Some interesting choices in…

Some interesting choices in the "Legends" category

Here's another, in keeping…

Here's another, in keeping with your pattern:

Okie's strip sack of Stroud at the end of The Game in 2022 that was waived off for stopped forward progress. Upshaw was right there with nothing but green between him and the end zone. Would it have impacted the game? Nope. is 52 better than 45? Absolutely. Did the refs screw up again? You know the answer.

What is the hockey team's…

What is the hockey team's ceiling now that Fantilli is gone to Columbus?

This is misleading. While it…

This is misleading. While it's true that Michigan only had 12 B1G titles last year, it had 13 CONFERENCE titles. Women's Water Polo plays in the CWPA b/c there isn't a B1G conference. So, this year's Michigan teams actually tied last year's mark. Michigan is an "everything" school!!!

Do you think Bowling Green…

It had to kill Heather Dinich that she couldn't insert any SEC love into the article.

It's Norvell. His lack of success is 5% of why. Deion waiting in the wings is the other 95%.

The correct answer is Macho…

The correct answer is Macho Man.

Bret Hart was obviously great, but is (rightfully) better known for his World Titles. And he is, without a doubt, the best technical wrestler of all time. Just not the greatest on the mic.

Honky Tonk Man and Mr. Perfect were great heels who kept the belt in the spotlight.

Jericho is probably the most underrated and underappreciated WWF/E wrestler of all time.

Warrior was only fun when we were kids. With hindsight, we know he was a terrible wrestler, horrible on the mic, and ultimately a shitty dude.

Vince didn't care about the title over the last decade. I'm hoping Triple H brings it back to level of respect it deserves.

I'm we're looking beyond…

I'm we're looking beyond football, the obvious answer is Louisville

Though you're correct that…

Though you're correct that the 1999 Orange Bowl was a BCS game, Michigan didn't play in it. Michigan (and Tom Brady) won the 2000 Orange Bowl against Bama. I know bc I was there.

$100m/year is a helluva drug.

We already dipped below the…

Or we surprise everyone and grab Hawaii to own the Pacific Ocean!!!

We already dipped below the…

We already dipped below the Mason-Dixon Line by adding Maryland. Plus, the South surrendered in Virginia. So, it'd be kinda poetic for the Northern Conference to take Virginia again.

Michigan *men's* rowing team…

Michigan *men's* rowing team is run out of the Rec department and is mostly student run. Michigan's *women's* rowing team has been Varsity since 97/98 and is one of the best programs in the country.

Let's stop defaulting to men's sports = no qualifier needed, while women's sports = must include "women's."

I agree that 3 is too many,…

I agree that 3 is too many, but w/ your layout, we're just getting a smaller version of the current divisions. Wiscy, Minny, and Iowa would be the same thing on the other side. If we're doing 2 protected games, I think each team should have 1 team from the former Western Conference and 1 team from the former Easter Conference. Ex: M's protected would be OSU and Minny.

Ashley Lau is the best golfer on the team. Don't leave her out of the conversation.

M v OSU 1997. Rushed the field afterwards.

M @ Penn St 1997. Complete domination by our boys.

M v Bama 2000 Orange Bowl. Sitting in the end zone where Bama missed the FG in OT to tie it.

M v OSU 1995. Biakabutuka w/ 313 rushing yards.

M v ND 2019. Rain. Cold. But last game w/ my mom in the stadium.

* 2021 M v OSU and 1998 Rose Bowl are also favorites, but I figure they'd be common among most of us, so I tried for some different games.

  • Pequad's in Chicago. The best Chicago-style pizza. The place went NUTS!!!

  • My dad died that morning. Watched this game at home that night

Buckeye QBs NFL history + Bears QBs NFL history = enjoy the basement of the division (and I live in Chicago)

Not really under the radar,…

Not really under the radar, but The Great Outdoors, Little Shop of Horrors, and Clue were masterpieces.

Boys and Girls in America is…

Boys and Girls in America is the best album of the Aughts, in my opinions. But Stay Positive might have my favorite song of theirs, w/ "Constructive Summer." Separation Sunday introduced the band to me w/ "Your Little Hoodrat Friend" and I was hooked. The guitar on that album is supurb. Their only clunker is Teeth Dreams.

The Black Crowes - Shake…

The Black Crowes - Shake Your Money Maker

The Hold Steady - Boys and Girls in America

Cold War Kids - Robbers & Cowards

J Roddy Walston & The Business - Essential Tremors

Sam Coffey and The Iron Lungs - Real One

The only schools that add…

The only schools that add value to the conference in both sports and subscriptions without losing the geographic continuity are UVA and UNC. Kansas coming on would only be a plus in MBB. The eastern schools add academic prestige (I know, I know, UNC MBB) and sports beyond the Big 2. Since we're playing in a fantasy world, I would *much* rather take the 2 ACC teams than Kansas or USC.

Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) by Green Day is probably played at Gitmo as a torture device.

Just don’t run through a wall AT him.

No bet.

Michigan is all but locked…

Michigan is all but locked into the 2nd or 3rd 1 Seed. Thus, if Illinois is the last #1, we wouldn't see them until the final game, if at all. Similarly, if Illinois is a 2 Seed, they'll likely be the top 2 Seed and would play the worst 1 Seed. Again, we wouldn't see them until the title game, if at all.

There aren't 9-11 better…

There aren't 9-11 better teams than Michigan right now. I'd argue that there aren't 5 teams better than Michigan on a neutral-site court. Even after the beating by the Gophers, Michigan is still playing better than any team not named Gonzaga or Baylor (and *maybe* Iowa). And Michigan is definitely the best team playing the best competition. Only the Hawkeyes can argue the same.

Just let Indiana play in…

Just let Indiana play in their place.

I'm curious, what makes you…

I'm curious, what makes you think the AD has turned its back on the football team?

I don't disagree that it…

I don't disagree that it stinks for the players. The difference is that the staff's family members are already in the "germ bubble" whereas players' families are not.

Here's the thing: All major…

Here's the thing: All major conference programs (and possibly more) aren't going to be letting their players and staff celebrate the holidays with family. If they were to do that, the players (and staff) would likely have to quarantine for 14 days upon their return. That would obviously affect the post-holiday schedule and affect March Madness. So, the B1G teams playing on Christmas is probably a nice distraction versus just sitting in the dorms, missing spending time with family.

I understand your point, but…

I understand your point, but I think the fact that Arrowhead was filled with 16,000 people, many of whom were booing during the players' kneeling, counters your point. I'm willing to bet the entire stadium would have been filled if that was allowed. It's easy to vote in a poll like this but still watch the games. So, I think the "moneyed masses" are tuning in, but many are still stating publicly that they won't.
