Didn’t he only drop 4 spots...?

07/02/2018 - 10:07am You do have to factor in the…

You do have to factor in the sheer amount of carries he had too though. That has two large effects, the fumble per carry isn’t as high as it would seem and also when you run it that much and put the team on your back every game you get tired and ball security is diminished.

06/30/2018 - 1:06pm Why do you have 4 above 7?…

Why do you have 4 above 7? For both we have no idea how any will pan out, so that is a moot point. Sure #4 has more players and I think they fit well with what we need, but #7 still has better quality IMO.

06/24/2018 - 5:04pm I miss the TomVH days, so…

I miss the TomVH days, so much great information. Unfortunately his talent is being wasted over there at ESPN.

06/21/2018 - 9:22am This is a great point. I…

This is a great point. I would love to see analysis like this in terms of the star ranking when a player made the commitment. I'm sure there are a fair amount of 4* type players that went on to do extremely well that were a 3* when they committed. I know you can say they dominated after committing and earned the 4*, but the added attention from being committed to a big program certainly helps.

06/21/2018 - 9:19am Seth definitely wasn't…

Seth definitely wasn't arguing that, some of the comments here did sort of insinuate it though.

06/21/2018 - 9:17am This post is only in…

This post is only in relation to college so I would easily say the gap between Woodson>> Stribs is much greater than Brady>>Henne and it not really even being close.

06/03/2018 - 3:56pm He was the perfect college 4,

He was the perfect college 4(which Izzo misused) , but I agree that I think he is too small for the NBA 4. If a team wants to really go small ball they could try it out, but I think he would get wrecked on defense and on the boards. I also think he's not quick enough to be at the 3 position. His first step on both defense and offense was too slow in college, that will only be even more dramatic in the NBA. He really is a tweener. With that said, I do think he could be a pretty good bench player for years in the NBA, I just never see him being elite.

05/22/2018 - 10:57am If I remember correctly it

If I remember correctly it was more in context about how bad college athletes at any school have it. It still was an odd comment at the time.

05/20/2018 - 9:01pm It is good to see that you

It is good to see that you can tell when someone is joking around...

05/06/2018 - 8:25am I don’t like him, but damn do

I don’t like him, but damn do I respect him.

05/02/2018 - 11:59am I highly doubt it was given

I highly doubt it was given out without permission first and more importantly I doubt they care. People who donate anonymously like this are doing it because they believe the cause is a good cause and don’t want their donation to be perceived as only being done for good publicity. Well, I think it’s safe to say they weren’t doing it for those reasons and just wanted the players to have a great experience.

04/19/2018 - 11:34am The NCAA doesn't tend to

The NCAA doesn't tend to follow logic in things like this unfortunately. I think they prefer the coin flip method.

04/11/2018 - 9:23am I feel dirty not rooting for

I feel dirty not rooting for the USA. I’ll likely root for team USA To win, but for Iggy to dominate and be the best player on the court.

04/11/2018 - 8:41am Sounds similar to the Simmons

Sounds similar to the Simmons story. It never hurts to have a grad transfer that has experience if we have room.

04/03/2018 - 1:54pm Didn't show up? What the

Didn't show up? What the fuck? There is only 1 winner and while it pains me to say it, Nova was the better team last night despite our best efforts. Divencenzo was hittting contested 3's from 30 feet, sometimes it is just one of those days. These guys played their heart out and gave it their everything and played a damn good game, it just wasn't enough yesterday.  We may not have won it all, but this season was a huge success and I'm very happy for all the players. Not that a guy in the band would know anything about that though. You sound like a whiny little bitch.

04/03/2018 - 1:42pm I seriously think we will be

I seriously think we will be better next year. Unfortunately it will be pretty damn hard to be more successful than this year though. Pretty much the only way to be more successful would be to win the NC, which I hope we can do.

04/03/2018 - 8:07am Lol, come on. Z is starting

Lol, come on. Z is starting next year. The reason we had this amazing run was in the back of his defense.

03/31/2018 - 10:35pm It scares me because up until

It scares me because up until this game I was sure he was coming back.... if we win next game who cares though!

03/31/2018 - 9:53am I agree that Zavier is

I agree that Zavier is important for this game and shutting down Custer is important. However, I wouldn’t say they are excessively dependent on him. They have 5 guys averaging double figures, which is pretty damn good.

03/25/2018 - 8:44pm That was legitimately the

That was legitimately the quickest hail to the victors sang in unison I have ever heard. I'm not sure if I'm more impressed by that or the game.

03/25/2018 - 1:24pm I highly doubt Matthews goes.

Double post.

03/25/2018 - 1:23pm I highly doubt Matthews goes.

I highly doubt Matthews goes. He has the potential to be the man next year and drastically increase his stock. Mo could go. I don't know how much more he can increase his stock, but unfortunately for him he is still realistically projected in the 2nd. If both come back then we are in awesome shape next year. I hope they both come back, but I could see Mo going.

03/25/2018 - 12:45pm Why would we be surprised

Why would we be surprised that our Football coach congratulated our basketball team? Why would he worry about snark? Why would there be any personal cost? Why does this post seem so much more dramatic than it needs to be? I have so many questions. Harbaugh congratulated the team just like Beilein would have done for our football team if we were going to the playoffs. It is a nice thing for him to do, but far from some huge statement.

03/23/2018 - 9:47pm This just goes to show that

This just goes to show that you likely didn't play much basketball and don't know much about basketball strategy. Breaking a 2-3 zone like that is done by working through the man at the FT line. He needs to be able to shoot a mid range jumper, hit a pass, or drive. 3's are not the only way to beat a zone, matter of fact settling for 3's is a surefire way to lose against a zone unless your team is on fire that day. JJJ is a perfect player for this position. Miles bridges would be a great player for this position as well.

03/18/2018 - 6:38pm While I agree JJJ didn't look

While I agree JJJ didn't look great today, I completely disagree that he isn't the type of guy that has success against that zone. He has the perfect skill set to put in the middle and kill a zone like that. Unfortunately for him he didn't execute well today when he did play.

03/16/2018 - 11:59am I thought Trae Young would be

I thought Trae Young would be an annoying teammate, but this guy takes it to a new level.

03/16/2018 - 11:52am He will get his, he

He will get his, he definitely won't be completely shut down. However, holding him to 12-15 points, which is under his 19.2 ppg would be adequate. Honestly, even holding him to roughly his average would be fine. When people say they think Z will shut him down I think this is what they mean, that he will hold him check.  What we don't want is for him to absolutely go off and dictate the flow of the game with a 25-30+ point game. That is where Z, MAAR, and Matthews all will need to be on their game to hold him down a bit. That is also where I am very confident. I'm not confident that he will be completely shut out, but instead will just have a bad game relative to him. I think he'll end with around 15 points but will also have quite a few turnovers forced by our defense.

03/16/2018 - 11:28am My question is who do we put

My question is who do we put on Gray? I'm not all that worried about it since the question stems more of the fact that I think we have a few guys that would do a great job.  I assume we start with Zavier on him due to his quickness and great defense, but I also think having MAAR or even Matthews on him a bit due to their length and great contests could be beneficial and could throw him off his game a bit. I think Zavier will get most of the minutes on him though. Gray is pretty turnover prone, so I like a guy like Zavier there to force those turnovers.

03/15/2018 - 1:11pm To be fair to him, I

To be fair to him, I typically don't notice the title of a comment a lot of the times on here, especially when the body of the comment can be a standalone idea.

03/07/2018 - 7:38pm Both Johns and Dejulius I

Both Johns and Dejulius I think will be stars. They both fit perfectly with beilein.

03/04/2018 - 10:30pm They really play well

They really play well together. I don't think it is the most talented, but damn, they really may be the best actual team he's had.

03/02/2018 - 12:20pm I'm the exact opposite. I

I'm the exact opposite. I normally don't like Jordan's, but I may actually pick up a pair of these. I really like them compared to a lot of the previous ones. Just goes to show different styles for different people.

03/02/2018 - 11:33am It is odd seeing our defense

It is odd seeing our defense play so well defensively. We put Duncan Robinson on the opposing team's best player at times and it actually works out. He may not be the most athletically gifted defensive player, but the coaches have done an amazing job making him extremely effective on the defensive end. They have done a great job with everyone, but Duncan especially stands out to me from his improvement. Credit goes to him as well for putting the work in.

02/19/2018 - 7:39pm Well the class says it starts

Well the class says it starts on the hour on your schedule, it just is known to start 10 minutes after. So your schedule would say 8am but the class starts at 8:10 am.

02/14/2018 - 10:59pm That’s good news. I think he

That’s good news. I think he is a pretty damn good oc and a decent hc that had a few bad breaks at Florida to make him look worse than decent. Im honestly just happy to see the OC responsibilities move to someone new.

02/12/2018 - 8:57am I stopped watching after

I stopped watching after watching the performance after his because of how ridiculous the scoring seemed. I am all for encouraging difficult performances, but you still have to be able to perform the difficult performances. The guy after him fell many times yet still somehow got a better score than Rippon who's performance was damn good. If you are falling many times, I don't care if it is a hard performance, because you didn't actually successfully perform the hard performance.

02/07/2018 - 10:16am The one thing that bothers me

The one thing that bothers me so much about basketball is that the refs tend to affect the outcome of the game more often and more severely than other sports. You definitely see it in other sports, but the refs affect the outcome of basketball a lot more often even if not on purpose. It is extremely inconsistant game to game and even minute to minute.

02/06/2018 - 5:37pm Nunez's form is so much

Nunez's form is so much better than hunchback Mcquaid's. Honestly, other than the fact that they are both labeled as "shooters", I don't see that as a good comparison.

02/06/2018 - 11:05am I had no idea he started so

I had no idea he started so late. That may actually explain his great form. Most people develop terrible habits when they are younger due to just not being strong enough to put up a shot with good form and that continues through there life. Typically people who have great form do a complete change of their shot in their mid to late teens once they have developed a bit, but a complete form overhaul is extremely hard to do and maintain. Starting so late he likely was able to develop a shot with good form since he had the strength already.

02/01/2018 - 5:36pm Well, fuck...

Well, fuck...

01/18/2018 - 12:16pm It certainly can't hurt.

It certainly can't hurt. Really hoping he sticks with us.

01/17/2018 - 2:09pm Dejulius could be something

Dejulius could be something special. He has an extremely quick change of direction that makes his stutter step and crossover lethal. He also can hit from very deep, since many of his threes are pulling up in someones face from nba three distance. Combine all of that with the fact that he is already a pretty strong guard and I am very excited for him. I think he is going to be damn good here, and I am surprised he isn't rated higher than he is. Between him and Brandon Johns, I think there is a very good chance Mr. Basketball goes to a future Michigan basketball player for the 2nd year in a row.

01/17/2018 - 12:18pm Just another reason I am

Just another reason I am slowly using 247 less and less. They are paywalling off more and more things, and I don't think their site is worth subscribing right now. I likely will eventually not go there at all at this rate.

01/16/2018 - 7:24pm It is sort of surprising

It is sort of surprising since he is only a sophomore and Hunter Rison is also transferring which would give him an immediate boost up the depth chart. Not to mention Trishton Jackson could very well be the highest rated skill player on MSU's team, not that stars and ratings matter, but still interesting.

01/16/2018 - 6:59pm Damn, I knew dejulius was

Damn, I knew dejulius was putting up a stupid amount of points in games, but I had no idea he already had NBA 3 range. Some of those shots in that video are from extremely deep, and that all was 1 game not just a highlight film from over the course of a season. I am extremely excited about him for the future.

01/16/2018 - 9:15am It is crazy to me that MAAR

It is crazy to me that MAAR is already a Senior, it feels like just yesterday he was a freshman and thinking how good he was going to be. He has had a great career. He also will be the only player of his 6 man recruiting class to stay all 4 years. Granted, DJ wilson went to the draft so he doesn't really count. Doyle transfered, Chatman transferred, Dawkins transferred, and Hatch unfortunately had injury issues. I remember being extremely excited for Chatman, and he just was not that good unfortuantely. MAAR is the last man standing, and while I don't think he'll get much time in the NBA, he definitely will be able to continue his basketball career and do well in Europe if he wants.

01/16/2018 - 9:03am I love Beilein.

I love Beilein.

01/16/2018 - 9:01am Beilein's teams always

Beilein's teams always improve over the season. When we don't look good at the beginning of the season I no longer worry like I did in the past, because by mid/late january or early February Beilein always has the team playing well or at least starting to click well. He truly is a great coach.

01/15/2018 - 10:31pm I love how calmly he says it

I love how calmly he says it too.
