Glenville 101 is building up press before an announcement.
Of course, I'd be happy to be wrong.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:33 PM ^
Please God, let this be true.... 2014! WOOHOOOO
January 3rd, 2014 at 6:20 PM ^
We should probably unneg the op be a use it sounds like there is actually smoke smoke here... I thought he was trolling us but nope. We may have a legit shot...
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:34 PM ^
He's not coming here.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:34 PM ^
Won't happen, don't get hopes up.
January 4th, 2014 at 12:35 PM ^
shouldnt we buckle up for safety sake? I mean it IS possible although not likely. I am not going to break the tradition. You will not be able to pin that on me.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:34 PM ^
I refuse to believe this.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:35 PM ^
There's a reason why the term "Glenville Games" was coined.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:36 PM ^
I'm pretty sure Steve Lorenz said on Twitter yesterday that there is no chance of this.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:36 PM ^
Commit watch for us? Or commit watch for OSU? Somebody can be on commit watch and it doesn't have to necessarily have to be for us.
January 3rd, 2014 at 6:53 PM ^
Lattimore and Smith are a package deal and its highly doubtful both will be coming here. Looks like good news for Ohio State.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:36 PM ^
More chances for Buckeyes to laugh at our expense. I'm not holding my breath.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:39 PM ^
This is all a very weird situation. I'm guessing this comes from this Scout Article. And according to the OSU SBNation blog, Marshon recently tweeted that people were going to be surprised by his and Erick (Smith)'s decision, although that tweet doesn't exist anymore. They're taking the view that Lattimore's just trying to build up suspense around his decision, which is plausible, since Kentucky people also seem confident.
In all likelihood, that's what's happening. Lattimore just took his official visit to OSU a few weeks ago, his only official, and hasn't been to Michigan since September (when he unofficial visited for the Notre Dame game.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:39 PM ^
That sounds like typical "Hey, watch us pick the school everyone thinks we're going to pick tomorrow - but in a surprising way!" bs that is fairly common.
January 3rd, 2014 at 6:25 PM ^
Much like Leonard Fournette's "I'm going to shock the world" talk before committing to the school that everyone had him committing to for months.
January 3rd, 2014 at 9:03 PM ^
I totally forgot about the Fournette events. Lol. Wow, we have had our share of recruiting issues in the past two seasons. How many times did we make the final two only to be spurned? It would be nice to pull a couple late cycle surprises though.
January 3rd, 2014 at 10:02 PM ^
Some of these services are losing subscribers and are throwing crap out there to make some bank. Its embarrassing. Hope 247 does not go here.
He is going to OSU. Nothing to see here. I mean, seriously, just read the headline of the scout article - is that professional? I would be embarrassed to write that garbage.
Webb and Trieu (sp?) are good and need to go elsewhere.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:47 PM ^
But But But... they say they're going to shock the world!
January 3rd, 2014 at 6:06 PM ^
Yes, and if they don't go to osu they are going to shock people by going sec or Miami, FSU or Clemson. We are headed in the wrong direction right now for these kids to stick their necks out as Gville kids and commit here. If you believe we have a shot at them then you are likely one of those wackos who thinks Tom Brady and Charles Woodson will come back to coach here after they retire.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:37 PM ^
Hate to be Debbie Downer but I'd rather have a no-name/2-star/under-the-radar class with a 13-1 season, BIG Championship and Rose Bowl victory...
239 days until kickoff (please Brady...just win!!!) #goblue
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:53 PM ^
That has nothing to do with the thread.
January 3rd, 2014 at 6:05 PM ^
The kids really need to go back to school so MGoBlog is readable again.
January 3rd, 2014 at 6:25 PM ^
Where did this come from??
January 3rd, 2014 at 9:42 PM ^
WTF 2 Stars? This post is turrible.
January 3rd, 2014 at 10:04 PM ^
even a wandering fool can find a couch to burn.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:38 PM ^
Even if it was to happen...I wouldn't get my hopes up till Feb 5 and the ink drying on the LOI.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:39 PM ^
I'm not one to refuse to get my hopes up, because I love getting my hopes up, but my brain is telling me this seems weird. Totally possible though.
Here's my conspiracy theory as to why this could happen: Smith and Lattimore want to be package deal, plan on going to OSU. OSU now tells Smith they don't have room for him, but they totally still have room for Lattimore. Being friends, these guys say "Dick move, OSU" which is why Smith delayed his commitment. They decide they still want to play together, and to stick it to OSU/stay close to home/get an education/whatever they pick Michigan because we have room for both.
That's not terribly far fetched, right?
I'm still not counting on it, because it certainly defies conventional wisdom.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:52 PM ^
Seems far fetched. Sorry to say it, but I don't see it happening. I will be plenty happy when Peppers signs his letter of intent .
January 3rd, 2014 at 6:00 PM ^
Lo siento
January 3rd, 2014 at 6:01 PM ^
Go buy a lottery ticket.
January 3rd, 2014 at 6:04 PM ^
They have always had room for both and if they didn't they would make room. They're not stupid, you don't turn down 4-star players from your number one pipeline.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:39 PM ^
I've been hearing that there's a chance something happens tomorrow from a couple different sources and people now. Not sure if Smith will announce tomorrow but Lattimore still might. Recruiting is fluid.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:40 PM ^
Not getting my hopes up!
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:43 PM ^
Qu'un sang impur abreuve nos sillons!
But I doubt it's worth getting up in arms about.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:43 PM ^
wrong glenville kid
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:43 PM ^
It's recruiting. Not much about it actually makes much sense. If it happens, sweet. If not, I won't be heartbroken.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:44 PM ^
Change the title of this thread. Thaught we actually were going to get a nice pickup and.........no.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:47 PM ^
Anyone who thinks these guys aren't going to OSU still calls MSU little bro probably.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:50 PM ^
I refuse to believe he lets two of his players show up UM like so many are saying they will. They may or may not sign with the good guys, but what they absolutely will not do is grandstand because Ginn won't have it. He maintains strong relations with former players
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:59 PM ^
I considered that angle as well, but now I'm not so sure.
January 3rd, 2014 at 6:11 PM ^
Yes. He knows that football scholarships are the not way some of his players from the worst streets of Cleveland are going to college, and he puts more effort into maintaining his reputation than any other HS coach. Now I know he had a vendetta against Lloyd Carr (not sure why) but I know he isn't gonna let two of his star players mess around like this. And if they were doing just that, then the crow you will see both eating will be because he made them. Who knows, they may end up at Ohio, but he won't let them make a fool of themselves in the process, as many are assuming they will
January 3rd, 2014 at 6:12 PM ^
Only, not "not"
January 3rd, 2014 at 7:06 PM ^
Pretty sure the issue had something to do with Pierre Woods.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:51 PM ^
Should we buckle up for a Ohio commit, I see ZERO reason to believe Lattimore is coming here. None, we might possibly walk away with Smith and even that's a BIG if.
January 3rd, 2014 at 8:07 PM ^
I'm hearing the exact opposite. Everything I've seen from numerous people say no way Smith is coming here. Hardly any will comment on Lattimore though. Many believe Lattimore will still take his visits even if he commits tomorrow.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:53 PM ^
My prediction: We get neither.
January 3rd, 2014 at 5:56 PM ^
"We get neither" = PAIN
so that sounds like a reasonable prediction, Clubber.
