I don't think he lost the Utah game. I'd put that one squarely on the offensive line. We couldn't consistently move the line of scrimmage even inches forward. I thought Rudock was pretty bad, but he was also our entire offense. You think he cost us the game, I think he was the only reason we weren't shut out.

Smith/Isaac/Johnson is a good problem to have.

Rudock, while I expected him to be fairly average but man, he missed some wide open throws today. Even the dump offs, which are his strong suit looked bad. Meh.

The sky will fall for so many even when the team won by 21 points, when Hoke was coaching, that last possession vs Akron was to not lose the game, It wasn't pretty but it wasn't that bad, way better than what Minnesota, psu, Maryland, and a bunch of others have shown. Ruddock wasn't at his best, but the receivers didn't help him much either, the best catch they made was by Drake Harris and it was out of bounds, they need to reel in one difficult pass each game and nobody would be this concerned, there have been chances in each and every game to score on a long pass, even Speight had to stabs at it and event though it was difficult, Canteen and Grant had the ball hitting their fingers and couldn't hold on the ball. It wasn't as pretty as I thought, but a win is a win and by 21 points not like against Uconn or Akron, this team won't win the big 10, but I did not expected it either, as long as they win I'm a happy camper, climb down the ledge people...

Honestly, I think Harbaugh is being stubborn about Rudock. As bad as he's been, it's difficult to believe no one else is close and couldn't get a longer look.

I still have tons of friends at home in Iowa. Rudock is a practice warrior, coach's dream of a player that simply can't get it done on Saturday. Great for a swing pass and a check down throw. Just not much else in the tank. A better D will keep stacking the box and I am not looking forward to that situation.

I lost count of the amount of times he had miles of space to the outside but just ran into a defender down the middle. Isaac needs to start. He's simply a better player.

Smith is what we know he is. Good last game aside he's been running like that since he arrived. That long TD run Isaac had he cut back and used the lineman to breakaway on that run. Smith probably would have ran into the defender and try to knock him over. Isaac not that great at pass blocking though

What if we can't run on an opponent? Can anyone imagine us airing it out with Rudock? A team that can shut down our running game can probably shut out our offense period.

Of being able to beat MSU this year are dwindling.  It's still possible but with every game I get less and less confidence in Rudock. And unless he plays out of his mind we won't beat them. We won't hold their offense to 10 points. We're going to need around 30 points at the least.

I hope you meant military academies and not Naval Academies and they get blown out all the time. Just not this time, can't figure out if the performance was MSU holding off on the gas but USAFA was doing great with run D and was really getting some run in the edges against the MSU secondary.

Woof.  That was a step back this week.  It seemed like the only play that was working was the sweep (both pitch and jet).

Rudock with a bad game, I need to lower my expectations of him.  I think Rudock needs to put a little more air under the ball on the deep ball to give the receiver more time to adjust.  That said the receivers aren't helping him at all on those.  They look lost, two of them were catchable balls and they slowed up or did 360s looking for the ball.

Rudock has not looked close to good against the two worst teams on our schedule, and, even worse, hasn't shown any signs of improvement at all. I'm pretty nervous for B1G play. I think our defense can keep us in games enough to win 8, but it's truly baffling that this is somehow the best QB on the roster.

We knew going into the off season, even before we had a coach, that we didn't have a QB. We knew when we got Harbaugh that we still didn't have a QB. So we haven't learned anything yet in the season about that. We knew the O line was suspect, maybe could play up to average now given all the experience & some decent coaching. And we knew the RB's were, at best, not great either. Team talent-wise there was no reason to think this could be a good offense. We hoped it could be OK, assuming it could execute & good coaching now should get us to that. I said last week that was more an awful performance from our opponent than us playing that impressively. This week confirmed it. That's a terrible UNLV team, and rightfully the game was never in doubt, but we all have to see now, at least, that this team does need a TON of work still to get to above-average. We knew that too; just can't hope & pretend otherwise any more.

Rudock was bad today, he goes through his progressions too slowly, is late on a late of throws, is a hesitant decision maker and can't throw the deep ball worth a damn. I'm not super concerned about the OL because it is almost impossible to generate consistent push with both safeties in the box and no team with any talent is going to worry about getting beat over the top. It's pathetic and as long as Rudock is our starting qb we have no chance against any above average team. Rudock may make us less likely to lose to bad teams but he gives us zero to no shot against the good ones.

So that explains why we have to roll with Rudock. At least next year, we'll have a 5th year senior Shane, sophomore Wilt and O'Korn, which makes our QB situation amazing.

I also disagree that Rudock has poor arm strength. He just throws the deep balls 1-2 seconds too late. I'm not sure how correctable that is during the season, especially because he seemed to do this at Iowa as well.
