People can remember it however they want, just as long as they run it by you first to make sure it is acceptable, it seems.

That's the reason small schools get hammered so often by the NCAA. Maybe at Michigan they can throw one of their army of compliance bureaucrats at the job to make sure every player is following the exact letter of the law. Not so easy at a small D-1 school that maybe has a handful of full-time employees in the entire athletic department that are already stretched thin with the thousand other BS rules they have to follow.

For the record, I prefer Big Ten titles to McDonald's All-Americans. YMMV.

You have to keep in mind that almost $0.30 of that goes into the labor of making the shorts alone. So yeah, $70 seems pretty fair.

Same number as that dancing guy on the football team, and people here wanted that guy's number retired, so QED.

It's not like it's a huge deal. No school is going to let a coach's contract "just run out". It just ups the buyout to get rid of him a tiny fraction.
Wisconsin didn't extend Mike Eaves under similar circumstances last summer and it ended up saving them about $100k in buyout money when they fired him this year. If $100K is "suicide" for Michigan State's athletic department, they've got bigger problems than Anastos.

There's only 60 teams. Top 15 is the upper 25% of the country. A team ranked 25th is pretty much middle of the pack.
|31 weeks 6 days ago||How good is Penn State really||
How good is Penn State really though? They've played six games against the top 15 and have a 1-5 record, and 3-8-1 record against the top 20. They put together a competent record against an abysmal schedule, but they're not great.
Also, how does Michigan go entire season and only play three games against teams in the top 15? That's an embarrassing schedule.

They don't show more games because the ratings for the games they do show are beyond terrible and any game they show loses money for them.

Minor quibble, but Boston College was the most recent team with three top-10 scorers nationally in '13-'14(Gaudreau, Hayes, Arnold). They made the Frozen Four, losing to Union.

The thing with MAAR and rim attempts is that I think he's great at getting there and creating his own shot, but he's terrible at getting into the paint and passing the ball, which really limits easy rim attempts for guys like Donnal/Doyle.

Both this and the Cutler Martin suspension were too weak by a factor of 4.

71% of the 21 y/o freshmen in college hockey were committed to their school less than a year prior to enrolling. It's absolutely the case that most don't draw much attention until their final year of juniors rather than teams stashing them until they reach that age.

LaFontaine is the same age, plays for the same junior team, and has the same numbers as Wisconsin's Matt Jurusik last year. Jurusik has been fine but nothing special so far for the Badgers.
|44 weeks 6 days ago||It happens in other leagues||
It happens in other leagues too. There was a suspension in Hockey East and two in Atlantic Hockey last week.
The reason you hear a lot more announced these days than in the past is because the on-ice game disqualification penalty has basically been erased. By NCAA rule, you can only add to a penalty called on the ice, you can't lessen it after the fact. So officials always err on the side of caution by just handing out the game misconduct and then letting the league review via video to determine if the player should sit out the next game.

No NCAA team besides maybe North Dakota could fill an NHL-size arena regularly. But the Thomas and Mack Center on UNLV's campus is capable of making ice(they host Disney on Ice stuff). Orleans Arena in Vegas also holds 7700 for hockey.
As far as an arena goes, UNLV is in a lot better shape than Arizona State is--and the arena problem is the big hold-up with a conference taking ASU. So it's "only" a matter of UNLV raising the $30 million or so to cover costs of the progam.
