March Madness Day One
The first day of March Madness is upon us! While not as exciting with our Wolverines missing the Big Dance for the second year in a row, it is still a fun event.
So far 3-seed Creighton is the only top seed to take care of business, beating Akron handily. 11-seed Duquesne upset 6-seed BYU, and some no-name agricultural school beat Mississippi State. 14-seed Morehead State is leading 3-seed Illinois by one point with lots of time remaining.
What games are you watching today? What upsets are you picking? Who will win the whole thing?
Illinois fans right now
They're craven morehead now though!
Illinois is on my list of teams to avoid in this tourney, with Purdue, Arizona, Kansas and Kentucky.
Back to back years without Michigan playing in this tournament has sure taken my interest to a new low to be honest.
Well if it makes you feel any better the fact that the March Madness thread got posted at 4:00pm EST and the games started at noon tells me you are far from alone there.
There was a time in my life where I took these two days off for this tourney - even if Michigan wasn't in it. Alas, that is no more...
Michigan is in the tournament.
You're watching the wrong basketball.
I'm sorry, how is this in any way at all related to my continued enjoyment of the football national championship?
Watching Shannon and Love in these early games makes me wonder what if…
Michigan’s transfer policy sucks.
Also, I got lucky and picked Duquesne In my work bracket.
Duquesne is coached by the uncle of one of my coworkers. Also, their mascot, Bluefasa, is glorious...
msu has a cakewalk to the final four.
Agreed, when they lose on Saturday they'll have plenty of time to buy tickets for the final four.
So I used Seth's betting tool to look for spreads that didnt match up and so far so good.
Did a two team parlay with Creighton -12.5 (won by 17) and Arizona -19.5 (won by 20). Took Illini -10.5 and right now they're up 4.
Ililllni are up by 17 in the final half minute. Good to go on that one too.
Duquesne really showed how to close out a game --- never missed a Free Throw down the stretch! That one dude had the ugliest form ever but he's still a 95% FT shooter!
Say what you will about MSU: but they've won 7 straight NCAA games when it's a 7-10 or 8-9 matchup. They may not always win 2-15 games in the NCAA, but they know how to beat middling seeds in the NCAA. They were my survivor pool pick for the day.
I finished watching Season 5 of Fargo. Perhaps my favorite season of the show.
Jon Hamm was a great bad guy. That show is amazing.
Oh this was about basketball. I like Morehead St
Who doesn't love more head? Oh, you mean the school?
Fuck Sparty. That is all.
I am not emotionally prepared for the Izzo love on TV if they beat UNC on Saturday.
They won't.
The only Basketball game I am looking forward to on Saturday is KBA and the Michigan Women’s game at 11 here in the left coast.
Yep Tiny Tom, we need more games like MSU vs. MSU because they are bigger brands instead of Duquesne vs. BYU. One of those games was fun to watch, the other not as much.
Watching Mississippi State's half court offense was pain.
Anyone have a good stream? I finally cancelled cable
If you have a smart TV you can install Kodi and then use The Crew add-on to stream live sports.

Thanks! I have a project for tonight.
Yes, but I take Flomax. Oh , you mean TV.....
I felt like a genius for picking Duchesne, but my hatred picked Mississippi State over MSU, so I am in 19th place in my pool. Oregon is about to ruin my day.
You would think that the announcer for the Oregon game would know how to pronounce the name of the State. It is NOT Ore-gone it is Ore-gun. And Oregonians are sensitive about it. Trust me, I’ve lived here for 45 years.
You mean it’s only 2 syllables? 🤯
You’ll survive
Even my 8 year old commented to me that he was pronouncing it wrong.
College basketball used to be a great sport, and the tournament used to be maybe the best part of the sports year. One and done started it down the road to ruin. Transfermania has made it even worse. I have no interest.

Thanks for posting. Could you please share other things you don't care about.
My big issue with hiring Pope is that BYU just rolls out these super-old teams and then they get bounced early in the tourney seemingly every time.
Does the Pope shit in the woods?
Not if there’s a rabbit I think
What just happened? I went into a meeting with Nevada having a 99.5% win probability. I came out of the meeting with...??? A 1 in 200 result
Nevada had a hard time with Dayton's press. Dayton started hitting shots, including a few threes, and their D stiffened up bigly (phrasing!!!). Nevada played with one hand around their throat for the last five minutes.
I had a brief thought about Alford to replace Juwan but yeah, nope.
I live in Reno and was kind of wondering why Alford's name hasn't come up at a potential replacement at Michigan. Now we know why
I’d be ecstatic with Medved! The team has crisp passing, understands when to double, does backdoor cuts when necessary, proper spacing, etc . I’m sold already.
Ever since I posted this, Texas is ok a 14-0 run lol.
11 points with 4 min left in half. Yuck.
It was looking pretty early and then it fell off a cliff.
the wrong end of a 25-3 run to end the half. woof.
He’s perfect for us! We’ll carry on just like we were this year.
you are cruel...
Old takes exposed. Didn’t take long to age poorly.
FIRE MEDVED!!!
/too early??
underrated comment! and not too early, buy low sell high on this one
Your audition is not going well, Niko.
