Whatever the players want is the correct uniform choice. “Look good, feel good, play good”

"I never told him to stay out of your bed."
"You most certainly did!"
"I never told him to stay out of your bed."
"Yes you did!"
"I told him that a player on a streak has to respect that streak. You know why? Because they don't...they don't happen very often.
If you believe that you're playing well because you're getting laid, or because you're NOT getting laid, or because you're wearing women's underwear, then YOU ARE. And you should know that!"

This right here would be my answer to this as well. Let the players decide whatever they want to wear. Also, if you don’t think these kids care about what they where then you are living outside reality. My son is 12 and there is not a game that goes by where he doesn’t comment on a uniform. I am not for all kinds of change, but it seems kids these days are really attracted to uniforms and apparel.
November 11th, 2022 at 1:54 PM ^
So, "Big game blues" includes not-so-big games too?
Also get off my lawn.
November 11th, 2022 at 2:39 PM ^
Ehh, it is the last home game, and therefore also Senior Day.
Edit: My mistake!
November 11th, 2022 at 2:43 PM ^
incorrect
November 11th, 2022 at 2:43 PM ^
Did you forget about Illinois already???
November 11th, 2022 at 2:51 PM ^
Ack, my bad, I thought that was away.
November 11th, 2022 at 3:05 PM ^
Our BIGGEST rival??
November 11th, 2022 at 6:14 PM ^
We already played Rutger.
November 11th, 2022 at 3:30 PM ^
Maybe trying hard to follow the rule, to focus on the game coming next?
November 11th, 2022 at 10:21 PM ^
Uniformz suck. Full stop.
November 12th, 2022 at 2:30 AM ^
You suck
November 11th, 2022 at 1:55 PM ^
I prefer the all blue kit for rivalry or championship games.
November 11th, 2022 at 2:33 PM ^
I prefer when american football uniforms arent referred to as "kits".
November 11th, 2022 at 3:32 PM ^
Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag?
November 11th, 2022 at 4:59 PM ^
Pretty sure that's an old British marching song.
November 11th, 2022 at 5:13 PM ^
Yep. The First World War.
November 11th, 2022 at 1:57 PM ^
i miss maize pants
now get off my lawn so i can yell at this cloud about chemtrails
November 11th, 2022 at 2:21 PM ^
Same.
But also, they could wear maternity shorts like Adidas made the basketball team wear a few years ago for all I care as long as they win.
November 11th, 2022 at 6:28 PM ^
"Blake Corum could wear a pink tutu and I'd be fine with it."
November 11th, 2022 at 1:57 PM ^
I prefer to save it for special occasions but this is my favorite style.
November 11th, 2022 at 1:57 PM ^
I'm a big fan of the original blue jersey, maize pants. But if the players are choosing and like wearing blue all the time, I'm not going to complain much as long as they keep winning.
November 11th, 2022 at 2:06 PM ^
Agree. But at least they still look good and they’re not wearing those ugly ass alternates that Dave Brandon paraded out.
Although there was that night game where Hoke beat James Franklin…first time the team ever wore blue on blue.
November 11th, 2022 at 5:49 PM ^
I like the blue/maize pants. I also really like the road white with blue pants. As long as the players like them I really don't care. I just hope we stay away from maize/maize.
November 11th, 2022 at 2:06 PM ^
This is all Oregon's fault....
That being said, I do like the all-Blue uni's.
November 11th, 2022 at 2:10 PM ^
Make it the default uniform.
November 11th, 2022 at 2:15 PM ^
If you are looking to reestablish or redefine yourself as the team that beat OSU for the first time in bloody forever, wearing the Unis that you did it in certainly is one way to go about it.
November 11th, 2022 at 2:38 PM ^
Boo this man (but do not downvote for uniform takes, that's silly)
November 11th, 2022 at 2:10 PM ^
What we really need is an all-black, Raiders-like uniform with a Domino's Pizza patch on it. Block M would look sweet in matte black.
November 11th, 2022 at 3:53 PM ^
I sure hope so
November 11th, 2022 at 3:57 PM ^
Wasn't sure if it was sarcasm or not, but then I saw Dominos....
November 11th, 2022 at 4:05 PM ^
I sure hope so
November 11th, 2022 at 6:06 PM ^
Dave Brandon approves this suggestion 👏 as long as there is another patch on the other side of the uniform for a Kraft Mac 'n Cheese wet noodle logo. Come on, you know you love it! /s
November 11th, 2022 at 2:26 PM ^
Personally I liked the days when you had one home uniform, one road uniform, and that's it. It's not even like with soccer teams where you have like 4 jerseys so you can sell extra jerseys to fans. This is just re-arranging the same crap for no particular reason.
I don't even buy that the players care. I bet it's like 2 or 3 guys out of 50 who actually give a damn.
November 11th, 2022 at 2:32 PM ^
I don't even buy that the players care
don't the players get a say in what combo they want to wear? I swear that's a thing in Schembechler hall.
November 11th, 2022 at 2:55 PM ^
Have you ever been part of a group decision like that? There'll be like a few vocal guys who basically dictate it because everyone else doesn't care enough to make it an argument.
November 11th, 2022 at 3:43 PM ^
yes, all the time. and any decent manager worth more than $7.50 an hour will shut those loudmouths up and allow everyone to have an equal voice.
those who don't care can vote that way, but lots of people do care but don't speak up because of the overbearing loudmouths
anyhoo, back to the point .... yes, the players care. and they have a voice in what they wear on gameday
November 11th, 2022 at 3:16 PM ^
Yeah, Mike Sainristil and a group of players started a players’ leadership council in the offseason leading up to the 2021 season to allow players to have more input and direct conversations with the coaching staff as well as keep the rest of the team accountable. That led to the leadership council deciding the uniforms for each game with some input from the coaching staff.

I don't disagree; in terms of my own personal preferences, I like the consistency of one, permanent, and then eventually classic and world-wide familiar outfit. But I have to admit that that is a personal preference, and it comes primarily from me coming of age in a time where budgets were connected to a rational world (see also: locker rooms, training facilities). Such budgets are now astronomical, and there is no financial reason not to have multiple variations -- and no reason not to let players choose, their preference being infinitely more relevant and significant than mine.
That being said, they are also kids, who need some guidance from time to time, and if they ever request those terrible striped thingees that we had in 2011 -- the "legacy" uniforms -- or a wolverine mascot on the helmet, those suggestions should be rejected firmly and immediately.
November 11th, 2022 at 3:38 PM ^
You're probably a 'missionary only' guy too, huh?
November 11th, 2022 at 3:52 PM ^
Only with your wife.

You and Hatter should have beers. Look at his comment further down the post.

We're wearing our school colors, and the design of the jersey is the same. We're just playing around with the precise color pattern. It's essentially the same as what we do in basketball and hockey.
November 11th, 2022 at 2:29 PM ^
I was kinda hoping they'd break out white socks at home - either with maize pants or with the all blues - rather than double down on the all blues and take away from the "big game blues" MGoMoniker.
But it's cool, Michigan is officially in the uniformzzz era and it's less annoying than when Dave Brandon did it, mostly because it feels player led and they're winning.
November 11th, 2022 at 2:34 PM ^
Agree. That would be a cool look. White socks and black shoes. I googled 1974 Michigan football and there are some classic looks in the images tab.
November 11th, 2022 at 3:58 PM ^
I always loved the look of the white tape over the black shoes when I was a kid, AC being my favorite to sport the look!
