good.  I still think that will come.  He is getting closer.

Rudock is accurate?  Did you forget to type a /s in there?  Even the throws he does complete are usually way behind the reciever and cost valuable YAC.  That's when he isn't throwing it directly to the other team or lofting it off the mark to a covered receiver.

Rudock played his worst game out of 3 today, he really struggled.

I'm still with you that he's a work in-progress and should develop over the season.  He has the tools, the smarts and has shown some flashes, but he needs more consistency.

We may have to get used to 3-4 throws a game that are mind boggling inaccurate to go along with pretty solid play the rest of the game.

Talk of Rudduck improving this year sounds like our hopes for 0-line improvement the last few years.  He seems like what we thought he would be low ceiling and high floor except the floor has a few holes in it.

Additionally, outside of Butt, Rudock isn't blessed with receivers who do him any favors and make him look good. Darboh seems to be decent at gaining yards after a quick out, but beyond that no receiver has great catching radius or game changing speed and seem never to make the difficult catch. This requires the QB to be near to perfect and Rudock is not that.

Did you not see the receivers having to flip around and adjust their routes for even the simplest of completions? This cost valuable YAC and will be a serious problem against better defenses. That's not even considering the passes he flat out misfired on, giving the receivers no chance to catch them.

He did have a few nice completions in the right spot. But I would expect better from a 5th year guy who has had adequate time to work with his receivers. He was supposed to be accurate and consistent. Not yet, for sure. Hopefully it improves.....

Those two throws you picked were incredibly easy throws. They should be perfect. He also whiffed on a wide open Butt, :), threw a bootleg toss at Kerrridge's feet, and blew the pass to Drake. His completion to Butt was behind him and he slung another interception by throwing late.

Rudock has now played as much at Michigan as Shane has in his career. They have the same number of int's and he's got a fumble loss as well, not sure if Shane has fumbled. He's thrown as many or more really bad passes as Shane has even though he has a higher completion rate.Shane has had a lot of drops.

He's had an infinitely better line to play behind, much more time, and a better running game to help him than Shane has had in his very spread out and sporadic appearances.

He's had time to get in a grove, get his rhythm and timing down by playing three straight nearly complete games. Shane had one full game, his first ever, in a fucking bowl, in which the whole team fell apart around him and they dropped his passes. Aside from that he played in drips and drabs.

Rudock is a 5th year senior and 2.25 year starter and isn't getting better and seems to have little potential for improvement. Shane still has a vastly higher ceiling than what we've seen from him so far.

Shane has an infinitely better arm, throws a much nicer ball and can run better.

If this is all we're going to get from Rudock then we're going to be lucky not to lose 5 or more games. If we're going to lose that many games anyway then I'd MUCH rather go through a learning curve and some bumps in the road with Morris, Speight or Gentry even if it would somehow mean losing an extra game or two compared to with Rudock.

Those guys can grow and make progress that way and at least get experience so we have a viable backup if nothing else, and someone will get a head start on next year to compete for time.

I think there's every chance that with a few real games under their belt that one of those guys would be a more dangerous weapon by the end of the year than Rudock will be.

Harbaugh would never had RS him. He did it because the only chance Morris has is to keep learning the offense and improve his fundamentals. He's a good athlete with potential but you will not see Morris this season and I'm afraid O'Korn will beat him out next season for the starter job!

Rudock is just not on....not sure if this was who is really is, or just not comfortable yet, but all the reports of low risk high accuracy are not being seen so far.

Couldn't watch the game(damn you Dish network in Nashville) but had game cast on while watching AF-MSU. Did Rudock complete a pass? That looked really concerning.

As I've said a couple of times before, Rudock consistently beat out the other QB options.  So unless you think a true freshman project, whatever is left of Shane Morris, or Wilton Speight are signficantly better (and I've seen no evidence to make me believe any are), you have to roll with Rudock and hope the defense keeps you in games.

Personally, I'm more bothered by the offensive line struggling again to maintain a consistent push between the tackles.  That shouldn't be as big of an issue as it appears to be with this unit.

I think the guy that is in there is the guy who makes the best decisions. And with the receiving corps that is in there, that is not an easy task. There aren't any Mario Manninghams streaking down the field wide open, and there aren't any Junior Hemingways there to throw 45 yard jump balls to. Yeah, Rudock has 5 INTs now, but at least a couple of them are definitely on the WRs. If Morris was in for those games, how many INTs would he have? I would bet more, and with little more yards/TDs to offset them. I think Rudock has a really tough job and can only imagine his progression of reads/decision tree. He probably goes from one receiver to the next, where each decision to throw would be either to a covered guy, a very tight window, or a tight window. And if that is the case, I think you want the decision-maker to be your QB, not the thrower. While I haven't been to any games this year and haven't had the perspective of seeing all of the receivers on the field, I bet there are very few plays where there are wide open receivers.
