That is based on just 1 crystal ball vote though...
|01/02/2019 - 2:38pm||I thought so too, but after…||
I thought so too, but after Long got banged up yet again in the bowl game I started thinking he would leave. Long seemed to have to exit every single game with a minor injury. He has shown more than enough talent to get drafted in the early middle rounds and should be a good pro.
|05/24/2018 - 5:11pm||Maybe it will work out, he seems||
to have good taste, at least in college hoops apparel:
|04/12/2018 - 10:14pm||I first saw the hair and "Exit", had a split second heart attack||
thinking it was Jordan Poole before my brain processed everything else. Ibi would have been a nice bench piece here as an upperclassman but I think he has a good chance at being an all-conference player at a MAC level school much like Jaaron Simmons at Ohio or Kam Chatman at UDM.
|04/03/2018 - 11:18am||Maybe||
since he muttered that right after the guy said there was time for 1 or 2 more questions, Mo was saying to MAAR that they shouldn't dare to ask him that dreaded question - whether he would be turning pro or not. So he wasn't referring to the previous question, but what the next question might be.
|03/04/2018 - 11:10pm||Undersized for a shoot-first||
pg and does not have the big-time athleticism to make up for it. He could declare, but he is not on draft boards right now.
|02/17/2018 - 3:55pm||Just checked the score for the 1st time since the half||
My first thought upon seeing that MSU had tied it up? "Someone created a thread on Mgoblog and jinxed it." Yup.
|02/10/2018 - 1:25pm||That's why he has||
said all along that he would create new GM positions to run the soccer aspects, with the President's role focusing primarily on the business and budget side of things, rather than doing it all like Gulati did.

|01/28/2018 - 4:30pm||MLB teams||
often have a handful of players that were former shortstops, even Miguel Cabrera started his pro career as a shortstop.
|01/27/2018 - 3:50pm||Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the names||
of the players was still officially redacted (by the university police/MSU's doing, but the names should have been available to the public) at the time of the draft but it was a basically confirmed rumor it was Payne and Appling since 2010. The successful ESPN/media FOIA lawsuit is what unredacted their names this past year. So it was "known" he had the rape accusation, but he wasn't officially confirmed as one of the players. Still a bad look though and should have given teams some red flags with him.
|01/27/2018 - 12:14am||lol yikes||
uh, its been a long week...
|01/26/2018 - 9:17pm||There was||
There was a social media fad called "posterizing" or "dunk cam" a few years ago where an unsuspecting person would get dunked on out of the blue while being filmed. This particular one happened at the U of Houston, where supposively the guy was always late for class so his peers all decided to posterize him, however evidence strongly suggests that it was staged and he was in on it, like many other social media prank vids aiming to go viral.
Here are some more "dunk cams" if thats your thing (some NSFW language):

that there were hundreds of victims, but she was informed he was being investigated in 2014, and it seems she didn't bother to look into it herself, not even simply checking with the volleyball coach and other athletic department personnel to see if they had EVER heard of ANY type of complaints about him. If she had done that and realized there was a nearly 20 year history of complaints against him, he wouldn't have been brought back - at least you would hope. Instead he was ultimately allowed to victimize more patients after a brief suspension. There was a sickening lack of due diligence by Simon.

|01/14/2018 - 8:36pm||In the regular season||
the point-after is attempted even when the game is decided because a potential (way down the list) playoff qualifying tiebreaker is total points (but teams always kneel it anyways). But with this being a playoff game it doesn't make sense to have to attempt it, except for gambling reasons, which many fans think is the real reason for the rule. Teams just kneel it anyways so the NFL should really get rid of the rule except for 1 or 2 point games where a defensive 2 pt conversion could tie/win the game.

Still up in the air what will happen with Pep and Drevno, if they stay Enos may or not may be involved with some playcalling. If Drevno goes, Enos probably wont be OC and another will be brought in.
|01/11/2018 - 9:51pm||Brian Smith also left||
|01/08/2018 - 9:29pm||If fighting was part of basketball since||

|01/08/2018 - 9:20pm||Yes, it is more difficult to||
fight on skates as you have less balance and therefore less power, but there are still guys that can do some serious damage on the ice. NHL guys aren't always out there collecting bodies but in the Minors there are guys you do NOT want to mess with!
|01/08/2018 - 9:10pm||Fighting in skates, on ice||
with elbow pads and what not inhibiting your swing takes some of the power out of a punch, something to consider. News flash, hockey and football are different sports. Different athletes, gameplay, and rules.
You see, hitting (checking) in hockey is OPTIONAL to stop players. In football, hitting is NECESSARY to stop the ball-carriers progress. You didn't need to check Gretzky into the boards, yeah you could legally do it, but with a retaliatory body check or a fight hanging over your head, you had better think twice.
Of course then there are dirty hits, and when that happens in football, you DO often see players protect their own - that is when fights usually occur, with discipline handed out by the league (same thing happens in the NHL with post-dirty hit brawls with penalties/fines/suspensions).

I understand your thinking and it does work to find productive players, but Noil himself was raw as a receiver, he played mostly QB and running back in high school but had insane athleticism that made him a 5 star. Artavis Scott was a very good slot receiver, he had more catches in three seasons than Washington had in four full seasons in college (Washington had WAY more yards though). You say that you prefer players that put up big stats in high school similar to James Washington, but that would pretty much BE Ronnie Bell, here are senior year stats:
Washington: 73 catches, 1331 yards, 24 TDs, ranked #689, went to OkSU, TCU offer as well he was a very solid prospect, a higher end three star
Ronnie Bell: 89 catches, 1605 yards, 21 TDs, ranked #1509, ND and other P5 schools were very interested late in the process but were told not to bother, would be ranked much higher if fully commited to football and scouts have said as much.
Yo'heinz Tyler is ranked #1901 and his only P5 offer was from the worst of them all, Kansas, and he ended up signing with Ball St.
So, like you, I do think that Tyler is an intriguing player, but he is very much a boom or bust player, and there is a reason he is going to Ball State, as smaller schools live by taking lower floor projects like him and hoping they can put everything together and develop into great players.
|01/04/2018 - 7:07pm||You are right||
I re-read the statement and she did talk to Dudek about it so he was directly aware and not just after she had left the position, so it wasn't just office hearsay. And Title IX does state that it is required to report both incidents witnessed and incidents that are heard about. But we do not have anywhere close to all the details regarding this situation, and have only heard the victims story.
|01/04/2018 - 3:30pm||Enos was on the hot seat though||
While Norvell was in consideration (offered?) by some of the programs looking for a new coach this season. Totally different end of the spectrum.
|01/04/2018 - 3:21pm||I get that, but I feel||
he could have put forth a much better effort than he did to validate the $7.5 million figure than just casually mentioning the social climate and how long emotional trauma can last. Obviously they will aim high initially, but at least provide a better concluding argument to maximize that settlement. From the details given I don't think they would get anywhere close to what they are asking for in a trial.
|01/04/2018 - 3:05pm||Interesting||
Even if it is just hearsay? I would totally understand if you witness something in person it would be mandatory to report, but its more complicated when it is just rumors and you don't have evidence to support it.
|01/04/2018 - 2:57pm||Just watched his tape||
looks like a decent project with potential, but he is super raw. His "routes" need a ton of work, hands look iffy (catches the ball with his body unless it was above his head). He was simply taller and more athletic than opponents so of course he put up numbers. Bell honestly looks quite a bit better, way more polish and offers a much higher floor.
|01/04/2018 - 2:40pm||The tape doesn't lie||
I watched it and can confirm he has the talent to be a good college receiver. Doesn't have NFL combo of size and acceleration/speed right now, which combined with his total lack of camps he was bound to be a generic 3 star. I do think he is elite or has the potential to be elite in other areas (leaping/high-pointing, run after catch, routes, hands) and could be a very productive player.
|01/04/2018 - 2:20pm||I thought the lawyer's||
conclusion was pretty awfully done, it was literally just "Yeah, so society is really into taking down sexual harrassers right now so you WILL lose a trial and have to pay tens of millions so just pay the $7.5 million settlement." Pretty lame attempt at a scare tactic, but I'd bet RR ends up settling for like 2-3 million to avoid a trial.
|01/04/2018 - 2:12pm||Seemed like||
he was one of the only empathetic people she still trusted in the department. RR and this Melissa were both adults and its not like Dudek witnessed a rape or an assault happening - the advances RR made weren't necessarily Dudek's thing to report especially if he only heard about them from Melissa, and as Melissa stated she didn't feel comfortably saying much about it at the time, she likely would not have wanted Dudek to say anything to superiors.
|01/04/2018 - 1:04pm||Chatsports has posted borderline||
libelous BS in the past. I'm talking totally fabricated stories that they present as fact. Like would a former Michigan player not only grant an inside scoop interview to a no-name 16 year old "journalist" but also detail program, coach, and player reputation damning information to him? Its outlandish bullshit like that that has gotten them banned from this site. Throwing out rumors is one thing, but they have completely crossed the line and have zero ethics in some of the "stories" that they have done. They care about only one thing, getting clicks, and will do anything to get it.
|01/04/2018 - 12:41pm||The Frey to FSU||
rumors originated on FSU boards, not chatsports.
The Washington rumors originated on Michigan forums.
What they do is patrol college football forums and report any rumor they come across that has any chance of sticking as soon as they can, to look like they were at the forefront of "reporting" it, and they also take educated guesses about things that any fan may assume is going to happen but without any real source to back it up but claim they do have one. Don't be fooled.
|01/04/2018 - 12:33pm||They have posted fake, reputation harming||
BS in the past. Making up fake interviews with former players, claiming outlandish stuff was happening with the team, etc. Throwing crazy speculations out hoping something would stick. all for attention and clicks. Now they just post any rumor they see on various college football boards/twitter ASAP, some of which comes from insiders and ends up being true. The stuff they post DOES NOT originate from there. Thats why they are banned and SHOULD BE BANNED! They contribute nothing but TOTAL BULLSHIT and recycled rumors. If you can't see that, you are part of the problem with a lot of the internet these days, unable to see the difference between valid, reputable sources and attention seeking clickwhore psuedo-journalists.
|01/03/2018 - 5:16pm||No thats wrong too||
It went Furbush interception, then Higdon fumble, then the defense forced a (short) punt with SC backed up that gave Michigan the ball already in FG range, the offense went 3 and out but Nordin made the kick to go up 19-3. So the fumble kinda still helped lead to points in a way by pinning SC inside their own 5. Then they scored on the ensuing drive and yeah...
|12/18/2017 - 10:15pm||His leaping ability||
and body control are very very good, but it does look like he has some limitations with acceleration and hip mobility. He has good hands and some nifty footwork so although he may not have potential NFL athleticism he could be a very solid college player.
|12/16/2017 - 10:32pm||It looked to me||
like more of a "good game, see you in a few minutes off the court" deal.
|12/16/2017 - 5:08pm||Its not GPA/grades||
they might not have the taken the proper classes (for example 1 year of foreign language) to get in. I doubt these guys are failing classes, more likely that they don't have the prerequisites.
