1 hour 59 min ago	I reffed IM basketball.....	at U of M in the early 90's and you didn't get paid much more than $7 a game.  You were lucky to have officials at all.  If, by ridiculous coincidence, I was the ref of your game, the only time a T'd up a bench player  was because he gave me some bullshit sarcastic comment after I gave him a warning for giving some dude on the other team grief because of his weight.  That was a fraternity contest.  I was in a fraternity and even I will admit that those games were aboslutely the worst to ref.  I once gave a double red card in the Fraternity A soccer championship game, essentially disqualifying both teams.
5 hours 8 min ago	In 2007	In Michigan, girls basketball was moved to the winter season where it had previously been in the fall. The reason, IIRC, was because some lawsuit started by girls volleyball families who thought their daughters were getting the shaft for not having the sport line up with the college counterpart. They won, The MHSAA completely rearranged the girls sports alignment and now boys and girls basketball both occur in the winter. The most damaging downside is the reffing pool now has been seriously watered down with 9th, JV, and varsity games from both boys and girls occurring simultaneously.

I don't think you mean baffling.  Michigan has vacated victories.  No one is denying that and no one is clamoring for those victories to be written back in the books.  Perhaps you meant ironic which, in reality, doesn't exactly fit either because Michigan, unlike Syracuse, is not facing impending sanctions.

Are you saying that you lost respect for Smotryz because he saw the writing on the wall and reacted according to his perception of his best interests?  We all seem to agree that his playing time was going to be severely diminished.  Him leaving was not a major blow to Michigan's depth and it was most definitely the right thing for him to do if his desire is to be a major contributor and not a role player.  From eveything I read, the transfer was on good terms.  I don't see any reason to hate on the guy.

No, one thing doesn't mean the other but I prefer that scenerio as opposed to the alternate. In fact, I think I'm going to assume that everyone, including Burke, is planning to return for next season.

7 weeks 59 min ago	A tad over statement.....	Syracuse just dismantled a team that went 4-0 against Michigan and MSU. Nothing is easy at this point.
7 weeks 1 hour ago	It wasn't all that long ago...	....where we suffered a similar fate against Indiana as Kansas did against us.  As stated by others, there was some giving and there was some taking last night, just as there was in our loss to Indiana (along with some extra giving by the refs).
