01/01/2019 - 10:23am He has done nothing to prove…

He has done nothing to prove he is a top 5 COLLEGE coach. You guys can bring in NFL stats and what not but that is not relevant to what is occurring now. A top 5 college coach (ex. Saban, Meyer, Fisher) would have us winning by now, especially given the resources we can provide. Solid coach, not great coach - probably the best we can get though for years to come honestly.

12/17/2018 - 2:40pm It's not the action itself,…

It's not the action itself, it's the why. And it if becomes a trend then there are underlying problems in the program. Either last year's class is dominating or there's a problem, and I'm not so sure they're dominating -  I guess we'll hold out hope though lol.

12/13/2018 - 2:18pm I pray man. If we keep him…

I pray man. If we keep him and Charbonnet I’m happy.

12/13/2018 - 2:16pm His points are valid. Should…

His points are valid. Should we just accept mediocrity after paying a coach one of the highest salaries in the game? I don’t get some of you. We could be 10 years into Harbaugh’s tenure without a B1G and you’ll still say “maybe next year” and just blindly follow every move he does. Simply put he’s underperforming and there is not a single decent excuse why (has all his recruits, been here for 4 years, down year in the B1G, etc.).

If we want to be like some of these programs or even fucking close we need to recruit at their level and properly develop the recruits - you know maybe with an actual RB coach and not the coach’s son. Unless he doesn’t want to there’s no good reason why Mike Hart isn’t coaching the RBs right now.

12/13/2018 - 8:56am Don’t dismiss the message…

Don’t dismiss the message just because who it’s from. He’s right, RB recruiting has been mediocre at best. Even without attrition none of the guys on that long list is elite (except for maybe the one that didn’t end up here). I don’t think calling out the truth makes someone an overly negative person. To be honest after watching that OSU game it looks like they have a different level of athlete at every position. Up to this day I can’t believe that game. Out coached and out played. I don’t understand what makes some of you endlessly positive. It’s about to be year 5 and I don’t think we’re close to making the next step (if we ever do under this regime).

If you look at my past posts I’ve literally said for years that it will be hard for us to be elite under Don Brown’s D. The way it’s set up you truly have to have better athletes and players than your opponents. That’s why you guys hail us as elite after beating up on shitty offenses but we shit our pants against a good modern offense (another point I’ve made for at least a year).

The O is progressing but the D has maxed out under Brown. We will never win a national title and maybe even B1G with his defense and I don’t think anyone could except for maybe Bama. But next year we’ll sack School for the Blind 10 times and all will be forgotten or forgiven. Embarrassing.

11/27/2018 - 8:21am Without elite athletes this…

Without elite athletes this style of defense just can’t work against a decent O.

10/22/2018 - 2:50pm Sure DPJ might squat a lot,…

Sure DPJ might squat a lot, but he’s not very “twitchy”. The best way I could put it would be he’s much faster than he is quick. Moore is so explosive laterally that approaching defenders hesitate when tackling him so they don’t end up on ESPN. He’s surprisingly powerful too.

Of course Moores don’t grow on trees though.

10/22/2018 - 2:44pm We have some explosive guys…

We have some explosive guys and we try to get them the ball, but the plays just don’t work for whatever reason. On every jet sweep I see Bell get it’s like he misses the open lane and either loses yards or gets like 2. Don’t get me wrong though, some of them get blown up because he didn’t have any blocking, but that’s rare. I actually think the receivers have blocked pretty well this year.

10/20/2018 - 11:58pm Glad to hear. That looked…

Glad to hear. That looked really bad.

10/20/2018 - 2:45pm Josh Uche is an elite pass…

Josh Uche is an elite pass rusher. He should’ve seen the field earlier than he did.

10/16/2018 - 5:16am Haha I’m one of those…

Haha I’m one of those Michigan fans in living in Cbus. You’d be surprised how many of us are down here.

10/02/2018 - 7:35pm I was confused about the…

I was confused about the move to viper in the first place. He needs the ball in his hands. That said, he seems pretty big to play receiver full-time. I saw him as primarily a RB playing WR and maybe even a little QB on the side (pretty good HS QB).

10/01/2018 - 1:29am I said this almost verbatim…

I said this almost verbatim a few weeks ago and got flamed lol. This scheme will only be consistently successful against teams with significantly less talent. I think stats can be deceiving.

10/01/2018 - 1:19am I agree Gary’s been great…

I agree Gary’s been great but I think he’d have a bigger impact on the team at the 3tech though. If we had someone that could get inside penetration like Hurst we’d be significantly better off. Not to mention we’d have more talent on the field. I’d rather have Paye on the field than Marshall, and that’s not a knock on Marshall. I just think Paye has been a standout.

09/30/2018 - 7:41pm Probably, but you never know…

Probably, but you never know with Snell - from my hometown.

09/29/2018 - 5:39pm This dude has said “Audrey…

This dude has said “Audrey Thomas” about 20 times. Is nobody correcting him or does he just not give a fuck?

09/29/2018 - 5:09pm Why do we make every QB look…

Why do we make every QB look like Tom Brady?

09/22/2018 - 3:18pm Roughing the passer? Yes…

Roughing the passer? Yes. But for God’s sake this is targeting?! They need to change that rule man.

Khaleke has to be smarter though I guess knowing that the refs are quick to call that.

09/22/2018 - 12:13pm I like Mason running the…

I like Mason running the ball. Looks much quicker than I would’ve thought, and of course he already has the power.

09/19/2018 - 4:08am Wow I’ve never seen anything…

Wow I’ve never seen anything like this. Where do they find these refs?

09/18/2018 - 11:44am That would be Ed Oliver.

That would be Ed Oliver.

09/17/2018 - 5:27pm The statistics don’t paint…

The statistics don’t paint an accurate picture. But if you really want to base your full opinion off of these stats would you rather have ND’s defense or Alabama’s? Alabama’s 4 spots back and I would take them every single day of the week, and I think almost anyone would.

Are you telling me you think Iowa has the best defense in the country?

09/17/2018 - 5:23pm I agree that was a dumb…

I agree that was a dumb comment, but you get his sentiment. I think it’s obvious he didn’t literally mean an exhibition game, there was some sarcasm involved. But this is just one example - people have freaked out for much less. I just don’t think every disagreement warrants getting cussed out and getting 100 negs. But that’s just me.

09/17/2018 - 5:02pm Notre Dame is not a top 5…

Notre Dame is not a top 5 defense. Above average? Maybe, but not top 5. Vanderbilt had more yards and touchdowns than us at ND’s stadium, and Ball State put up a performance that basically replicated ours. Their D will get lit up later this season. They are by no means elite, just overrated.

09/17/2018 - 4:28pm Well you would hope that…

Well you would hope that they’d pull out whatever it takes to win that game, unless they weren’t confident that the players could run those plays. I get hiding plays against WMU or SMU but ND is a little different. I don’t know why I see the “rational” fans flaming every opinion that they don’t agree with on here. No constructive dialogue. In every single post I’ve seen where someone may critique a player or coach all I see is “OH MY GOD YOU FUCKING IDIOT, YOU DON’T KNOW HARBAUGH’S A GOD?!!” Lol settle down. They’ve shown nothing to make us have a blinded faith in their decision making. There’s probably only two head coaches in CFB who have that luxury and we don’t have either.

Yes I’m happy we’ve won the past two games, but look at the competition. Don’t get too confident now.

09/17/2018 - 12:06pm Shea’s been about perfect…

Shea’s been about perfect IMO. I wonder if he’s saving the scrambling for more important games though.

09/16/2018 - 2:28pm I don’t think he should…

I don’t think he should start ahead of Evans but he definitely proved he belonged.

09/15/2018 - 9:09pm I liked Mettelus, I’m…

I liked Mettelus, I’m usually critical of him but I think he did his job for the most part.   If anything put Hawkins there.

09/15/2018 - 9:07pm Yep... like I said above, it…

Yep... like I said above, it’s either youth or the refs every single time. The players and coaches haven’t messed up once.

09/15/2018 - 8:45pm Enough excuses man. Any time…

Enough excuses man. Any time someone messes up it’s, “but he’s young!”, “but that quarterback is really good!, “but that’s not a Harbaugh recruit!”, “but the refs messed up!” - just make a fucking play for God’s sake. I’m not saying the shit’s easy, but if you repeatedly show that you can’t make the play then why are you still on the field after multiple games and/or seasons in Kinnell’s case. Throughout his career I can maybe think of 2-3 good plays he’s made on the ball off the top of my mind. You might as well have another LB on the field when Kinnell’s in - Metellus played great though. Of course he shows out the second he gets less reps.

09/15/2018 - 8:22pm Exactly. We don’t have the…

Exactly. We don’t have the DBs to be that aggressive.

09/15/2018 - 8:19pm To everyone downvoting this,…

To everyone downvoting this, how has Don Brown proved to you that he can field an elite, great, or even good defense against a good offense during his stay at Michigan? I know the blitzes look cool and fun to you guys but how effective has the D really been against a decent team?

The best case scenario is the other team scores something like 21 by halftime and we shut them out the rest of the game. But at that point it’s too late - especially with our inept offense. The man to man shit doesn’t cut it unless your DBs are very talented and disciplined, and simply put they’re not. The DBs are underperforming BIG. I thought Lavert was an All-American type corner but even Zordich said, “... it looked like he never played man to man” (referring to the ND game). And what’s up Kinnell being named “the most improved player” by the team? If he’s the most improved then I’m seriously concerned about this teams future/development.

I already know the first thing people will say to refute this is “BUT HE GAVE US A TOP 3 DEFENSE 4 YEARS IN A ROW!!!” or some shit, but I don’t give a fuck if we dominate shitty offenses (which we can’t even really do anymore) then go and give up 42 against PSU.

Until he proves otherwise I believe he can only field a decent defense if we greatly outmatch the talent of the offense.

This disappoints me the most too. I knew the O would be average at best but I really thought we could have an elite defense this year. I’d say we’re above average at best right now.

09/15/2018 - 4:15pm I love Tru Wilson man.

I love Tru Wilson man.

09/09/2018 - 2:55am Yeah I think If WMU and ND…

Yeah I think If WMU and ND were flipped the ND game would’ve been a lot different. Not that we’d dominate them but I feel like we’d know what we do well and what to leave out of the game plan.

09/08/2018 - 6:29pm Seemed good on D for the…

Seemed good on D for the most part. I just wish we could capitalize on more of the opportunities we were given. I counted 2 dropped picks. I know it didn’t matter today but those could be huge against a solid team.

09/08/2018 - 2:26pm Was that Kugler up there? If…

Was that Kugler up there? If so I didn’t know he got into coaching. Grad assistant?

09/08/2018 - 1:15pm Hutchinson playing great for…

Hutchinson playing great for a true freshman

09/08/2018 - 1:01pm Big play!

Big play!

09/08/2018 - 12:34pm On the last play they…

On the last play they seriously put Winovich at the 3tech and put Gary on the edge.

09/08/2018 - 2:10am I totally agree. I don’t…

I totally agree. I don’t listen when people say that because that’s implying these guys are perfect. If every coach was perfect they’d never be fired - they make mistakes.

I also think he could be much more disruptive on the inside. He’d be able to draw double teams from a guard and tackle as opposed to a tackle and RB or TE. I think that’d be much more useful for freeing the LBs to stop the run and it would make blitzing easier IMO.

09/07/2018 - 11:35pm If your players aren’t very…

If your players aren’t very good at man to man in Brown’s defense it’s actually relatively easy to attack, at least for a good team (not necessarily saying that’s the case for us).

Yes every team has vulnerabilities and bad games but there’s levels to it.

And I believe he’s referring to Cardale.

09/07/2018 - 8:16pm There’s a decent chance he…

There’s a decent chance he plays at the 3tech in the NFL so I guess it wouldn’t hurt to get some reps to show the scouts his versatility - especially if it helps the team in any way.

09/06/2018 - 11:32am (Nico Collins on Ambry…

(Nico Collins on Ambry Thomas)

According to fellow second-year player Nico Collins, there’s no one that can compare to Thomas when it comes to how fast he is.

“Nobody – that dude’s explosive!” Collins said. “He’s fast. He’s a great dude.

He continued: “We got a couple players on our team that’s fast, too. But Ambry’s like different. He’s a fast dude.”

This isn’t coming from me it’s coming from the guy who has to line up against him every day and practices with him every day. Now sit down.

09/06/2018 - 9:17am Haaha, I said the same thing…

Haaha, I said the same thing last year and everyone was like “JUST TRUST THE COACHES!!!”. I mean it only makes sense considering he’s literally the most explosive guy on the team (multiple guys say he’s the fastest), and we lack that kind of burst on offense - someone who can score whenever the balls in their hands.

09/06/2018 - 4:28am No we just wanted to average…

No we just wanted to average over 1.7 yards per carry and not have our QB run for his life the whole game. I don’t think many thought we’d light ND up, but shit, we wanted to see a noticeable improvement from last year at least. It’s still a long season ahead and there’s plenty of time to get better but people were just optimistic man. Every media outlet saying we were a good bet for the playoff probably didn’t help temper expectations.

09/05/2018 - 4:21pm You are exactly right about…

You are exactly right about Gary. I don't think of him as low motor though and i'd like to think Harbaugh wouldn't allow it. Who knows though. Maybe they told him not to get upfield and to contain the QB.

09/05/2018 - 4:17pm We could score 100 points…

We could score 100 points this week and nothing would change people's opinions. We're supposed to whip a MAC teams asses. The team can only silence fans and the media if they convincingly beat everybody from now until Wisconsin, pull off the win against Wisconsin, then beat a ranked MSU on the road.

09/05/2018 - 4:05pm Ok, so what's your reasoning…

Ok, so what's your reasoning on the statements he made? I'd like to hear the answers from your reasonable mind.

09/05/2018 - 4:03pm When Harbaugh took over…

When Harbaugh took over Michigan he had much more talent than Dabo had at Clemson. Hoke was a shitty coach but he was not a shitty recruiter.

Also when they both started their current jobs Clemson had much lower expectations than Michigan did, so I don't think it's odd that the media's on Harbaugh. Is it justified? IMO yes, but we won't know for sure until after the season.

09/05/2018 - 3:37pm I don't want to make a new…

I don't want to make a new thread but since you mentioned the corners I'll attach Coach Zordich's interview talking about the performance of the DBs. Interesting remarks. It's refreshing to see a coach be real and actually demand that guys are held accountable. He says, "... next play Vert (Lavert Hill) looks like he's never covered a guy man to man" We didn't see Hill much after that. He goes on to mention that Hawkins has to make that play. We need more Zordich's. I'm surprised he hasn't got a coordinator spot yet.
