Drevno to Vandy?

Submitted by LS And Play on

Some major smoke from Victors Board/Board #5 that TIm Drevno is leaving for Vanderbilt. Warriner would ostensibly be the OL coach in this case. Take it for what it's worth.

Wwwwwwwwwwow. Huge. Hope it's for the best. I was just reading online that drevno was creating serious interpersonal problems, trusting no one and not earning trust, butting heads with everyone, etc.

Hope warriner can get our O Line straightened out.

Any insight as to what this does for the Calvin Anderson possibility?

We all know he is talking to Patteson and that Patterson is actively recruiting him. There is no guarantee from the dreaded NCAA that Patterson will be eligible. That's not Anderson's fault. Just the way it is. Anderson has that slight Texas lean. Here's to holding out hope because everyone believes Shea will be eligible next fall.

"8 lb, 6 oz cherubic Baby Jesus who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name, please free our beloved Michigan Wolverines of the enduring blight that is Timothy David Drevno and inflict the sickening abomination that is his "coaching" on a hapless SEC school. Which one we don't particularly care. Vanderbilt maybe. In my yard, upon my birdbath altar, I offer thee infant formula made from holy water that I stole from the local Catholic church, as well as a Playskool Sesame Street playset.

Amen.

P.S. Thanks."

I’d have mixed emotions: happy for the change, but sad that I’m always have a sense of doubt whenever umbig11 posts again.

did say he wouldnt be surpised if pep or drevno were gone by march, he cant read the future, so based on that he had a pretty damn good hunch of what might happen and sounds like he may be right with drevno possibly gone to vandy

he probably would have been right about pep too but umbig couldnt predict that pep was so bad he wouldnt get any other coaching offers so harbaugh gotta help his buddy out with a job

you are a troll! wtf man? your name gives you up.

The hip viewpoint is this: umbig11 is a insider but is also at constant risk of the program purging him. They give him "fresh meat" every now and then to find out who he is and crush him. he has only his wits to decide truth from fiction and share with the board.

Where have you been man?

Actually, reading threads on the rumors of staff shakeups, this is one of the thoughts I keep having - the offensive line is Warinner's thing almost everywhere he has been and he has built some really good ones, and Harbaugh hires him as an analyst? There was something incomplete and missing in this picture. Alternatively, it could be that something was being removed potentially from another part of the "picture", if you will, and if Drevno was roundaboutly being told he was leaving.....I don't know, the hires make more sense then.

I could be all wrong here and if so, never mind this post, of course.

I mean I'm half-serious, I'm sure Harbaugh's friendship with Mason opened the conversation and Drevno certainly has the resume to be Vandy's OC/Co-OC. Mason is on the hot seat this year due to their offensive woes, so maybe Jim pitched it as a fresh start for everyone.

And Frey is a good coach but zone blocking, in addition to power, was too much for college players to learn

Harbaugh ran some zone with Stanford, the 49ers and the first two years at Michigan. Basically every program does both; the "no identity if you run gap and zone" take is an uninformed one.

The 2017 team was decent-to-pretty good at shotgun IZ plays by the end of the year without threatening a QB run, which makes success more difficult. Potentially something to build on, particularly if they want to incorporate zone-read or RPO concepts.
