Jets to continue SUCKING
December 23rd, 2018 at 11:37 PM ^
Once they expand the playoffs to 8 teams Harbaugh will never leave because we will have a chance at a championship every year. Yep, I said it.
Go Blue!
December 24th, 2018 at 7:27 AM ^
Probably 7 years away from this though.
December 24th, 2018 at 8:10 AM ^
No way will it take 7 years, the pressure is mounting at a fast rate.
December 24th, 2018 at 10:29 AM ^
CFB playoff tv contracts are up in 2 years I believe. It will happen then.
December 24th, 2018 at 11:04 AM ^
Yep.
Money (in other words, television) drives EVERYTHING.
December 24th, 2018 at 9:58 AM ^
Let’s try to win the big ten first, I’d be happy with that, forget the playoff
December 24th, 2018 at 11:03 AM ^
Let's try to win the Big10 East first. Baby steps.
December 24th, 2018 at 1:55 PM ^
Bama has 2 national titles in years in which it didn’t win its division
December 24th, 2018 at 12:45 PM ^
The two are not mutually exclusive goals. How about that? They didn’t hire Harbaugh to settle for conference championships. We are not Georgia 2017.
December 25th, 2018 at 7:32 AM ^
Let’s try this novel idea even before winning the B1G - Let’s beat Ohio State first!
December 24th, 2018 at 11:56 AM ^
Jets chairman refuted interest in Harbaugh.
December 23rd, 2018 at 10:12 PM ^
Try for Saban instead.
December 23rd, 2018 at 10:52 PM ^
Nah, take Urbz instead.
December 23rd, 2018 at 11:27 PM ^
Last time it took 10 months to make a full recovery from heart problems. Im guessing brain cysts magically heal at the same rate.
December 24th, 2018 at 10:08 AM ^
Haha I would love to see urban run his offense in the nfl w Sam darnold
December 24th, 2018 at 1:19 PM ^
Saban is 67 and Alabama is his last stop. He flopped in the NFL.
Urban has said several times in the past that he is not an NFL coach and has no interest. His strong point is recruiting and has also said he loves it - a rarity in today's CF coaching world. Why in the world can't people get that through their skulls. Success in the NFL doesn't translate into success in CF or vice-versa. Will Urban coach again ? Possibly but it won't be in the NFL.
Jim was a monster NFL coach and his offense fits that game very well. Can he succeed at the CF level - of course, he's one of the top 10 to 15 coaches out there and I'm glad he's here as we won't find anybody better,
December 24th, 2018 at 9:31 PM ^
Mr Happy Dantonio would do well in the NFL.
December 23rd, 2018 at 10:14 PM ^
::Yawn::
December 23rd, 2018 at 10:15 PM ^
Ok cool, go blue
December 23rd, 2018 at 10:16 PM ^
Take your well deserved thumbs up.
December 23rd, 2018 at 10:16 PM ^
Get real! My local Highschool has intrest in him coaching there too...
December 23rd, 2018 at 10:16 PM ^
Will Cain was talkin mess about Coach Harbaugh to the Jets last week.
It'll never stop.
December 23rd, 2018 at 10:32 PM ^
December 24th, 2018 at 9:15 AM ^
I like the NFL and I like college. It will never cease to amaze me how many NFL-only type guys think that all college coaches are just biding their time, dying for their shot in the 'real' football league. Literally cannot grasp that maybe Harbaugh or Saban or anyone else is happier coaching college than the NFL.
December 23rd, 2018 at 10:17 PM ^
total and complete waste of time. he's never going there. he's not leaving, or at least, not any time soon. his family is here. he has lots of kids and some of them are quite young. mom and dad live down the block. he bleeds maize and blue. having good seasons (not perfect) but with solid momentum. he is not leaving, period, end of story.
and he doesn't need the money. he has enough and is at the time in his life where time and quality of life is more important than money. harbaugh stays here.
December 23rd, 2018 at 10:37 PM ^
Exactly
December 23rd, 2018 at 11:51 PM ^
Not to mention the Jets are far from an ideal organization. They need a LOT of roster changes to be good and there's no proof that Sam Darnold will be a successful NFL QB.
December 24th, 2018 at 9:23 AM ^
That's actually the perfect landing spot for Harbaugh. The one thing he does really really really well is immediately improving anywhere he ends up. Obviously, I don't want him to go, but "the Jets suck ass" isn't a good reason for him not to go.
December 24th, 2018 at 1:35 AM ^
Perfectly stated.
December 24th, 2018 at 6:55 AM ^
Well said! Couldn’t have stated it better myself.
Too many #JiveTurkeys out there.
December 24th, 2018 at 7:29 AM ^
Let's see would he rather raise his kids in New York or Ann Arbor? I call bullshit. If he were to go I don't think his wife and kids would join him in that crime infested city. Why do they even print this shit.
December 24th, 2018 at 8:17 AM ^
It's click bait, that's why.
December 24th, 2018 at 10:05 AM ^
TBH the question would be whether he wants to raise his kids in Ann Arbor or New Jersey. That makes it a much easier decision.
December 24th, 2018 at 10:23 AM ^
Crime infested? Let's not be silly. Most neighborhoods in NYC are very safe. $7M would buy you a decent lifestyle. (Not that I believe Harbaugh would be interested .....)
December 23rd, 2018 at 10:18 PM ^
Just read this from another source. Apparently they're supposed to "make an offer to lucrative to refuse."
December 23rd, 2018 at 10:30 PM ^
Yeah I should have included that quote in the OP.
From the article:
"The thinking is that the Jets plan to make Harbaugh a financial offer he can’t refuse, well in excess of the $7 million he earns at Ann Arbor."
December 23rd, 2018 at 11:55 PM ^
Maybe if they broadcast him turning it down, this BS will stop.
December 24th, 2018 at 12:19 AM ^
Didn't Harbaugh turn down a larger salary at Michigan so his assistants could be paid more, saying that he can only eat so many steaks?
There are people who make life choices that aren't based on more dollars
December 24th, 2018 at 1:04 AM ^
Yeah. And u like many coaches, he had a very long successful career in the NFL already so he should have many millions in the bank. I'm sure a few million more would make any man pause and think...but I dont think it's going to move the needle for Harbaugh as much as, say a Brian Kelly or urbz
December 24th, 2018 at 9:12 AM ^
Exactly. The dude drives an f150 and eats at Cracker Barrel after purchasing his clothes at Walmart. Something tells me that Harbaugh is far from materialistic. I know we are all pissed about the OSU beatings we’ve taken, but the guy has returned us to respectability. OSU was rolling along way before Urban took over, while we were in a nosedive dating back to 07. Harbaugh has the plane on an upward trajectory. I wouldn’t want anyone else at the helm of our program..now or ever.
December 24th, 2018 at 10:49 AM ^
Agreed
December 24th, 2018 at 2:15 PM ^
Ever? Continuity is great but there’s a tipping point where it’s to be negative on the program.
December 24th, 2018 at 6:38 AM ^
This was my favorite quote:
"Tweet about Harbaugh leaving and Michigan fans will call you a fraud, saying their coach is staying in Ann Arbor for life."
Anyone else get the sense that he enjoyed writing that?
December 24th, 2018 at 11:22 AM ^
And I’m enjoying writing that he’s a fraud. Harbaugh is staying in Ann Arbor for life.
December 24th, 2018 at 11:44 AM ^
Unless someone holds a gun to his head and tells him that either his signature or his brains will be on the contract, I just can’t see him leaving for the Jets.
December 24th, 2018 at 1:42 PM ^
Which he will refuse.
December 23rd, 2018 at 10:18 PM ^
There's no way the allure of Michigan is a match for the charisma and pull of *checks notes* weirdo scion Woody Johnson.
December 23rd, 2018 at 10:21 PM ^
I believe Brian Kelly would be perfect with the Jets except that a purple face and green jerseys do not match.
