Hockey takes out #1 overall Minnesota on the big ice and wins the B10 tournament for the second year in a row, locking in a 1 seed (possibly the 3rd) for the NCAAs. Kindly remove all interim tags.

And you can't have one without the other.

Also men’s and women's gymnastics won the Big Ten, and Mason Parris completed a perfect season to win the heavyweight national title. Nothing else happened today.

That was a beautiful game, well played, kept their heads, not many penalties, especially stupid ones.

Great goaltending, good pressure, hustle, just all around outstanding effort.

Men’s gymnastics won the season title. Parris won the HWY national title in wrestling. Pretty solid day.

It’s great to be…

Big W! Couldnt really watch till the end but I was keeping a close eye on twitter. Huge end to the season toppling OSU finally and then beating #1 on their home rink to lock up a 1 seed

These guys are certainly capable of winning it all. Pray the bounces go our way

One of the users on here knows her.  He says she's a great person.  She knows she's the "Yay! Girl" on MGoBlog and she's cool with it.  The picture is from somewhere around the early 2010's I think.

I forget who the user was, but I'll see if I can find it, and what he said specifically.

I know Minnesota is the consensus #1 seed. But Michigan played Minnesota three times this year with Adam Fantilli in the lineup. All three of those games were at Minnesota’s rink and Michigan won 2 of 3.

Not just Adam Fantilli. In November Michigan got hit with a nasty viral outbreak that knocked a number of guys out of the lineup and put Steve Holtz in a coma. Michigan could barely put a full team on the ice and it was not a sure thing that they could play the games at all.

Not a lot of penalties plus great PK work == B1G Champs. We were just so poised tonight. What more does Brandon have to show?  I’m looking at you, Warde.

What a day for Michigan athletics!

Days like this is why I like multiple Michigan sports

The tag was always going to be taken off, it’s just a matter of when. Perhaps after a national championship

Glorious.

Hockey conference tournament titles aren't the ultimate prize, but short of FF berths and national titles its hard to imagine a sweeter college hockey result then storming into a rival's rink with a raucous sellout crowd and winning the conference trophy on their home ice.

Check that, I *can* imagine something sweeter:

Storming into a rival's rink with a raucous sellout crowd and winning the conference trophy on their home ice... two years in a row.

With St. Cloud beating Colorado College, Michigan also moved up to #3 in the PWR

Based on early projections, that puts UM in the Allentown regional against Colgate, and will play the winner of Penn State and Minnesota State
