Bruce Feldman Reports Harbaugh Extension coming until 2026

Title says it all! Figuring out small details I guess. Angelique and Baumgardner have chimed in with similar “confirmed reports”. These are the people who don’t throw out junk!

THIS SUCKS!! 5 year deal? Awful. Only way this works is if he gets great OC and DC guys. Better get Moorhead and Mason/Muschamp/Strong type guy.

Free Press report is more detailed.

Harbaugh is waiting to see if the Jets or Chargers pursue him (after Black Monday) before deciding whether to sign the contract that Warde has put on the table....

Warde!?! You read this blog lol? Pull the contract and go hard after Campbell who just turned around top 5 worst P5 schools  historically to win a Fiesta Bowl in 5 years. Dude is 41 years old and in is only going to get better. Seriously, don’t let your college buddy make you a backup plan. Time is now to get Campbell!!!

Right?!! Pull any offer right now, or Michigan will be on the outside looking in for a long time.  We can wish Harbaugh all the best without keeping him on.  Even if his mediocre performance weren’t reason enough, he’s clearly uncommitted enough to be looking at NFL gigs.  Cut him loose and let him go take whatever else he wants.

Spot on. The only thing I felt sure of was that the Michigan Men Mafia would find a way to keep one of their own. Then in five years, they'll say, "Who can we get that's better?" after Greg Schiano's Rutgers passes us.

I’m willing to bet his buyout is very small and if he doesn’t have this turned around in a couple of years he will be gone.  Have to give him a few years on extension for stability and recruiting purposes but doesn’t mean he’s here the entire time

it’s happening let’s hope he gets a damn good DC and a couple of other good recruiting coaches and gets this thing on the right track

Honestly just numb to Michigan football nowadays. I'll support Harbaugh and the program and genuinely want them to do well, just haven't seen anything to indicate we're any closer to winning a B1G Championship.

Instead, watching Michigan basketball is so much more fun. They just work hard and get the job done. No talk, no flash, just improving each day and showing it on the floor.

I don't blame you one bit. It's sad to see what our program has become. I'm a bit on the younger side (mid 20s) so all I've known with UM Football is mediocrity. Can't imagine how frustrating it is for the prior generation, knowing what the program used to be. But for us "kids", it has just been disappointment after constant disappointment.

Michigan has been a 3 loss program  over the last 30 years. Just look at the records. The difference is the conference championship game. 20 years ago Harbaugh would have had multiple Big Ten titles(split)already with the records he has achieved.

Fans are ignoring the actual records of Michigan while reminiscing.

Dude we’ve beaten Ohio State three times since 2000. Enough of this “Michigan has always been a 2-3 loss team” bullshit. We are not a nationally relevant program while our arch rival is playing light years ahead of us. This mantra of Leaders and Best doesn’t exist right now and it’s what we should strive for every single day. It’s obvious that the athletic department isn’t willing to attain greatness on behalf of the university, alumni, and fans in this sport. Fuck off with this non-sense.

Michigan HAS always been a 2-3 loss team though. OSU was also for a long period of time. Thats when we were beating them regularly. The difference is, Ohio State no longer is that and we still are.

Carr won 5 conference titles. Michigan had 3 losses in 4 of them. College football has changed in a way where 3 losses is no longer enough, but Michigan is what it’s always been.

Holy fucking shit. This has been repeated ad nauseum.

2-3 losses might be what we've always been, but:

2-12 vs top ten teams is not where we've always been

10-14 against ranked teams is not where we've always been

1-4 in bowl games is not where we've always been

3-3 against MSU is not where we've always been

0-5 would have been 0-6 against OSU is not where we've always been

2-3 against Wisconsin is not where we've always been

Also he would not have had "multiple" Big Ten titles under the old rules. He would technically have one, in 2018, where we gave up 62 to OSU.

Nice list, let me fill in some of the other FAILURES of the Harbaugh era:

  • 0 B1G titles, not even playing in the B1G title game let alone CFP
  • best road win is against #20 Northwestern
  • 0-15 when Michigan is an underdog
  • worst halftime deficit in Michigan stadium history & 2nd worst loss ever at home
  • home loss to an 0-5 team
  • 4 straight home losses
  • talented players transferring / leaving the program early
  • questionable roster management and seemingly disorganized recruiting
  • could not keep the players from missing the last 3 games
  • 4th highest paid coach in the country

Thanks for posting this.  Again.  And again.  And again.  We all know all of this.  None of us have decision-making power to either fire or retain Harbaugh.  Please call Warde, make an appointment, and lay it all out for him.  The huge upside to you doing that is that we will never have to read it again.  And again.  And again.  And again.

Because you’re STILL comparing different eras.

9-3 used to BE the record of top 10 teams.

MSU and Wisconsin are better now than they were back then, and Harbaugh has 1 loss to an MSU team that wasn’t a double digit win team. Bad loss for sure, but let’s not act like he’s losing to the 6-7 win MSU teams of the 90’s and early 2000’s here.

The record against OSU is AGAIN because you’re comparing different eras. 8-4 OSU teams aren’t walking into the Big House anymore. It would be great not to play a top 5 OSU team every year, and we’d probably pull a few wins out of our hats along the way. But this isn’t the same OSU that Bo, Moeller and Carr were able to face.

You have this weird memory of Michigan football that simply doesn’t exist. This is what Michigan has always been. It’s not good enough in the modern game, but it IS the Michigan we all want to remember so fondly.
