Brandon Justice just posted this on Twitter “I’m told #Michigan has gained serious momentum in its pursuit (x2) of 5star Alabama commit Dax Hill. I don’t have a crystal ball, but if I did it’s on U-M.”

Dax to Saban: Yo, Sabes, so you’re saying Harbaugh is a valued commodity by the highest level of football? Where’s your NFL noise? You weren’t really the shit there, were ya? You didn’t work out too well at a level where your competitive advantage is already built in. Can’t do too much as a coach when teams are on a level playing field. That tells me all I need to know. I just wanted to come a lil closer a bit, make sure I understand exactly what it is you’re spewing. Now that I’ve got all my facts in line it’s pretty clear which direction I should take my commitment. I just wanted to tell you myself. Peace out you slimy two faced geriatric. Oh, and we comin for ya and it’ll be anything but peaceful on your way out.

Say it, Dax!! Say it! ?????

I hear Willie and Dandy Don singing "Turn out the lights, the party's over" on this one.  Hard to pass up once the Brinks truck pulls up!  Guessing that Alabama's Finebaum journalism school was the big pull to get him to flip.

I refuse to believe any of this.  I've had enough of the "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory" for one year.  Wake me up on signing day.

I'm sure Keegan is Georgia, Harrison is OSU and Hill is staying down south.  No need expecting anything different just to be disappointed again.

This seems quite odd. I can see the reasons he looked elsewhere if people got to his head ie don brown could be leaving, harbaugh rumors, etc. It would be rational for him to think "hmmm I want to be clear on these items before pen goes to paper". Fair enough.

But I don't get the tweet and instant commitment to bama, which it sounds like his parents, bama, and UM didn't know about. Why say anything? Why not talk it through with your parents?

I get it...18 year olds to 18 year old things but I give the kid more credit than that. There are pieces to this puzzle that are missing.

Dax coming back will likely be as much about what Giles and Cade and his fellow recruits are saying to him as anything else. Otherwise, Alabama playing innocent here...is not a particularly good look either...and their claiming so works further against them. Bama surely employed some under-handed, under-the-table tactics to elicit such an out-of-the-blue reversal.

If this breaks in Michigan's favor the naysayer, hater and hand-wringer responses will be most (eye-rolling) interesting.

I'll eat a lemon and shit myself simultaneously if he comes back. So I'm just going to do what's easiest and assume this is all smoke, no fire, and that he's all Bama until an NLI gets faxed into Schembechler Hall saying otherwise.

BREAKING: Dax Hill is working for the FBI and was wearing a wire when Saban dropped a load of cash on him. The quick tweet announcing his flip was necessary to complete the deal. It's admissible in court.

You gotta admit, after the MBB issues, this scenario doesn't sound all that far-fetched.

Is it possible Dax got some miss info about something bad, about the program,De-committed,then found out the truth ,,,Something is very strange about this

Here's a shitpost of speculation.

What do we know?

  • He de-committed suddenly, apparently surprising both sides.
  • He'd told the Michigan coaches he didn't want to sign in the early period, so that indicates some level of hesitation on his Michigan commitment, but the staff didn't seem worried by it.
  • Sam Webb indicates the rationale is pretty crazy (not in a bad way)
  • Hill is open to talking to Michigan and it's not over

So, impulsive decision by 18 year old?  Totally understandable.  What makes an 18 year kid impulsive enough to reverse on a huge decision, seemingly without consulting the parties involved?  Could still be anything, but... What made me impulsive at that age?  Betrayal, girls, money?

Not telling the Michigan coaches seems to indicate anger on Hill's part, a middle finger.  I'd guess he felt betrayed by something.  Then Michigan telling him that betrayal wasn't true, or at least mollifying it, allows them to stay in it.  Getting back in the race so quickly seems to indicate it was something fairly easily mollified.

What's pretty crazy though (as Webb mentioned)?  I would guess it was Brown telling Hill he was interviewing for the Temple job.  That could be seen as a betrayal and spawn some anger/impulse, but that doesn't seem that wild.  Maybe there was a string of events that inadvertently let Hill find out Brown was interviewing.  Then if Brown was able to get in touch and let him know he wasn't leaving, that would allow them to re-open the door fairly quickly.

Like I said, shitpost.

Crootin scenario - Dax hears all the rumors creating potential massive turnover at UM and gets nervous.  Bama is still in the market for a safety but is close to filling that spot so Dax has to make a quick decision and flips to secure his spot.  The OSU loss may have contributed to his concerns but I think it was more about coaching stability.  Someone was really trashing Harbaugh and Brown.  Recruiting is a dirty business, it really sucks.

I was just thinking that I dont remember this kind of awesome board speculation since Harbaugh was secretly fading away from SF and coming to Ann Arbor, all while trying to save face for the rest of the NFL season. True or not, message board soap operas are excellent entertainment. Let's hope this conspiracy turns out true like the Harbaugh saga did!

I don't wanna be that guy, but if I'm reading tea leaves, this plus Solomon, and even Rashan, point to Harbaugh's NFL connections paying off so that Michigan's shadow men can compete with the SEC.

Whenever there's unexplained weirdness, it's because there's things going on that everyone is doing that we can't talk about.

And frankly, it's about time.  We let tOSU do it for ages while sticking to our morals in the early 2k's.  After this year's game, fuck morals.

Would be great if it's true but every 5 star is seeing this:

FACT: Every Nick Saban SEC recruiting class has won at least 1 national championship.

Based on the above two, if you are a 5 star player, your odds of making it to the NFL are greater at Alabama than everywhere else.
