So, who is coming back next year?
Obviously the season isn't done, but I'm trying to figure out who is likely to come back or can come back? I'm not sure how the whole covid year thing works or if it still does, but I figured someone here would know much more about this stuff.
To all those that are moving on congrats on everything you accomplished and good luck! As always Beat Ohio Again.

We will have an absolute boatload of game-tested talent in both sides of the ball. JJ, Donovan, Loveland, Corn John, and All: they are going to score a lot of touchdowns
November 27th, 2022 at 1:15 PM ^
Hopefully All can play again. The "life-changing" surgery sounded pretty serious.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:36 PM ^
CJ is probably off to the NFL
November 27th, 2022 at 2:04 PM ^
Agreed.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:06 PM ^
Someone needs to back up the Brinks truck for any starter who isn’t a lock for the first round. NIL can best a rookie contract if we pay these guys right.
And if that happens then Harbaugh’s approach to NIL will win out. Think Hinton wouldn’t like a six figure NIL salary to have been on this line instead of not playing?
November 27th, 2022 at 2:59 PM ^
Practice squad players in the NFL make six figures. Not sure where he landed but I’m sure he’s fine.
November 27th, 2022 at 3:49 PM ^
Chris Balas says this is happening -- Michigan is trying to do NIL deals to keep (presumably non-first-rounders) in the program.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:07 PM ^
Corum has no choice but to return
November 27th, 2022 at 2:02 PM ^
No he is draft eligible, his freshman year was 2020.
November 27th, 2022 at 2:08 PM ^
That may be, but he has to come back to prove that he can play a whole season without injury. The NFL will wait.
November 27th, 2022 at 4:13 PM ^
Is this sarcasm?
November 27th, 2022 at 4:46 PM ^
Ha, do you really need me to answer that?
November 27th, 2022 at 1:08 PM ^
I will be back!
November 27th, 2022 at 1:25 PM ^
Okay Terminator!
November 27th, 2022 at 1:10 PM ^
For sure gone on O: Corum, Bell, Schoon, Olu, and Hayes.
50/50 on O: Johnson, Keegan, Zinter.
For sure on D: Mazi, Morris, Upshaw
50/50 on D: Jenkins, Turner, Okie (I know he said he was coming back but a strong last 3 games could change that).
Special Teams: Robbins & Moody
November 27th, 2022 at 1:34 PM ^
Ironically I feel like our depth fills in all our gaps next year. Loveland with his bigger play potential will be an upgrade as his blocking is showing promise.
We have WR depth assuming the youngsters show out.
We showed we have online depth.
Mason Graham and Grant are going to fill in nicely. Edge, we have guys that have the potential or at least a lot of solid guys
November 27th, 2022 at 2:15 PM ^
Not ironic, man. That's what it means to have a program in place! "We don't rebuild, we reload."
November 27th, 2022 at 2:28 PM ^
Yes, on the DL. Look at how big MacGregor played yesterday. The guy is a dude. And Okie is also back on the edge.
November 27th, 2022 at 5:37 PM ^
McGregor is not a lock to return.
November 27th, 2022 at 6:20 PM ^
Why is that?
November 27th, 2022 at 2:19 PM ^
Olu will be very difficult to replace.
He has been amazing all season long.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:11 PM ^
Eyabi Okie said he's coming back for another season. He had a nice sack yesterday.
Michigan is set to have a big reinforcement set to return to the defense next season. Sources have told Maize & Blue Review that defensive lineman Eyabi Okie 'intends to return' to the Wolverines' program next season, using his final year of eligibility in Ann Arbor.
Okie wants another full season under the strength and conditioning program in Ann Arbor to build up his draft status.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:13 PM ^
- I'm hopeful I like how he plays
November 27th, 2022 at 1:22 PM ^
*strip sack. Refs hosed him on that call, but oh well. They called a clean game otherwise so I’ll take it.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:31 PM ^
Good thing for the Bucks the refs said play can’t be reviewed cause Jim would have put 50+ on the board
November 27th, 2022 at 1:33 PM ^
That call was utter horseshit. "forward progress was stopped" because he was in the act of being tackled? By that logic any fumble that happened at any point after the tackle is initiated should be blown dead - only clean drops and "punched out" fumbles should count.
He was being tackled. He wasn't down. He lost the ball. That's a fumble.
As it happened, we were up by 22, plus Stroud threw an interception on the very next play. But in a different context, that's the kind of call that stings for decades afterwards.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:39 PM ^
true, but in the context of that play it was an easy opportunity for a 'scoop and score' as our D-lineman was right on that ball.
November 27th, 2022 at 2:10 PM ^
Absolute dong punch in other circumstances. Like JT was short.
November 27th, 2022 at 2:17 PM ^
I think the issue was that they blew the whistle so they made that forward progress crap up for why they blew the whistle too early and couldn't review it. They knew they screwed that one up.
November 27th, 2022 at 2:35 PM ^
Totally need to do the NFL (mostly) idea of let the play play-out and then it can be reviewed.
November 27th, 2022 at 2:45 PM ^
College refs are instructed to let it play out. They messed up, seemed like the refs kinda checked out there at the end with the game decided and the Buckeyes having checked out too.
November 27th, 2022 at 5:48 PM ^
Exactly
November 27th, 2022 at 11:07 PM ^
I said exactly this right after the play. It looked like the referees got together and asked each other how they could cover it up, and came up with forward progress was stopped. "Yeah! Say that! Forward progress!"
November 27th, 2022 at 5:31 PM ^
The referee covered the wing officials inadvertent whistle by calling it forward progress stopped.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:11 PM ^
Hoping for Sainristil and Barrett at least
November 27th, 2022 at 1:17 PM ^
Harbaugh asked them both to come back in the post game interview yesterday.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:26 PM ^
Would be huge. Definitely the leaders of next year's defense if they both return.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:56 PM ^
These guys have to Return, no?
I can’t see them being taken high enough to justify leaving vs staying.
November 27th, 2022 at 2:16 PM ^
I think Sainristil has shown enough this season to get drafted as a nickel back, but it would be great to see him return.
November 27th, 2022 at 4:51 PM ^
Barrett = our brooks bollinger (except a better passer)
November 27th, 2022 at 1:11 PM ^
It may depend on how the season finishes. Should the team win it all I could see more departures. If they come up short then maybe more players stay to try another bite at the apple. Regardless this program is at a whole other level right now. Harbaugh and staff doing some work.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:11 PM ^
*raises hand*
Mee
November 27th, 2022 at 1:13 PM ^
there is zero evidence for this but i truly believe that Corum will be back next year. He seems to be having fun and the way he's using his NIL opportunities make it seem like he does understand there are some bigger things than football
November 27th, 2022 at 1:17 PM ^
He needs to go while healthy. Another yeAr of workload for rb is no good.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:27 PM ^
You're absolutely right and he deserves to get paid. I can still hope
November 27th, 2022 at 2:33 PM ^
While I would never say no to another year of Corum in the backfield I feel very comfortable with the idea of Donovan Edwards there going forward.
Considering the short shelf-life of running backs it's probably best he move on if it makes sense financially.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:27 PM ^
I actually think the staff will encourage him to go. If he wants to return, great. Other than that they'll recommend he go. Jim has always been known as a coach that tells the players the truth regarding The NFL even if it's a player he would really like to keep.
The reason why is the wear a RB has being directly correlated with value these days. RBs are undervalued as is but especially when they have a lot of carries in college. You have to be seen as a generational talent for the tread debate to not hurt you.
Right now he'd be getting in to The Draft with enough film to show what he is and isn't while only having about 1.75 years of workload on his body. Terrific vision, shifty but quicker than he is fast. Good catching out of the backfield. His stock can't really go higher than it is.
November 27th, 2022 at 1:32 PM ^
His reason for leaving wouldn't be for football - it would be for money.
I think the only reason he should even consider staying is if he can make far more in NIL than in the NFL - if his projection is 2nd round or lower pick, NIL winning might be possible.
November 27th, 2022 at 5:51 PM ^
Well he won’t be a first rounder, probably not a second but still should go
