Offensive on at least eight levels. |

For early-90's verisimilitude, I'm going to print this column and then rip it into tiny pieces for touchdown confetti. |
| 1 year 42 weeks ago | Mind-blown, but did you mean LB? |
Tamakwa reference on Mgoblog? This is a mind-boggling convergence that causes me to question the very nature of the universe. But I think you have made a critical typo. LH was certainly the consensus HGIC, but EC and LB (not LS) were the other contenders. Did you mean LB? I'm something of an authority on this. LH EC LB SA DG and JT surprised my 13-day when their trip showed up at Eustache during our rest day. Still the highest concentration of beautiful yet convened in one place and time.
UPDATE: Misopogon has graciously corrected the typo. |

Rob Stone interviewed USA fans during the ESPN pregame and there was a Block M flag waving in the background. Go Yanks and Go Blue! |
| 2 years 48 weeks ago | Put Bradley in the good column |
I would definitely put Bradley in the good column. He's 22 years old and was paired with an MLS player in a center midfield that had to match up against Gerrard and Lampard, two of the best and most experienced midfielders in the EPL. He more than held his own, which in my mind is a fantastic performance given the context. I bet he plays in the EPL in 2011.
EDIT: Rico is in the Bundesliga. (But, due to injury, hasn't played much since he left the MLS) |
| 2 years 49 weeks ago | Look around |
Soccer is incredibly popular in the US. More youth play here than in any country except China. More World Cup tickets were sold in the US this year than in any other county. The US TV rights were the most expensive in the world, and ESPN and Univision are televising every game live. More Americans watched the 2006 Italy-France final than the NBA Finals that year. Stop trafficing in tired cliches and ignorance. |

Duffy's is great for a game in Chicago. Buffalo Billiards gets a HUGE UofM crowd in DC. |

| 4 years 45 weeks ago | Through these doors... | The sign above the entrance to the weight room says, "Through these doors walk the best conditioned, most disciplined, and hardest working football team in America." http://nextlevelfitness.typepad.com/photos/asap_results/dsc_0528.html Not to be the grammar police, but shouldn't it be: "Through these doors walks the... hardest working football team in America?" Team is a singular noun. That's the sort of mistake I expect from a less enlightened program. Ooooooooo Barwis. |
