The pressure was definitely there—at least in this game, the Rutgers QB seemed pretty good at realizing when he was in danger and getting rid of the ball. I don’t follow Rutgers closely enough to know if this a fluke or a strength of his.

Asking the real questions

11/10/2018 - 7:29pm Maybe their outlook would…

Maybe their outlook would improve if we had a top 5 defense, beat three ranked teams in a row, beat a rival, improve the offensive line, get a better QB, have a 1000 yard rusher, have respectable backups at most positions, and be a realistic playoff contender. If we can do all that, I bet people would be more optimistic.

Because Harbaugh was screaming from the sideline to do a FB Dive, Pep was screaming for a QB kneel, and Patterson misheard the call and accidentally threw a TD to a highly rated receiver.

10/28/2017 - 3:30pm To be fair...

To be fair, despite the performance boost Peters provided, I've yet to see conclusive evidence that he is "controlling the huddle".

Dodged the IU D like they were traffic tickets

10/20/2017 - 6:28pm Wrong Name

Let's not dip to the level of name calling. His name is Mark Diantoni.

10/08/2017 - 8:53pm Major Fail?

If our defense in Saturday's game consists of a "major fail", how would you describe our offense?

The D gave up 14 early before slamming the lock shut, giving the offense opportunity after opportunity that they could not/did not capitalize on.

I mean, sure, I wish we'd shut them out too. But the defense is f'ing amazing and doesn't constitute anything close to a major failure IMHO.

09/28/2017 - 8:28pm One of those situations

This is one of those situations where a sudden, unexpected development can suddenly turn into a litmus test of someone's character.

The corruption in general was a poorly kept, basically open secret to anyone who really paid attention.

The beautiful-ish thing about it is that no matter what stance someone took in the past, the present suddenly brings righteous judgment. Feigning surprise/ignorance while maximizing pageviews? Clinical opportunist. Raised repeated alarms that didn't garner attention until the whole thing exploded? Shows some integrity.

09/28/2017 - 8:15pm I recall hearing a few weeks

I recall hearing a few weeks ago that they were going to try to implement the new site during the bye week.

Working in IT, I extrapolated this to mean the 2018 bye week.

09/25/2017 - 11:17pm Unworthy

Not even worthy of a [stares, shakes head]. Musta caught coach in a good mood.

09/25/2017 - 11:58am Eh

Can't hate their fans. Their program is generating some excitement for once, I'm sure they're getting swept up in it.

Same can be said about their players...to an extent. So while their trash talking was a dumb move, I put it in the same category. The cheap shots, late hits, and the smiles thereafter, however, are a lot more troublesome to me.

Also, Coach Baldy needs some Valium.

09/16/2017 - 9:10pm DL

Our DL seemed to emerge from the game healthy too

09/15/2017 - 10:55pm Speight

Jameson. Always Jameson. Except when I run out of Jameson; then it's Bushmills.

Speight all the way. I hear people's complaints (and hoped we'd all see a clearer picture of Peters in garbage time against CU, but, alas...). Makes good reads, has shown promise in the past, mistakes are feasibly coachanle, and--most importantly--he seems like the best we've got at the moment.

Go blue!

09/14/2017 - 10:19pm You are correct

You are right, I am drunk, and this is fair comeuppance for blaming autocorrect for my own flaws.

Although, to be fair, I did say I wasn't a supermega GoT fan (though what I've seen is great). Also, to be fair, I'd rather look at Charlise Theron than Reek, so I'm going to excuse my own Freudian slip there.

09/14/2017 - 8:54pm Harbaugh leaving

As much as I'd like to think otherwise, I can picture Harbaugh leaving for the NFL under certain circumstances.

Those circumstances being: a MI NC (most likely to leave), or at least a B10 champ...both dependent on him feeling that he'd leave the program in good hands.

I hope he stays forever, do t get me wrong. But I feel like if HE feels that he has achieved the best he can at MI, and can leave the team confident that it will be in good hands, that he would/could return to the NFL to slay his Mobu Dick of being a winning Super Bowl coach. For the same reasons we love him--he is an intense, competitive dude, striving for the top.

09/14/2017 - 8:41pm Conspiracy theory

You know, this is one conspiracy theory that I can't say I fully buy into, but I find it real hard to dismiss.

I'm not saying it's because the refs hate Harbaugh. I'm not saying it's because the refs hate MI, or were bribed by OSU. Honestly, it could be caused by all or none of the above.

And--maybe--I'm just biased by being a homer with selective memory. But I don't recall any MI victories as the result of extending 1 second into 2.7 seconds. I don't remember any MI victories from an inexplicable 4th down spot in OT. I DO recall some dubious calls that went in our favor now and then...but never in a game-clinching situation. Granted, I never really WANT a game to come down to that, but a fair law of averages would put us benefitting from such calls around 50% of the time, and as far as I. An remember that just doesn't seem to be the case.

Maybe I'm being a homer (again), but some of these penalties/lack therof/spots seem reminiscent of the Lions.

EDIT: "Theron" to "Thereof". WTF autocorrect, I barely watch GoT

09/06/2017 - 8:47pm Yahoo

I'll be the first to admit I'm not educated on these subjects, but I feel like Yahoo did kind of try. The internet had largely passed them by but they had a few real strengths (fantasy sports amongst them) and a respectable amount of users to work with. I feel like they suffered from a combination of CEO gambles that didn't pan out and failing to accept that they'd likely never be as big as they were during Web 1.0.

As depressing as it is to say, I sorta view them as us starting Hoke year 2-3. They made a respectable, daring hire with at least initial positive gains. They had every reason to expect some measure of success, but poor decisions from the top ultimately doomed them to suboptimal performances. But Yahoo never got a Harbaugh/Brown to bail them out.

09/02/2017 - 11:42am As soon as I turned it on

As soon as I turned it on they were doing what looked like an in depth recap so I quickly turned the channel. When I turned it back they were showing FSU torching our secondary. Next up, a South Park-animated Urban Meyer crapping on a picture of Harbaugh.

09/29/2014 - 12:18am Questions for Monday's Presser

"Mr. Hoke, was the 'safety of the student-athlete your highest priority' when you ordered Gardner to 'stop limping' while he played ~20 minutes of football on a broken foot in last years' OSU game? Was Morris also being a bit of a drama queen on Saturday when he collapsed on the field and had to be held up by his teammate?"

"Sunday evening is a bit of an unusual time to release a statement on this, particularly with a presser scheduled for the next day. Can we ask your further questions about the Morris decision, or will you just point us to the release?"

"You mentioned in the statement that the coaches dont send injured players back into the game without the medical staffs' approval, but you claimed to be unaware of Morris' issues in the post-game conference on Saturday. Did a member of your coaching staff get the ok to send Morris out, or does the medical staff have the authority to freely substitute players without contacting you?"

"How many lawyers, football coaches and athletic directors does it take to whip up a meaningless piece of drivel that could be summarized as 'not my fault, lets just move on, k?'. No, seriously--I'm not telling a joke, I'm asking."

"Coach, any truth to the rumors that Brandon has already erected a billboard featuring a headshot of a dazed-looking Morris from Saturday with the caption 'When You Have One of Those 'Not All There' Days...Advil'?"

"...alright, I'm just gonna say it, how can you idiots look in the mirror at night?!"
