well, one block does not make a "blocker", but that was a pretty awesome start. Reminds me a bit of Mike Hart.

It does on MGoBlog. Just wait a week and the board will be calling for Tru to start at LT

If only we could upvote again...you would get many from me!

Mayfield and Hudson should have been pushing through by now. They're obviously bums. Wilson for LT!

He looks like Hart in the face

Teach Higdon Tru, teach brother...
September 10th, 2018 at 9:54 PM ^
I prefer Ben Mason teach backs how to block!
September 11th, 2018 at 11:56 AM ^
Higdon had made a similar block before. Consistently is what we are missing. We need a back to block like that consistently.

There is no fanbase in the country that concerns itself more with running back blocking than Michigan’s.
September 10th, 2018 at 11:30 PM ^
That's because other teams offenses spread defenses out and don't need rb blocking. We run an offense from the 80's.
September 10th, 2018 at 11:53 PM ^
Very true, when your rb can pick up a blitzing defender it automatically puts the offense in an advantageous position.
But sometimes people can go a little overboard like the multiple threads saying we need to get rid of jaybaugh because our backs aren’t great pass blockers.
Hell, I heard a caller on WTKA before the season say that the player this team will miss most from 2016 is Deveon Smith solely because of his pass blocking... now that’s ridiculous.

re: the offense
Did anyone happen to watch the Rams vs Raiders last night? Seemed like both offenses were similar to what Harbaugh wants to run. Obviously, west coast style, but the Rams open it up more. (Especially with the jet sweeps). Both had solid ground games too and receivers on long routes (and Goff had all the time in the world most of the game) They looked good last night, but I'm not sure we can execute it like that in CFB. A lot of nuance to the offenses and with professionals executing. Not saying it won't work in AA, but concerned that without the proper players (ie: o-line), we will struggle. Hope I am wrong, but if we start clicking, it's a nice offense to watch when firing on all cylinders.

Good to see a level somebody.

He was on hot fire. Running on all 8 cylinders. Modulating with a steady cadence.

Tru Wilson is the best RB currently on the roster.
September 10th, 2018 at 10:17 PM ^
Uggh. Everything you say is awful.
September 10th, 2018 at 11:21 PM ^
Tru Wilson is gonna stick his balls in Nick Bosas face. Give him the ole ball goggles you know. Michigan 68 - Ohio State 2.

This is the funniest comment on MGoBlog in a long time.

At what?
Definitely not the best at being a running back, as he is not one of the co-starters.
Probably not the best at blocking, as he isn't brought in on passing downs.
Best dressed? Possibly.
Best cook? Maybe.
Best student? Unknown.

The boy stays Tru, that's for sure.

You're going by those toothpick arms or the way he went low for the take-down?

Two takedown!

I enjoyed everyone in the stadium adopting the "Truuuuuuuuu" chant. Thought we lost "Mcdoooooooom" forever, now we have Tru. I love this fan base.

Tru that. Double tru!

The word coming out of summer and fall practice was that he earned his 3rd string role because of his ability to block. This clip goes to show those rumors may actually be pretty damn accurate.

Lol. You could see he was startled when he turned to look and the ball had already been snapped!

It seems like just about every single new thread these days is posted by the same 5 or 6 enthusiasts.

It's the same person, but they have 5 accounts.

Tru was impressive as was the McCurry kid.

That is a nice block. I like the shorts in the second photo too. Anyone know if they're available to the public, and where?
September 11th, 2018 at 3:57 AM ^
I say he be our passing down back!
September 11th, 2018 at 5:04 AM ^
Zach Gentry was wide open, dragging across the middle.

Damnit Dylan, 2 open guys short and you tucked it on this play. Throw the ball.

Sometimes players win in practice but in game not so much. Some players may not win in practice but in game rise to the occasion. Tru Wilson, based on the 1 game sampling, definitely gave an impression of being a baller.

I agree with the Mike Hart comparisons above, but more because of his running style: great instincts finding and hitting the hole at full speed. Plus the ability to fall forward when hit and get a couple extra yards. That's Mike Hart deja vu.
