Friday POSBANG Thread: 1/3/14 Edition

Gettin' close to the weekend, MGoBoard, what ya got to posbang for?

Pretty nice little Saturday here, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time.

Not much in the way of plans here that do not involve preparing for the prospect of being more or less shut in by snow on Sunday again, if the forecast is to be believed. I might venture out later - now that the air temperature is 2 degrees - and get some stuff for a stew and run with that all weekend. Stew and beer might make up for the cold and snow and the city plowing me in twice yesterday.

On the bright side, it is supposed to be warmer (like, mid-20s) when it snows on Sunday, and between that and the snow already on the ground, I may very well go outside and build some impressive fortifications and revisit childhood for a couple hours. My kids are 7 and 6 now and I think old enough to begin to learn the art. The snowball fight will follow, of course - no iceballs....this time.

Just win! Whether we are too close in crunch time to Minny, whether the games against inferior opponents are closer than they ever should be, and without regard to whether I almost suffer a heart attack in the final minutes of each game against good teams, all I want is lots of Ws and good health for our players. Is that too much to ask?!?

Going out with the wife tonight. After having a baby, my evenings have been more: "Toad said croak and winked an eye when little blue truck went rolling by."

Might be the last weekend that the wifey and I are two as we are expecting an addition on the ninth.  Most likely we will head down to Annapolis and grab some chow on Saturday.  Then it is the NFL playoffs and with no rooting interest I can enjoy the games without going crazy.

I miss ALF.  Now every time I talk about that show, people think I'm saying "Elf," which in and of itself is not a bad thing, but ALF > Elf.

My weekend plans consist of doing absolutely nothing. Work has been grueling the past few weeks, so I am going to use this weekend to just chill on the couch and get caught up on the few remaining shows I have backlogged on my DVR. Have a good weekend everyone!

I got a free snowblower from my coworker that just needs a little fixin' up, and the last part I need should arrive in the mail today.  Just in time for the half a foot we're expecting on Sunday.

Plus I'm also getting my new tire put on my new car, thanks to the flat I picked up on New Year's Eve.  (One last fuck you from 2013 to me, apparently.  I'd bill the city of Detroit for it since it was their pothole meteor crater on their unlit street, but I fear the bankruptcy judge won't approve the expense.)

Whatever.  Free snowblower!

FInally celebrating my birthday(which was New Years day) with my family today and tomorrow, so it should be a good time. It could be the last birthday I spend with them for a while.

Hold me gently while I get posbanged....please.

Happy 1st Friday of 2014.   Nothing special planned for me except to PREPARE FOR THE UPCOMING FROZEN APOCALYPSE.   High temps near Madison, WI expected to be in the -10 to -15 F range on Monday.   Stay warm, my friends.

I'm going to chill out tonight with a cup of tea and watch Ohio lose to Clemson. Then I'm gonna sit back and watch the NFL football playoffs over the weekend. I'm a Packer fan and apparently the game against San Fran is supposed to be the coldest in history. I'll have about 50 friends there, so I should probably plan a trip back to Green Bay for hospital visits while I'm at it.
