Never saw the "ur" prefix before. I seent it twice today regarding potential basketball opponents.

From what I've gathered it means "prototypical" or "original."

03/02/2019 - 12:24pm This was an article opposing…

This was an article opposing the government mandating (i.e.,requiring) vaccines.  It is a doctor group drawing a line saying "we know how our patients should be treated." It is not an anti-vaccine argument.  In order to back up their stance they are showing that vaccination is a medical procedure and that medical procedures have risks involved and that a doctor's input is necessary. A government mandate to vaccinate could eliminate this input.

What you are doing is taking their arguments supporting their position that vaccines can be dangerous to some and presenting it as if vaccines are dangerous to all. I think you are twisting their statement to justify being anti-vax.

A UL rated kerosene or propane heater can be safely used indoors. The CDC specifically indicated a gas camp stove in that faq, but even some of those can be used indoors.

I'm not advocating just running out and grabbing any old gas burning device, but to say DO NOT TRY THIS! isn't helpful when people are looking at these extreme cold temps.  Somebody with an indoor heater might see it and think that some new info is out there that precludes ANY use of these heaters.

Yeah, I don't get it either. It looks like he's trying to establish some sort of anti-hypocrisy street cred so that he can call out Liberty and avoid some imaginary Liberty apologist that is waiting to call him out on turning a blind eye to Michigan's hypocritical actions (whatever they may be).

Is there anyone that is defending Liberty's hiring of the the Baylor AD or Freeze on this board or on Twitter that the OP needs to insulate himself from?

Ran into the Mahomes/Kelce buzzsaw in week 13 in both of my leagues to miss the playoffs in one league and lose in the first round (20 teams/2 "conferences") in the other.  Would have had a bye, but lost by .02 pts one week. Just needed one more passing yard that week!

11/30/2018 - 9:59am This comment is dumb.  You…

This comment is dumb.  You took "brad" out of context as he wasn't simply saying that nobody pays attention to the barstool douche, he was making a joke about the douche sharing a name with a character in the movie Tropic Thunder.  That character, Portnoy, specifically warned the group to not pay any attention to him while he went through heroin withdrawal and was subsequently ignored by the rest of the group during a scene where he was trying to convince people to untie him while he was going through withdrawal.

Lastly, it would have only been ironic if the thread starter was the one who said "no pays attention to him." There are a lot of posts that are saying "no one should pay attention to him," but that isn't what you're trying to sound intelligent about.

While it was probably an accident, I could see how #72 would think that it was on purpose.

If Chase had turned and said "shit, sorry about that" or a "you ok?" that would have likely brought the prick's rage-o-meter down a couple notches.

I didn't see the deleted thread, but are you suggesting that Mike Hart has to openly criticize his boss and the team he works for in order to keep his "Michigan Man" status?  That seems dumb.

Agree. There is no way Don Brown is telling his guys to watch whether Haskins leans while the ball is being snapped.  All the reads/keys they've been getting the players to instinctively act on aren't going to be screwed with during the most important game of their careers. You dance with who brung ya.

I like the updates from the recruiting guys like Brandon Brown, but...

Most of these guys are just regular schlubs that filled a void in the "willing to pester high school guys" market.  I've got no issue with them trying to get some insight as to where a player is looking, but quoting them to tell me who compares to all-time greats like Desmond is difficult to read.

I know they are just trying to give a "reminds me of" type comparison, but c'mon he could've used Jeremy Gallon and not drawn from the Heisman trophy winner well.

09/18/2018 - 5:21pm Here's how I see paying…

Here's how I see paying players destroying college athletics as we know it (19-22 y/o playing for a limited time).

Once the schools start paying the players, they become employees. The schools are now no longer exempt through the niche carved out by the NCAA from the Sherman Act which prohibits unreasonable restraints on trade to promote competition.  How are schools going to tell a would-be sixth year player that he isn't allowed to continue his trade of playing football? Creating rules that locks out able-bodied competitors seems like a pretty clear violation of the Sherman Act.

Other sports are able to do this because of collective bargaining agreements that let the players collectively choose to follow certain rules (3 years from high school for NFL, 53 man roster).  The player unions don't mind these types of rules as the players are protecting themselves from competition and keeps their pay up, but what employee is going to vote for a rule that locks themselves out of making money when they are just reach their earning prime (ages of ~24 to 30)?

Since the schools will be required to let anybody work for them, college football just becomes a minor league team with a bunch of 28 year old's that are playing for a paycheck.  I think that would kill any connection the fans have with the players which would greatly affect the way they would support the team.

I also don't like the argument that we should just let the players make money off their likenesses.  This is just a veiled way of saying "let boosters give them whatever they feel like." Nobody really thinks that a high school prospect would be a good spokesman for The Related Companies, but big-time boosters will be able to essentially buy their own teams.

How happy would everyone be once some Russian oligarch or Kuwaiti prince's nephew decides he likes Michigan State football and throws money at a bunch of 5 stars for shits and giggles? I know this is a slippery slope argument, but there's nothing stopping it from reaching that level once the genie is out of the bottle.

09/07/2018 - 7:08pm WRONG! Harbaugh is so dumb…

WRONG! Harbaugh is so dumb he just has his quarterback stare off into space to pretend he is reading somebody when handing off.  This is apparently to trick the other team into thinking we are running option plays?

I love the UFRs because of their granular look at plays, but making definitive statements like "This is not an RPO" when it pretty clearly is forces me to look at them a little more skeptically.
