Friday POSBANG open thread
18 holes and watching the Wings dismantle the Stars for their 23rd consecutive playoff appearance.
Been awhile since I posted...I think it is 22nd, but yea I am rooting for them.
You have 1997 points. Probably shouldn't post again until we win another National Championship.
Decided to have beer for lunch.
I'm up here in alaska.. it was spring time until last night. We just got 4 inches of snow. How's that for a posbang killer...
It snowed the previous two days in Ann Arbor.
We're flying back to michigan next week to visit my family (in the thumb). My Dad has been sending pictures of flooded fields and roads everywhere. Sounds like a crummy spring there so far. We were hoping to go to a tigers game while we were there. I miss sitting in the warm sun with a beer and watching a lazy 9 innings..
Had gelato for the first time. Very nice! Got the raspberry flavored.
F**king inventory tomorrow. Then possibly GVSU to congratulate one of my best friends for graduating.
This is fantastic timing. I just found this meme on my lunch break and just had to share it:
that's terribly offensive.
And there is one much more offensive about it being Friday.
Am I a wussie becuase I find this somewhat offensive? Not racially, but you know, hungry kids being excited about food?
Let me first say that I have a lot of sympathy for kids in terrible circumstances like that. I've volunteered at orphanages in third-world areas in 2 different countries (I don't think Honduras and Mexico are technically third-world countries, but the areas I was in definitely were), so I've even gone beyond just sympathy and done something to help out.
That aside, I'm not trying to make light of the kids' circumstances. I just got a hearty laugh imagining those kids being so happy to see food we consider super basic. If anything, it's sobering because we could see a scenario like this actually being true.
Offensive on at least eight levels.
On Saturday, the kids have a party - their own, this time. We're hosting a small gathering for their school friends at Pump It Up in Taylor. After that, we're taking them to Build-A-Bear at Twelve Oaks for a toy of their choosing. After we get home, I plan to burn my MasterCard.
On Sunday, it's yard work and beer mainly. Because I live near woods and therefore leaves - dead or alive - fall throughout the year, I have to rake out several flower beds. I do plan to start with mainly yardwork and make the gradual shift to beer as the afternoon wears on.
I believe it is customary and necessary to always have beer while doing any yardwork.
The weather appears to be nice, at least through tomorrow. Possibly some golf in the near future. I also have a potroast simmering at home today, so add some hearty sides to that tonight with a solid beer to wash it down and enjoy the evening. Spring is just about damn here in Michigan, which also means the campus is starting to display the seasonal "scenary"
Just have one more conference call to make it through, then I'm off to catch a matinee screening of Oblivion or Pain and Gain...haven't decided yet.
Oblivion is actually pretty good.
Yeah, I've heard good things about Oblivion too.
Who dares neg the posbang thread.
For the first time this year I ate lunch out on the patio furniture at my office. Beautiful day.
Ashley's tonight for some good brews.
it's beautiful out, I'm still laughing my butt off about Michael Shannon's dramatic reading of the sorority letter.
Then, all of that is tempered by having to have a great dog, a truly great dog, euthanized at 2 pm.
Going outside to dig a hole right now. Sucks on so many levels.
Sorry to hear about your dog =-( anyone who's done it knows how hard it is, but you're saving them from everyday pain. I truly am sorry and hope everything else this weekend turns out great for you.
Sorry. That does suck.
It's such a strange thing. You know it's coming at some point with an older dog, but it's usually in the abstract.
Then it hits you like a pile of bricks - it's time.
Fucking Finals
Who won the Fucking Semifinals?
I did...its me vs my wife.
I am odds on favorite to win!
I would recommend studying for them instead. But to each their own.
and bachelorette party. I am clearly too old to be attending a bachelorette party, so a POSBANG would help. Thanks. Wait.....that didn't sound right....
I keep forgetting you're a woman, until you post things that give you away. It's mostly because I just assume everyone on the internet is a man.
Assuming everyone on the internet is a man is good advice for anyone. But then again, if everyone followed this advice, no one would have ever gotten to meet that Chris Hansen fellow.
Until I see 'her' typing in 'her' own password and posting on MGOBLOG I will assume 'she' is a man.
this one time I assumed a person was a woman, well a girl at least, then i showed up at this shopping mall only to be assaulted by the police. Horrible day.
Sunny. 70's. Beer in the frig to be consumed conspicuously all weekend starting in just 3 hours, and lots of grilling of dead things.
NFL Draft to boot. I'm all set...
I'll be checking out the cherry blossom festival at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens with the family this weekend, with various little league activities before and after.
- Mowing the grass
- BBQ
- Watch Tigers' games on TV
- Dream about upcoming Michigan football season
Studying for finals. Fortunately, only have two.
Also, watching the NFL Draft and waiting to see who is lucky enough to grab Denard / seeing who my Eagles take for the new Chip Kelly era. Could those two events happen at the same time? One can dream....
This weekend? I'll be thinking of Moe Ways puns. Natch.
Well, that and hoping that a party (100 guests +/-) we're hosting tomorrow doesn't get rained out. If it does rain, imma be swimming in beer for a month.
Sounds like a win either way.
That avatar is offensive. No child should be forced to wear a White Sox hat.
My favorite post
I couldn't help but notice your scattered views on pictures of children. A child wearing a White Sox hat is offensive to you, but starving children celebrating eating is funny.
Sounds good either way. Wait. What kind of beer?
i am staying buckled up all weekend - Hello: Kyron Watson
other than that, trying to avoid any lines from the movie Old School in this thread - and i'm done
he visiting this weekend?
Fucking finals
What channel is this event on, exactly?
Cinemax.
Heading out of town to go camping. And drinking.
But..but.. I wanna go camping..
And a neighborhood home brew party. Something for everyone.
And searching for Denard's new Jersey.
Final tonight at 7, then raging.
a fund raiser in which Lloyd Carr, Mike Hart, Aaron Wellman, Al Borges and Tony Scheffler are in attendance. Hoping to chat with a few of those guys tonight.
have no idea whatsoever what I am doing this weekend. I am the father of an only child, a 5 year old son, and anybody with an only child can tell you that your child does not want to do anything with you, they want to do things with other people, or they want to play their f#%king DS. As I have not lined up any plans with other people this weekend as of yet, the plan right now is to convince my son that I am fun and that we can have fun by ourselves, watch him get bored and be like "I am going to get my DS," and then I grab a beer and try to think of a way to "figure this shit out." No luck yet.
Then I will probably just leave my wife to deal with it and go play golf.
Get to work on having another kid. You're welcome.
Have DS?
Why in the world does he have a DS? Buy him an ipad already!
that doesn't.
...but my kids were given iPad minis by my parents because they want their grandchildren to be exactly like I was when my father brought the Apple IIe home those many years ago - absolutely transfixed and unavilable for things like picking up their toys or helping with stuff around the house.
That, or my parents are looking for someone who will play networked games with them since no one in Canada Creek (up by Atlanta, MI) seems to have the knack.
I'm an only child and did a lot of things with my parents growing up, wasnt till I was more of a teenager that I was all like "no, I am going to my friends house". Granted we also had this thing called "the outdoors" back in my day.
got a thing. Long story. Content too much of a downer for MGoBlog.
that I'm thinking of, you may seriously want to consider an ipad. Bigger and a ton of interactive games and movies and such for all kids. Hang in there...
we got him an ipad things could get ugly. The one thing he loves is the one thing we have to severely limit. Damn this "thing" and its Catch 22s.
Working a short afternoon shift and then watching the draft, and celebrating my moms 50th and my imminent graduation. Cheers!
It's my birthday this weekend and I'm bowling tonight, playing racquetball in the morning, meeting a few friends for drinks, and helping a friend build a retaining wall on sunday. What a terrible plan!!
First and foremost, happy birthday!
I actually took my team bowling this week for a nice pizza lunch / decompress the other day. As expected, I am the worst bowler in the group, so my grandfather's skill did indeed skip a generation. That being said, it may very well have been the first time I broke 100 in two straight games. I did, however, kick butt at Pac-Man in the arcade on the way out. I set a terrible example for my team admittedly.
Teach me the genius behind statistcal analysis and I will teach you to double that bowling score
I will bring a laptop loaded with the latest SPSS and Excel software and some football or basketball data and the beer is on me. Word of warning - I am a southpaw, so the first hour might involve me hunting for a suitable ball.
Happy birthday. Actually sounds like a pretty good weekend.
Nervously waiting to see where Denard is drafted. Plus draft picks. More draft picks means I get to update my recordbook. I love updating my recordbook (in most instances).
Lacrosse plays their final game Saturday. And both baseball & softball are on the road in crucial series while men's and women's tennis are going for the B1G Tournament title.
Bringing my son to Boy Scouts!!
After the hectic full moon of yesterday ruined my Thursday, I will be relaxing and watching the draft and drinking a tall glass of founders dirty bastard. I love Fridays!
got the day off today and picked up a sampler pack of summer shandy..gonna watch a little of the draft maybe a flick and just relax cuz i work all weekend
Drunk laser tag = great break from finals studying
if you throw mea posbang today I will throw you two in a month.

jdon
I catching up on the Walking Dead series.
Watch the last few episodes of Breaking Bad I missed a while back.
Put off doing yard work till Sunday
watch draft, hockey and possibly nba playoffs
maybe clean the house but I'm thinking that might get put off too
tonight, then cocktails, then...yeah. Tomorrow yard work, painting inside, then more cocktails, and hopefully more...yeah. Sunday, some paperwork, and an early bedtime.
Thats a lotta ...yeah, are you sure your up for that?
I'm a man! I'm forty!
yeah, and yeah.
no Yeah on Sunday? Was rooting for the hat trick
On vacation in Florida for a few weeks before I move to Chicago in June. Laid out by the pool for an hour and about to go get some delicious seafood. Assorted 6-pack in the fridge for tonight's draft/wings game/Brewers game.
Weekend plans include drinking and laying out by the pool. Will probably go out to bars and the beach at some point. Gotta love having a new job lined up and not starting until July.
Spend too much time on MGoBlog.
And Draft. Lots and lots of draft. With hopefully "University of Michigan" coming up more than once.
Then getting weird.
Wait, what...?
Best comment of the thread. LOL'd
Still not sure if the wine should come before or after.
Edit: of course, the obvious answer is "both."
I'm in the middle of testing for May 1st software release. Wrapping up work around 5PM then heading over to the GF's house for some dinner and a movie. Tomorrow I'm studying for GMAT and GF is studying for MCAT. Sunday morning is church followed by brunch for lunch!
some nice weather here in Philly, having a beer or three and hanging out with my 5 month old son!
In the middle of that watching some of the draft, the Tigers, and Mad Men...

The rest of the weekend looks similar.
Today we get to celebrate the bright future that will be Tom Brady throwing passes and heading off to Denard Robinson.
The head off is a truly unique and unstoppable football play. I cannot wait to see it run to perfection.
unfortunately. I've got a big project due next week and finals the week after for my 2 grad school courses (working on my MBA) so this weekend is going to suck with lots of studying. Oh well. At least summer is soon here woohoo!! Happy Friday everyone!
Physics 235 exam tonight. I'm currently about 7 1/2 hours away from ridding myself of physics for the rest of my life. I can't wait.
Then this weekend I go ride bikes and race in Holland, MI on Sunday.
Then back to the grind to get ready for my EEB 487 exam on Tuesday.
Other than that, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
Upvoting people's comments on mgoblog.
THAT is a very solid thing to do.
POSBANG thread? Come on man...
Have a good weekend you beautiful little Wolverines.
What about gay men?
although the Rock's picture was above for the gay guys - so there's really something for everyone here today.
but oh well, time to FUCK THEM UP ourselves on Saturday, Wings.
I plan on watching a bunch of backlogged stuff on my DVR, and catching a movie or two on DVD. Not sure which ones yet. Have a great weekend all!
Playing in the Mt. Pleasant Gus Macker tommorow. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it.
friends getting married! Going up north!
Also i had homemade chicken nuggets for lunch. Chopped up a breast, marinated in soy sauce and savory, pan fried in butter, and bathed in a mix of horsey sauce, buffalo sauce, and ground red pepper before pulling out of the pan- so it would bind with the chicken chunks. Mmmmmm
What beer did you pour with the chicken nuggets? I think a Mexican lager would be great with your lunch.
1. Gardening.
2. Enjoying the sun's warmth on my face for the first time this spring in the upper midwest.
3. My dog's butt stinks, so maybe I'll have to search the MGoArchive on how to express his anal glands.
All-in-all, a great weekend ahead.
Went to the driving range, gonna BBQ later. Good day.
to the Dallas Stars then celebrate with brew doggies.
As far as drinking brands are concerned this evening?
I had no idea Rogue made a "Captain Sig's Northwestern Ale." Anyone had this one?
Going to a house party tonight, then I've got an Art Director's review tomorrow to validate my work in design school and kinda give me a nod to proceed in my career (that or a warning to stop and do something else). Wish me luck!
Corny but entertaining enough. Mainly for those who have missed Kate in the last two Hello threads.
