Purdue at Indiana tonight
Purdue at Indiana, 7 PM EST on ESPN2
Figured some may be interested in watching this game because of the implications. Michigan, MSU and Purdue are all tied for first in big ten. Michigan State just lost a main player in Ward, potentially providing Michigan the edge between those two teams.
We really need Purdue to lose a game or two down the stretch to give us some margin of error. Tonight in Indiana's arena offers a chance.

If i recall Purdues schedule, this is the toughest game they have left. So we really need Indiana to pull this off.
February 19th, 2019 at 5:00 PM ^
It is...they are positioned very well to win the B1G outright.
February 19th, 2019 at 7:07 PM ^
At Nebraska is deemed their toughest by efficiency margin sites like Torvik and Kenpom.
February 19th, 2019 at 7:38 PM ^
Nebraska's statistical profile is misleading since most of their wins came when Copeland was playing. Minnesota is probably Purdue's toughest game after this.
February 19th, 2019 at 5:40 PM ^
I don’t know why people keep thinking this, Purdue has 4 road games left. Home teams are winning 61% of the time in B1G play. We should already know about B1G road games, this year especially.

Below are the MSU, Michigan and Purdue remaining schedules with the Torvik estimated win probabilities. People think Purdue has the best shot because they do.
Edit, if you assume the individual game probabilities are independent (they aren't because of injuries and other things), then the chances of winning out are 15.4% for MSU, 6.4% for us, and 15.9% for Purdue. Also I noticed Torvik is predicting 16-4 for MSU, which doesn't follow from their own probabilities. He probably hasn't updated or something. Also Ward's loss isn't reflected in those.
February 19th, 2019 at 8:10 PM ^
He's rounding up. Their probabilities sum to 3.6 wins.
February 19th, 2019 at 4:06 PM ^
Indiana pulls it out!
February 19th, 2019 at 4:08 PM ^
Go Hoosiers! Stick it to em!
February 19th, 2019 at 4:32 PM ^
And I bet that dude is still single....
February 19th, 2019 at 4:32 PM ^
Maybe not the best person to be holding that sign
February 19th, 2019 at 5:10 PM ^
He's wearing a wig, right?
February 19th, 2019 at 6:21 PM ^
Raider owner Mark Davis did his undergrad at IU?
February 19th, 2019 at 6:36 PM ^
Its Indiana. They're still doing that part your hair in the middle thing 40 years going.
February 20th, 2019 at 10:09 AM ^
So Purdue is the reason he can't get any dates. I'd be mad, too.
February 19th, 2019 at 4:09 PM ^
Let's do this Hoosiers!
February 19th, 2019 at 4:11 PM ^
My fingers are crossed, but if you want to get a good feel for Indiana's chances (or just need a good afternoon chuckle), I recommend this game preview by Indiana blog Crimson Quarry.
February 19th, 2019 at 4:48 PM ^
Worth a read and I'm fully on board with the 100% Romeo offense plan. I mean, why not?
February 19th, 2019 at 4:12 PM ^
I’ve never cheered for IU so many times in a season. I hate them but I will cheer for them tonight and next week when they play Sparty at home
February 19th, 2019 at 4:24 PM ^
February 19th, 2019 at 4:39 PM ^
C'mon - they have 4 road games left: IU, Nebraska, Minnesota and Northwestern. All 4 are tough places to play, and to say they are going to "sail in" is pretty damn strong. And probably in error.
With OSU at home - there is at least a loss in there, and maybe even two...
February 19th, 2019 at 5:22 PM ^
Agreed. I think they likely lose at least one more. 2 more losses might be tough though.
February 19th, 2019 at 8:03 PM ^
I for one am offended by your use of the phrase pooping pants. I would ask that you use 'soiled themselves ' or 'lost control of their bowels'
February 19th, 2019 at 4:38 PM ^
Not quite as important but still interesting is Maryland at Iowa. Can Maryland get off the mat and win on the road or will Iowa prevail and if so what sort of ridiculous finish will they order up?
PSU also hosts Nebraska and for face-saving sake it would be nice if the Lions could finish the regular season with some wins.
February 19th, 2019 at 4:43 PM ^
Both my parents are IU grads - they hate Purdue with a passion. IU will bring it tonight and I think there's a good chance they win.
Basically the key is to play lockdown D on Edwards because he will shoot it regardless. If they do that, they can pull it off
February 19th, 2019 at 4:46 PM ^
That's like hating the biggest nerd in your math class. How is that possible?
February 19th, 2019 at 7:40 PM ^
Ask MSU fans.
A: because that biggest nerd becomes your boss.
February 19th, 2019 at 8:23 PM ^
No lie, my parents knew Mark Cuban (dated my mom's best friend) and Jon Bitove (was in my dad's frat) in college.
The both hate Purdue and employ plenty of people
February 19th, 2019 at 8:27 PM ^
They both hated Mark and my mom and her friend's convinced her to break up with him because he was a loser (lol). He was an asshole back then but with no money. Although he did get a loan and opened the best bar on campus (was an early adopter to the mechanical bull fad) which was subsequently shut down because a 16 year old won a wet t shirt contest
February 19th, 2019 at 5:12 PM ^
Stupid Penn State game.
February 19th, 2019 at 6:05 PM ^
Purdue got the scheduling break MSU got last year
February 19th, 2019 at 6:42 PM ^
February 19th, 2019 at 7:39 PM ^
nope.
i'll check back late in the second half when it's 19-16.
February 19th, 2019 at 7:40 PM ^
This is one of the worst games I've ever watched. Completely undisciplined play from both teams on both sides of the ball.
February 19th, 2019 at 7:41 PM ^
Rooting for IU, but I think PU wins this game.
February 19th, 2019 at 7:48 PM ^
What in the world? Is this basketball?
February 19th, 2019 at 7:56 PM ^
This game shaping up to be one of those classic 45-42 freshmen games. Normally, you'd applaud the effort of the players because they're 14. But these guys are old enough to fight for their country so we're just going to point and laugh.
February 19th, 2019 at 7:57 PM ^
I never would've guessed that Purdue leads the all-time series with IU by 30 games.
February 19th, 2019 at 8:23 PM ^
That’s about the equivalent of if Michigan Football was losing the all time series to Sparty. Indiana has the most tradition of any Big Ten school in basketball, although Beilein may have something to say about that if he sticks around for another decade.
February 19th, 2019 at 8:32 PM ^
Purdue used to be the Shit. Bobby Knight was big part of IU becoming the shit.
February 19th, 2019 at 8:29 PM ^
I would like to know what IU works on in practice. What a horribly coached team. No offensive scheme and a crap ton of TOs
February 19th, 2019 at 8:30 PM ^
I used to enjoy Dakich and liked his analysis of the subtleties of the game. He really seems to be off this year.
February 19th, 2019 at 8:37 PM ^
My wife, an Indiana Grad, finally understands why I hate Dakich. She is yelling at me, "This is the guy you talk about?". She now hates his guts with understanding. She roots for M though, A convert!
February 19th, 2019 at 8:35 PM ^
This game is absolutely horrible
February 19th, 2019 at 8:41 PM ^
Atmosphere aside, tonight is a great example of how superior NBA is to CBB.
I love both but good god this is some atrocious basketball
February 19th, 2019 at 8:48 PM ^
The only times I've seen Edwards play this year he has been horrible. No way this guy is POY.
February 20th, 2019 at 12:37 PM ^
Carsen Edwards, POY?
NTTAWWT, but I prefer Nina Daniele, sorta NSFW
February 19th, 2019 at 8:48 PM ^
Indiana should be winning this game by 20.
February 19th, 2019 at 8:56 PM ^
Anytime i see this post i know the teamwe are rooting for loses. No need to turn the tv on.
February 19th, 2019 at 8:50 PM ^
Up til now Edwards cannot buy a bucket. You know if this is at all close he hits a huge bucket down the stretch.
Hoosiers can really help us with a win here.
