But, but, but... Alabama is the BESTEST TEAM EVAR!!!!11!!!!
January 3rd, 2014 at 1:02 AM ^
Ya, I really wanna hear Mark May's reaction after predicting Alabama to win 48-10, or something like that.
January 3rd, 2014 at 7:15 AM ^
Why does anyone ever want to hear anything Mark May or Lou Holtz has to say? They are bafoons. Their halftime suggestions were that Alabama has to take care of the ball. Brilliant! Its like saying, "to win, one team has to score more points than the other." They are nothing but empty windbags. The fact that anyone pays attention to them is beyond me. It says more about the quality of thought that attracts us than anything else.
Perhaps that rant means that I paid attention to them. Shit.

Exactly. I, for one, enjoy watching Holtz slobbering like the French mastiff in Turner and Hooch. Probably why May sits so far away from him.
January 3rd, 2014 at 9:47 AM ^
The wife, who has never watched Holtz on TV before, saw him the first time last night. Her reaction was like "How could ESPN, with all the money, hire a mumbling funny old talker like him?" I was like, "Darling, his sole purpose of existence has been debated by so many people but no one truly understands it. In the end, we all agree that it is the greatest mystery of our time."
January 3rd, 2014 at 1:43 PM ^
My wife asked why he is orange.
January 3rd, 2014 at 11:29 AM ^
put together, so it just goes to show that it is hard to go on ESPN and sound intelligent. I agree that he doesn't sound insightful, so, because obviously he knows tons about football, logically it must be difficult There are very few that seem able to do so.
January 3rd, 2014 at 9:41 AM ^
and he has arguably the best D talent in the country. Makes that loss a little bittersweet.
January 3rd, 2014 at 10:16 AM ^
Yup, Alabama's defense really wasn't very good this year. If Auburn loses, the SEC ends up looking very average this year. Awesome.
January 3rd, 2014 at 12:38 AM ^
Saban will not sleep for one single second this offseason. All part of The Process.
January 3rd, 2014 at 12:39 AM ^
I honestly thought he was gonna have an aneurysm yelling at the refs there at the end. LOL
January 3rd, 2014 at 8:51 AM ^
He never sleeps anyway. This year it's about inventing a time machine so he can spend twice as much time preparing.
January 3rd, 2014 at 12:40 AM ^
2014!!!!!!
January 3rd, 2014 at 12:44 AM ^
Don't forget Jerry Montgomery was the coach of that DL. The one that tore up the vaunted Alabama OL for 7 sacks.
He left in 2013 though, so that's all that counts right???

Sidenote: Stoops is only coach to have won all 4 BCS bowls (in the era...maybe ever?!)
January 3rd, 2014 at 12:46 AM ^
I think he did it also
January 3rd, 2014 at 3:16 AM ^
Yes he did... both have also won the Cotton, which was a major bowl in Paterno's day and will be again starting next year.
there aren't a lot of other options as before the BCS era you'd have to have coached an independent AND a B1G or Pac-8/10 team to check them all off
January 3rd, 2014 at 1:23 AM ^
has won all 4. just not in the BCS era.
January 3rd, 2014 at 2:42 AM ^
Correct, but Coach Stoops is the key.
The point above about Paterno maybe having won all four through his career could be correct too, something I might be taking a half hour to figure out (i.e. what coaches have done this "feat").
January 3rd, 2014 at 11:04 AM ^
did he win all of the major bowls (now to include the Fiesta), he did so at least twice over with the exception of the Rose Bowl, with only a single win at Pasedena.
January 3rd, 2014 at 3:15 AM ^
Bo also had the chance to win all 4 himself... coming up a combined 10 points short of checking off all four
January 3rd, 2014 at 12:42 AM ^
he has lost two in a row - he sucks!
January 3rd, 2014 at 12:45 AM ^
I can't wait to hear what Bama fans' excuse will be for this beating! The PI call, even though it was a mugging?
January 3rd, 2014 at 1:03 AM ^
This seems like a quote Dave Brandon would take at face value and use later to talk about how dumb fans are who want new coaches.

I'm just happy Dave Brandon didn't schedule Bama for the first game of 2014. I'm taking Alabama -113 over West Virginia
January 3rd, 2014 at 12:47 AM ^
You got action here. I'll even take WV with only +50
January 3rd, 2014 at 1:42 PM ^
There's a lot of suckas on this board...

I'm not one for schadenfreude normally, but the nation needs, nay deserves this.

Nick Saban better get on his players' dicks this offseason.
Signed,
Amir Williams
January 3rd, 2014 at 12:51 AM ^
I just had to search what this meant. Thanks for the laugh.
January 3rd, 2014 at 1:04 AM ^
Mind explaining? I don't want to search "dicks" on google.
January 3rd, 2014 at 1:14 AM ^
Watch the clip man. Google Amir Williams and its right there.
January 3rd, 2014 at 1:21 AM ^
I just searched Amir Williams and it was the first thing that came up. It really is one of though things where you have to watch it. But basically this reporter asks Amir Williams(OSU basketball player) about his performance. Williams says, "coach has been riding my dick uhhhh back lately."
Here just watch this:

It has just been the SEC bullshit machine. League has a lack of elite QB's? Well then just talk about how great the defense is! No one self-promotes better than the SEC.
