I actually don't think it would alienate some of the fanbase

I actually don't think it would alienate some of the fanbase. I would probably be more inclined to watch the Pistons, not less. And Michigan State fans are usually very complimentary of Beilein from what I've seen, so it shouldn't hurt in that regard either.

I agree with you that the move makes little sense career-wise, though. It might be the most un-Beilein roster in the NBA. Bad team with bad contracts, etc.

Awesome

Great decision for Michigan, and I think an excellent decision for Charles as well. Michigan should be a national contender once again next season.

Minnesota

Minnesota and Indiana (twice) were huge breaks for Michigan. OSU also missed a 20-yard field with 5 minutes left in 2016, which was an enormous gift that we didn't capitalize on. I like Harbaugh, but this narrative that he's just so unlucky is ridiculous. Fans always forget when their team gets a break, but the bad luck sticks with them.

A few posters

A few posters predicted 8-4, but not many were saying that at all. I'd say the median prediction last year was 10-2.

It's not like Michigan

It's not like Michigan just got better in a vacuum, though. MSU returns as many starters as Michigan does and beat us on our home field last year. OSU is OSU. Wisconsin will be better. Not to mention games @ND, @NW and home to PSU. Under no circumstances is 10 wins pessimistic. This could easily be a close-to-great team that goes 9-3 or 8-4 if the ball bounces funny.

This is a five year rebuild

This is a five year rebuild. The Tigers should be losing as much as possible now and stockpile draft picks. They'll be competitive again in 2022 or 2023.

I remember

I remember before the Michigan-OSU basketball game in 2013 (my freshman year) they blasted Levels right before they opened the gates to let us in. For that game Dave Brandon had orchestrated some tent idea with makeshift gates to form a line. Chaos ensued as people stormed into Crisler. One of my favorite moments from undergrad.

Misdemeanor seduction of a woman

Misdemeanor seduction of a woman for forcible rape.

Izzo is a cockroach

Izzo is a cockroach. There could be video of him orchestrating a gang rape in his basement and the sycophants at MSU would say it was doctored by ESPN.

If you can't block inside zone

If you can't block inside zone correctly, none of this even matters.

Haymaker in Ann Arbor

Haymaker in Ann Arbor. Many hugs with strangers. It was awesome.

UVA definitely

UVA definitely takes the smartest shits.

I know the acronym doesn't match

I know the acronym doesn't match, but I prefer Infowars State University given that their administration and fanbase believe there's a massive FBI/NCAA/Blue Wall/media/ESPN/Paula LaVigne/Yahoo/Pete Thamel conspiracy against MSU.

Zavier Simpson

Zavier Simpson was left off the All-Defensive team for Anthony Cowan. Comical.

Zach Drevno

Zach Drevno committed to Vandy a few weeks ago. Tim is following him there.

UCLA

UCLA is falling off a cliff, and by falling off a cliff you mean they've won 6 of 7 including a win @ Arizona.

So toss in Harbaugh

So toss in Harbaugh and we now have 4 offensive coordinators? Great. Great.

Things can always get worse

Things can always get worse.

Hopefully the roles are well-defined

Hopefully the roles are well-defined going into the year. We know when they're not Drevno has a history of winning power struggles against others on staff.

Serious question

Serious question: How can you reconcile the last sentence with the rest of your post? Nothing about this seems streamlined at all. Not trying to shoot the messenger, I guess I'm just confused.

If we win today

If we win today, that will be one of the best weekends of Michigan sports I can remember in a long time. Beat Top-10 OSU in basketball and #1 ND twice? Incredible. Go Blue!

So fun to watch

So fun to watch. To spin off a Harbaugh phrase, this is an ascending program. The team is peaking right now and the next two years look so bright.

Zavier Simpson was excellent today on defense, as usual. His perimeter pressure gave us so many opportunities on the other end. Also, good to see Simpson try out a new free throw routine. I think it's all between the ears for him, so its was great for him to make 4/6 using the new routine. From what I recall 5 of the 6 looked solid. It would be huge (both from an offensive and defensive standpoint) if he can be out there in the last few minutes when we have 5-8 point leads.

Just keep on winning for the victims

Just keep on winning for the victims. It's the only way they'll heal.

I'll stop with the shark fucker thing

I'll stop with the shark fucker thing when the offense shows a pulse.

One thing that has not changed

One thing that has not changed: absolutely horrific officiating at the Kohl Center. Happ elbowed Wagner virtually every single possession in the post. Never called. And the Davison 3-point leg kick was one of the worst calls I have ever seen.

I have to disagree

I have to disagree. I despise Coach K, but Duke does have two national tites in just the last 10 years and three since 2000. Notre Dame has won nothing in 25 years.

What is Friday class?

What is Friday class?

Meritocracy

Meritocracy, as long as you run a stale and ineffective pro-style scheme.

Your last sentence

The first part of your last sentence should tell you why the second part of your last sentence won't happen. But I agree. 15,000 sycophants rabidly cheering Tom Izzo is just so disgusting to see.

For what it's worth

For what it's worth at this point, the Bracket Matrix has us as a 6-seed right now. Lunardi is historically average (at best) at being accurate with seeding.

Honestly that wouldn't change much

Honestly that wouldn't change much KenPom-wise since it's on a per-possession basis. If we got those calls late and got a 1 or 2 point win the impact would be negligible on KenPom.

Another stunning fact

Another stunning fact: Michigan is #29 in RPI, MSU is #30. And there isn't much separating the resumes either. I'm not sure why Michigan is viewed as an 8/9 seed and MSU a 2/3 right now. MSU has wins over two tournament teams, UNC (neutral) and ND at home. Michigan has wins over UCLA, Texas (road) and MSU (road).

He's so tough

He's so tough that he'll leave MSU with a losing record against Michigan. Cool, dude. You're tougher.

This sounds like a Weinsteiny kind of deal

This sounds like a Weinsteiny kind of deal based on the article.

Livers is like Duncan

Livers is like Duncan except for being a better shooter, defender, athlete and all-around basketball player. Duncan's a good kid but I think Livers made the leap tonight. He should start moving forward or at the very least split minutes equally with Duncan.

Unfortunately

Unfortunately, we'll have nearly 2 weeks off before the tournament this year.

We look so sloppy on offense

We look so sloppy on offense. First team in Beilein's tenure when the defense is more reliable than the offense.

Wake Forest

Wake Forest has won 41% of their games in program history. Caldwell won 29%. That is terrible even by Wake Forest standards.

The guy

The guy went 26-63 as a college head coach. He is beyond atrocious. He is Black Brady Hoke.

It's not a bad thing

It's not a bad thing to be sitting at #52 going into conference play, it's just something that could have easily been avoided. It's hurts our margin for error (if we need it) to get into the tournament, and hurts our seed line if were safely in.

Yep, exactly my point here

Yep, exactly my point here. And the difference between the games on our schedule and the hypotheticals you gave is pretty small in terms of winning percentage. You're still going to be something like 90-95% favorites in those games compared to the 98-99% we'll have in our three body bag games coming up.

Not only just points

Not only just points, I think you should have an account for a couple of months before you can start a thread. We've seen so many people get into the thousands in just a couple of days.

Not only that

Not only that, using the phrase "just an observation" when you're taking a shot at someone is passive aggressive as hell.

5?!

5?! Please share!

The Dean of Discipline

The Dean of Discipline would be ashamed by this kind of behavior!

He summarized

He summarized in a very short paragraph. It's really okay.

What a big win

And I'm sure we treated Shea to a good time!

Garrett Moores

I have mentioned this "cool story bro" before on here, but Garrett Moores' dad actually took out my wisdom teeth last year. Great guy.
