The OSU Defcon Level Is Set To Maximum.

A good friend of mine is a Buckeye slappy and he is beside himself over the Purdue loss and overall look of the program. He like many are noticing Michigan and the noise they are starting to make. Many of them won't outwardly admit it, but they are concerned that the football landscape is being reset by Jim Harbaugh and Michigan. The threat level has been set to Severe, link below from Eleven Warriors.

If OSU loses to MSU, that would be their second Big Ten loss.  Assuming we beat PSU, Indiana and Rutger, we would have zero Big Ten losses going into the Game whereas everyone else in the division would have at two conference losses... ergo, after the Indiana game, we would be assured of having the best record in the Big Ten East

derp - just saw the response after the page break.

Although the Purdue score was a bit surprising because, Purdue ... to me, at least, I’ve been expecting this sort of chaos within the program and the fan base.

Meyer looks like hell and is not well, IMO.  I have to imagine this scandal has really exasperated what seemed to be ailing him.   Further, and perhaps most importantly, the players — like I expected — seem to be having a hard time trusting and playing up to their potential for Meyer after his facade was lifted for everyone to see.  How does one — even a dimwit Buckeye — sit in meetings and listen to all the rah rah from a man who you KNOW is a pathological liar?  Unless you’re a complete sociopath, you can’t.

You can fake it and pretend you’re 100% locked in, but trust and belief are HUGE aspects of success in team sports.  What I saw Saturday night were two teams on complete opposite ends of the motivational spectrum — OSU quit on Meyer because they cannot remove the reality of him being exposed for what he really is.

I’m not saying it’s over, by any means.  But, between the way he looks and the way his players quit, things are not looking good in Columbus.   Clearly those that made the decision to keep Meyer overlooked or downplayed these concerns and they took the poison pill.  It’s festering inside the program, gnawing away at all those talented players minds.

Couldn’t happen to a better group of delusional, myopic sacks of shit!

You're giving way too much credit to people who intentionally went to OSU in the first place.  Everybody in that locker room either believes what Urban says or already knew he was a liar and didn't care.

True.  But usually it’s just a bad game and it seems to galvanize the squad.  This, IMO, is much more than just a bad game.  I believe they’ll be ready for Michigan, but like MSU found out last week, this is a very different Michigan team.  Obviously, nothing is guaranteed and it’ll be a fight.   But, OSU looks as vulnerable — both culturally and schematically — as I’ve ever seen then, and certainly under Meyer.

I love the fact that so many commenters on there are still in complete denial that Harbaugh is a good coach. They are starting to reassure themselves the way we did for so many years. "It's the Game! Throw out all the stats!"

It feels like we're on course to grind them to a pulp.

I was at the bar with a few of my Buckeye friends on Saturday and they too, think this is it for OSU and Urban.  They were saying Urban looks off/ill even before kick.  Needless to say, I had an amazing time after kick.

Still going to be the hardest game this team has to play all year. And it’s in Columbus.

OSU is definitely vulnerable, and they FINALLY have a non dual-threat QB, but let’s not pretend that there isn’t a very real chance that we lose that game.

I am throwing all of the past records out of the window for this game in Columbus. Forget the "we haven't won in Columbus in x amount of years." We are a different team this year. If the weather is good, we are going to win by a least two touchdowns. Ohio State has ONE real threat, and that is Haskins passing the ball. Actually, Haskins is very good at throwing the ball far down field. Big pass plays are their thing. A Couple of real hard tackles from Bush or Winovich will rattle Haskins, I think.

We are going to obliterate that O-line and create so much pressure, it will cause arrant passes and poor decisions by Haskins.

If we escape Penn State, and hold them to under 100 yards in the second half, we are going to cruise to the playoffs.

I think MSU can and maybe even will beat OSU.

we have to understand, that our kids, right now after beating MSU and Wisconsin, are having so much fun playing the game, they are not going to let up and lose to OSU. No way. Coach Harbaugh is going to make sure we win out.

Man, I love this team. Beat Penn State and we are easily in the top 4!

Welcome to our feelings on when RR was here as our offense tried to carry everything. I know how they feel, but dont feel any pity for them. Suck it buckterds!

BluFan. Ah yes, The 11warriors Michigan fan. Ends every post with "We are playing well, but you guys are totally going to crush us in Columbus. I just don't see how we can win that game."

I think he gets off on the ("You know BluFan, you are a "scUm" fan but you are so logical. Thanks for saying OSU is going to win at the footballs") posts.

Perfect example right here.

I'm not here to talk trash.

  • Imhe, Michigan still hasn't proven anything. I'm not convinced that Wisconsin or MSU were really good wins.

This guy lol.  What on Gods earth has OSU done to warrant a top 10 football team? Michigan has done exactly what Ohio State has done for the past 10 years. Beaten the ranked teams they should beat and move up to the top 5. Michigan has proven they are out to win this year.

They have proven to themselves, not just us fans, that they are going to win a Big Ten title this year and beat OSU in Columbus. MSU is just MSU. How do you think we are going to treat the OSU game this year? Michigan has proven a whole lot BluFan.

OSU certainly has more flaws this season, especially on defense, than they've had in years past.  But that Purdue loss could also be their wake up call.  My alert level remains sky high until we beat those fuckers.

They may be talking it up but until I see zeroes on the clock with Michigan leading in points, I'll continue to believe in the team but be cautiously optimistic instead of rabidly optimistic.  Establish a couple year pattern, then that side can emerge.  Even in '97 Michigan was thumping OSU and they came back.  Never trust that team of theirs.

Are the refs picked already for the game against Osu?

No Osu or Msu fan refs this time hopefully...?

I just Hope Don Brown prepares our boys for Haskins, Martell, and their 8th string QB. I’m tired of watching their QB get injured in the game and it turns out to be the best factor in their win over UM. Happened in 2014 and 2017.

Prepare for any and all QBs!!
