This will be your thread for snowflakes and hot takes about the offense and offensive playcalling in our game against Rutgers.

Yeah I could not understand why the announcers were harping on this point all game. There's a max of 5 games left, he can play in 2 more. I don't think you can expect any garbage time against osu or in the post season. If for some reason you need him, you don't want his first pass to be on the road at OSU. He needs game reps, if he really is better than Peters then screw the redshirt and play him in every game if you have to. It's not a huge deal. Milton looks like a freshman out there. Peters is better than him right now and I have confidence that Peters can beat Indiana and Northwestern.

Not stupid at all. He either doesn’t play at OSU or the Championship game and gets his redshirt or he plays because we need him and he has gained valuable game experience.

Notice how engaged he was on the sideline all day because he was the backup. On the headset and with his wristband. That huge experience. And, save the “he should always be engaged” stuff - only the backup gets the headset and is therefore allowed that type of mental participation.

Michael Sessa was amazing on his one play at QB! Pushing Shea hard. ?

Peters made a perfect handoff on his one play.

Milton has some time to mature and gel as a QB.

Shea is getting better and better.

The most unimpressive 42-7 win ever. I hope Brandon Peters is the true 3rd string qb because they burned a Joe Milton game if they truly intended on preserving his red shirt.

Maybe their outlook would improve if we had a top 5 defense, beat three ranked teams in a row, beat a rival, improve the offensive line, get a better QB, have a 1000 yard rusher, have respectable backups at most positions, and be a realistic playoff contender. If we can do all that, I bet people would be more optimistic.

I thought before the game that Michigan would not cover the spread. Mainly because the game plan would be conservative to the max, and it pretty much was. No keeps for Patterson. Ran things that we’ve been seeing all season. Bell, Martin, Wilson, etc. all got plenty of snaps early to keep the impact off the starters.

It was enough to win against a completely outmatched opponent. I largely expect the same thing next week.

This game was difficult to watch. Not much energy out there. I hope they don't lose that momentum they've  built up over the past three games.

Passing offense has 19 TD and 3 picks for the year. QB was really holding us back until this year. That's why it's the most important position on the field

Amazing job with the passing game but how in the world did Higdon not get a 100 yard game like he had against Michigan state which has a MUCH better run defense.  Also I am confused as to the reasoning behind Milton coming in with potentially 5 more games ahead of us and only 3, now 2, games of redshirt eligibility left.  Was the 5 plays worth it?

Rutgers sold out to stop the run. We could have had anything we wanted in the pass game given how much cushion they gave out receivers. Run calls were vanilla. All that adds up to a bunch of pitch and catch after running into stacked boxes.

I also am not sure what all the hand wringing about Milton getting into the game is about. Milton is not playing in the BIG Ten Championship game or the playoffs if we get to either unless Shea and Peters both get hurt. Also by the time the playoff comes around Dylan will probably have recovered from the collarbone injury. Thats like a 4-6 week injury and he is already had a week to recover.

Let guys get some playing time he is redshirting this year. That might have been his last chance to get into a game this season.

Shea came to play. Absolutely love that guy, don’t have to worry about him competing. Interior O line on the other hand... Terrible, really poor performance. Nico has great hands, he catches practically everything. I can’t believe the lack of using Black in this offense. He is only out there on run plays. Martin out there contributing was awesome to see too.

Dumb. We had a ton of new shit last year.

Do fans like you watch games, or just make up shit and then complain about it.

RCMB is full of losers, but mgoblog is #1 in ill-informed, pissed off, sad sacks.
