12/01/2018 - 10:40pm I was planning on making…

I was planning on making these tonight while watching the B10 championship game.   No football for me today but the burgers were incredible.  I usually try to make a "thick and juicy" burger and these were a great mix up.  The toasted mayo buns is a simple twist that we're going to incorporate all the time now.  Thanks MGoBBQ!

11/17/2018 - 1:23am Consider yourself lucky.  …

Consider yourself lucky.   My parents were great and took my family to Yellowstone a couple of times as a kid.  I remember the park ranger explaining how this was one yuge volcano at one point and my first thought was that it would go off while we were there.  I was both terrified but also resigned that we'd be dead quickly.  Oddly enough, I still want to get back there.

10/21/2018 - 8:59pm I know a few people have…

I know a few people have mentioned the two passes that were caught on ricochets as being lucky plays but if Sparty didn't have the luck of recovering the fumble on the seven yard line, I don't think there's any chance they even point any points on the board.  Given our luck over the past few years however, while the Wolverines pretty much dominated, there was that specter of a crazy play giving Sparty the break they needed (especially given the weather).

My favorite part of the last two games has been watching our offensive line and running game get better in the second half.   I was wondering if Bucky was just beat up but to do the same thing to MSU yesterday was impressive.

I'm going to be interested in the offensive UFR if Patterson had more opportunities to keep the ball and run in the first half.    It almost seemed like he was waiting for a few key plays in the second half to run where it had more of an impact.

Good to see you Ace!   Go Blue.   Tough win in tough conditions.  We had a couple of lucky bounces on passes that helped out but take away their fumbler recovery and their trick play and this wouldn't have been close.

That's what I remember and it seemed like the bigger the game, the more dramatic the pause would be between each of his names.

This is why I read MGoblog-  Entertained and educated at the same time!    Great work on this list!  I feel like Ali Haji-Sheikh needed a mention in special teams.   I recall the stadium slowly chanting his name with a pause between each name during games.

Never realized Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch played at Michigan.  Having spent some time in Madison, they claim him as their own.

04/15/2018 - 11:06am Danke

Thank you Moe for three great years and good luck to you against your idol. .   Loved your Players Tribune write up that got me a bit teary-eye.  Also thank you for not writing it in German.  Took four semesters of German at Michigan and the only thing I remember is "bier, bitte."   I might even be able to order anywhere from 1-10 beers if pushed a bit.

04/03/2018 - 12:09am Ugh

To quote Ed Rooney, "Between grief and nothing, I'll take grief".   Great run boys and we just got beat by a deeper team.

03/22/2018 - 9:54pm 1989 Michigan/Virginia

Reminded me of when we put 102 on Virginia in the 1989 tourney run.    Was kind of hoping for another three at the end to match that number.  Go Blue and cute the Elite Muppets.

03/18/2018 - 10:32pm Nice job

Under 4 hrs for a first marathon is awesome.    You are truly a Michigan man!

03/18/2018 - 11:02am Good luck

Good luck at the Marathon and let the energy of that win keep you moving!!!

03/17/2018 - 12:43pm Guess I just figured out what I'm doing on Fridays this fall

I live in Reno and Damonte Ranch High School is 10 min from my office.  Looks like I need to catch some games this fall wearing my maize and blue!!!   Maybe I'll invite some of my ND colleagues to join me.

03/04/2018 - 7:23pm Back to back muppets

Back to back Big 10 championships deserve back to back muppets!   Loved Beilein getting the crowd fired up during the celebration speech and dropping "the team, the team, the team."  Go Blue!!!

11/13/2017 - 11:28am Avoiding the Trap

I was living in Madison and went to the game with a group of Michigan friends.  Having been to the 1993 "stampede" game, we were sort of worried about this being a trap game.   We had great seats right by the Michigan tunnel and I still have photos on my desk of the team coming out on the field.    I just remember being on edge but Michigan just grinding out the win with Howard late in the game.   I also distinctly remember the body language of the team afterwards walking back into the locker room: not a lot of celebrating and they still had a very focused look in their eyes.   I'm usually not too confident about Michigan football but seeing their body language, I knew they were already getting locked in and focused for OSU next week.    An underappreciated game but it was great to see Michigan avoid the trap.  Cocktails and steaks at the Tornado club never tasted so good.

09/05/2017 - 11:11am Florida band

Definitely the Florida band.   My brother and I were laughing when we first heard it.  Maybe they are trying to troll their own coach.

09/28/2014 - 3:43pm If Morris had a concussion, why did he still have his helmet?

As a physician and Michigan fan, I'm shocked like everybody else at the way this whole thing played out.    Hoke, the coaching staff and most importantly the medical staff has some serious questions to answer that I'm sure they will avoid in the next few press conferences.   What I don't understand was 1) Was he evaluated on the sidelines and 2) if he did have a concussion, why the medical staff didn't take his helmet away from him.   That's a really easy common way to ensure that a player doesn't make his way back on the field during the game without being cleared.

01/08/2014 - 11:15pm Chip on Shoulder

More I read, it does sound like he was getting pushed out.  May help us as the guy will likely have a chip on his shoulder now.

11/03/2013 - 5:12pm 6-8 plays ?

There were 6-8 plays that made a difference?   He makes it  sound like we were in this game until near the end.

10/17/2012 - 1:33pm Just got the prices

I was pretty close.... just got an e-mail...

-    The Game Changer (limited to 30 pieces): $7,995
-    The Rainmaker (limited to 12 pieces): $6,995
-    The Risk Taker (limited to 8 pieces): $6,995
-    Custom handmade straps: $200 to $350 each

Can't figure out why the more limited ones cost less....

10/16/2012 - 3:40pm Watch names

I'm just thinking with the limited editions (50 for the Game Changer, 12 for the Rain Maker, and 8 for the Risk Taker) the prices are going to get incredibly inflated.  Market forces at work- good ol' supply and demand.

BTW- Rain Maker?  They couldn't come up with something better than that?   Sounds like it's the watch for the graduate who is a regular high tipping customer at his local Gentlemen's night club.  Maybe more appropriate for a MSU wide reciever who has made it to the NFL.

10/16/2012 - 2:54pm Nice timepieces

Q  What is the difference between a watch and a time piece?

A.  About $10,000.

Need to start an over/under on the watches.  I'm guessing the base watch starts at about $7500.  Kind of pricey for stainless steel cases on all three models
