Sutherland running the second leg really crushed it! They said she ran a 51.xx split, which was the fastest on the team and pulled to within about 2.5 seconds of the lead - down from about a 6 second gap, so she gained almost 4 seconds. That's a really strong split for indoors. Without that, I don't think they win it. Third split was around 54.xx and took the lead. Holman was anchor and a 53.xx.

EDIT: Found teh results

Looks like they lost at least 5 seconds on the first leg, so figure they would've gone under 3:40.

Wow that was absolutely insane.

Actually got chills watching them close the distance on what should have been impossible odds.

Go Blue!

I was there track side and it was about as electric an atmosphere as you could have for maybe 1200 spectators. FYI Ziyah Holman of the anchor leg I believe is still Hunter Diickinson’s girlfriend. Both from DeMatha High. She had wins in a few other events.

There was a long period of tme when the camera was only on our runners. This video reeks of phoniness. Total sham. Not a conspiracist, but I think there might be another incident with the buckeye participants. Need wider angle. Or send search party.

That is pretty wild, but it's not that rare! I've seen other races where the runner falls and looks to be out of the race, but I guess the adrenaline of the moment propels the athlete to persevere and come back for the win. Still, a great victory, let's go Blue!

Wow!!!  I knew, just from the title, that they'd come back and win.  But I didn't think it would be like that!  Holy hell - that was incredible, would have lapped the field without the fall!

Also, Michigan's new indoor track looks fantastic with that bank.
