OK.. Now I have started to peruse the message board further. What in the fuck just went down?
EDIT: I try to keep my posts quasi-clean, as there's usually no reason you'd have to use big boy language to express your thoughts. However, as I sit here catching up on today's events, the last 12 words out of my mouth have been "What the fuck... what the fuck... what the fuck... what the fuck???"

Yeah, we had an amazing day yesterday. Bullet points:
- Commits continue to come in pairs. Kyle Bosch, Wyatt Shallman, Jourdan Lewis, David Dawson, Chris Fox, and Taco Charlton all committed. I didn't include their ratings because they are all consensus 4-stars to the major recruiting sites.
- Hockey was good to us. We spept Northern this weekend to go either first or second in the computer rankings.
- Basketball was awesome. After hosting Gameday and having a really hyped game in Crisler, the Wolverines put on a defensive clinic and held the Buckeyes to 51 points, in a 56-51 victory. That's a big win becuase it keeps us in contention for the B1G regular season title and because Thad Matta was 15-2 against us prior to this game.

the Miracle in Ann Arbor
February 19th, 2012 at 10:16 AM ^
But miracle implies there was little to no chance it would happen . . .
February 19th, 2012 at 11:44 AM ^
Honestly, there was little to no chance that all of those things would happen in the same day like they did, and they coincided with a few BIG basketball and Hockey wins. This just doesn't happen. Enjoy it MGoBloggers

Freddie Mercury, Jimi Hendrix, Keith Moon, and John Paul Jones are getting together to pound fistfulls of drugs and tour this summer.
But nobody has heard about this yet because of the din created by the monsoon of blue chip verbals currently pounding Ann Arbor.

...Jones is still alive. John Entwistle might want some of that tour, though. Jaco Pastorius might be an interesting choice on bass, too.

Veni, vidi, vici in all three major sports.

Holy muppets, someone pinch me! Must be in a dream because all this good doesn't happen to UM sports or at least hasn't in the past decade. It's great to be back to where we were, now lets stay there.

Just got home from work. I got to watch the last two minutes of the basketball game at the hospital and knew about four recruits. Now I learn we got two more recruits AND hockey took 6 points this weekend?? Was there a Denard sighting in the student section? Somehow, I feel like he had to have a hand in this.

I just hope we keep days like yesterday in mind when we hit our first "bump" in the road; and this being life, there will be a bump in the road. My hope is that should we, for example, get beat soundly by Alabama and win only 8 games next year, the "smart" fans will still outnumber the bandwaggoners and we'll all keep the faith. Eventually we'll need to draw on great days like this to keep positive about Hoke and crew when we have our next "ARRRRGH! What was that call Borgess?!??!" day.
As beyond awesome as yesterday was, I just know the boards are going to light up with negativity at the first sign of trouble. Hopefully the level headed, more intellectually honest types on the board will remember this day and remind the masses that we have to take the bad with the good and remain confident that the latter will outnumber the former. M Football is on an upward trajectory, but dips are going to happen as we trend upwards.
I've been on a recent kick of reading old Mgo posts, and I'm currently looking at our honeymoon phase with the RR hire when we were all enamored with how "awesome" his philosophies were and how "amazingly open" he and his staff was, and all I kept thinking was "man how quickly it can all change" when the wins and losses don't meet expectations.

A bunch of kids see an opportunity to be all that they can be! The coaching staff knows what they are selling and there is substance behind it. Gotta' Love it!

Great haul for the football team, and great to see Hoke/Denard, etc. out there supporting the resurgent hoops team. They are going to be scary when they get one more big body, and I understand we have one coming!
Football and basketball tracking to be back at the top of the heap over the long term.
Hockey also back on track, which is great. Maybe Red takes another year or two at the helm, but we need to hope we can lure Mel Pearson back when that happens. Mel has about 10-12 scholarship kids up at Houghton and has turned that program around already.

I'm so happy sometimes to be a Michigan Wolverine, I just wanna buy all you guys on here a beer. Seriously.
I love this place and I love sharing the ride with all of you. Keep in mind, it's ONLY February. Even greater things might be left to come this year in later months.

I took a nap this day and Hoke & Co. didn't. Instead when I woke up we got David Dawson and Jourdan Lewis FERGODSAKES.
