...pro style. He won't attend as many camps as Shane and won't be able to put up crazy numbers his senior year. |
| 10 weeks 4 days ago | Beg to differ |
We moved from Detroit to SWVA and football is ALL there is for that side of the state. I attended Richlands High school and we have won several state titles and when there is a home game the majority of the whole town is there. I played with Mike Compton who spent eight years with the Lions and current Steeler TE Heath Miller is from there as well. In addition Ahmad Bradshaw is from the area as well. The problem is population.......about 40k in the entire county area. I would argue that football is the only sport followed west of Roanoke. |
| 11 weeks 3 days ago | Caris deserves the time but... |
I think you give the starting nod to Stauskas and allow him the minutes until he demonstrates lack of defensive effort. Shorten the leash a bit. Irregardless of Stauskas' play I would still like to see LeVert get about 40% of the minutes at that wing position. |
| 11 weeks 4 days ago | Prediction |
I forecast an afternoon of frustration, then hope, then joy, then frustration and ending with unwarranted anger and depression. Sparty will show us how to play defense and with passion.....we will demonstrate that we have more talent and show spurts of dominance and the result will be 78-70 Couch Burners. |
| 12 weeks 1 day ago | Yes! |
You nailed every point on this one. These guys are soft and, yes, I know they are freshmen. However, as we UM fans know....freshman absolutely can play with fire, emotion and passion. Man....I would love to see a little Rose and Webber in our boys (minus the $ handshakes, of course). |
| 12 weeks 1 day ago | Yep |
Sums up how I feel. I don't know how much more I can yell at the TV to block out and play some damn D! Every team outhustles us.....every one. What the hell? It is McGary and THJ playing with emotion and that is it. A whole game of "Aw shucks" defense. |
| 12 weeks 4 days ago | Bam...exactly |
Look, this blog is great and is THE cyber pub for all UM fanatics. I agree with Magnus....maybe this is an age related view; however, sometimes it is too much snark and over reliance on pop culture or insider references. This audience probably spans 50 years in age variation and, perhaps, that is not considered. Now that this has been mentioned, I do seem to move straight to the board more often. |
| 14 weeks 5 days ago | It is ridiculous |
...just how upset a 41 year old father of three can get over his teaming losing. Man, I need to put myself in a timeout. Arrrggggghhh... Here are just a few "Y U No"s.. 1) Y U No foul??!!! (Levert) 2) Y U No make layup??!!! (Team) 3) Y U No dunk it?!?!?! (McGary) 4) Y U No show up lately?!??!! (GRobIII) 5) Y U No play with emotion?!?! (everyone minus McGary and THJ) 6) Y U No box out ?!?!?!?!?!?! (Team)

| 15 weeks 1 day ago | Good pick up |
Born in Detroit but played my high school football in Virginia. There is a nice pool of talent there in the Richmond-Newport New-DC triangle area. I've been wanting Michigan to develop more ties in that area for years. Green and, now S8, hopefully help us build permanent relationships with some of those talent areas. |
| 17 weeks 6 days ago | With Hagerup |
, the wildest leg in town, this kid may get his scholarship any day now....if he has a punting resume. One thing I've learned is a Hagerup is gonna Hager. |
| 17 weeks 6 days ago | UA on the horizon? |
Has anyone else been curious as to whether UA gets a B1G contract due to its Maryland ties? I think it makes sense and I love what they did with Northwestern's uniforms. Just darken the blue and lighten up the maize and I'm on board. If done correctly UA is to B1G as Nike is to Oregon. Thoughts? |
| 18 weeks 4 days ago | I hear you |
Man, there are some comments and reactions on the board that make you cringe. |
| 18 weeks 4 days ago | Kid |
Probably just wants to make his own way. It was just a matter of time before one of the Cass kids pulled a Brady Hoke on the home town team. Hopefully we will take it on the chin better than the Ohio fans do when we pull talent out of their area. I love the focus on the Midwest but we need some other area to recruit, too.

Hail, Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| 19 weeks 6 days ago | Devon Allen |
...would be a nice replacement for Gallon! |
| 20 weeks 40 min ago | Good for B1G |
...and for PSU as well. I thought he would have a hard time leaving those players who stuck with him and the program. I don't see BOB as a guy chasing the bigger dollar or following his ego. Good for PSU. |
| 20 weeks 2 days ago | Couldn't believe |
I couldn't believe that when the SC player shoved his own coach, on the field for the entire stadium to see. They didn't even take the kid out or discipline him. Could you imagine if one of our guys did this to Mattison or Hoke? In addition,I believe SC had numerous personal fouls and acted poorly all game. I asked a couple of SC fans if they were proud of that type of behavior. No response. All in all it was one of the best games I've seen in person and I really thought we were going to leave RayJay with a win on that last drive. |
| 22 weeks 4 days ago | Whelp |
Matt Wile....step on up. |
| 22 weeks 4 days ago | Floyd hurts |
..plus kid is from South Carolina. He will regret this for a long time. Also, isn't the second incident with Hagerup? Will, the Outlaw Punter.....strongest leg in the Wild Midwest!
|
| 22 weeks 5 days ago | BTW.. |
Does anyone feel that Trey Burke is the hot girlfriend and the UM fanbase is the guy that knows she is eventually going to leave him for something better. Enjoy it while it lasts....kid is very, very good. |
| 22 weeks 5 days ago | Horford returned to the bench |
...later in the game with ice on the knee. Having completely blown my ACL, MCL and PCL I am familiar with the pain process. On first look, I thought he was seriously injured. Now, we might be looking at something less problematic. Here is hoping he is okay and the knee is structurally sound. I still believe he will be key for us in our B1G battles. |
| 22 weeks 5 days ago | You just don't.. |
..mess with the best uniform in college football. Seriously, does "New Coke" ring a bell? You can have the the best of both worlds by leaving the home uniform alone (other than returing to the Braylon Edwards era homes) and then experimenting with the aways. That being said, I still believe they are approaching the variety from the wrong angle. We need to stop focusing on trying to "splash" the jerseys. How about some blue pants with a nice clean white jersey for away games. They can even adopt the Northwestern look with the name across the front in blue on a white jersey with blue pants.....maize trim. Of course, once they don the home uniforms we stay with our traditional look. |
| 23 weeks 5 days ago | Hmmm..... |
I don't think anyone mentioned the Columbia restaurant on the Tampa side. Can't say that the area has great locally owned restaurants. |
| 24 weeks 4 hours ago | Here you go |
Here are a couple of links for you. Food: Wright's Deli (Dale Mabry); Acropolis (Ybor City); Bern's (Hyde Park); Datz Deli (SoTpa); Hidden Secret: Interbay Meat Market http://www.interbaymeatmarket.com/ where you can get a loaded Cuban themed plate of a meat and three sides for $5. I highly recommend the pork.
Do you prefer pubs/taverns or bars? Depending on that preference I can direct you to Ybor, ChannelSide or Hyde Park. Also there are a few places at International Plaze near the airport. You can catch a live show at Jannus Landing (excellent small music venue) in St. Pete, hit Clearwater beach or do the touristy stuff (Busch Gardens, etc.). |
| 24 weeks 4 days ago | Tickets: bought |
...work: off, beers: bought, vehicle: loaded, food: handled, parking: done.....who's with me???? I'm a season ticket holder for the Bucs...huge UM fan and ready to go. Let's take RayJay over.

| 26 weeks 4 days ago | Yep |
I don't see Poole receiving much playing time and I've wondered about Ringer as well. Two more years of JMFR and Morgan, plus three of Ross and Bolden and incoming talent.....someone is going to go. |
| 26 weeks 4 days ago | Yeah.. |
If this is true, why not reach out to Levenberry? I remember he and his father reaching out to Michigan a few months ago. I would love to be a fly on the wall in the recruiting office. |
| 26 weeks 4 days ago | Okay, I'll bite. |
...which certain player would that be? |
| 26 weeks 5 days ago | This just in: DG is legit (and water is wet). |
What Gardner gives you is access to the full receiver route tree. There were some passes that DRob just couldn't consistently make. DG is much more accurate (small sample size: noted) and is directly contributing to YAC due to better ball placement so as to not break the WR's stride. So, we love DRob...yep, got it. I never did understand why some board members overracted when his deficiencies were cited. With the exception of losing 4 OL next year I am much more excited about next year's offense than I was about this one. Now, lost in all of this is just how spoiled we are to have DG as a "back-up" option. Here is to hoping he has 4 TD's passing and DRob has 2 rushing next week in the toilet-bowl.

| 29 weeks 3 days ago | Nerve issues |
I am a recently retired veteran that has several nerve related injuries as I have several herniated/ruptured disks in my neck and back. When the neck injury is aggravated I have problems maintaining a strong grip on anything I may be carrying and I lose some strength in my arms. In addition, there is nothing you can do or take for it. Whether it is inflammation or another issue compressing that nerve, you can only reduce the impingement to bring about relief. I just hope he doesn't have permanent nerve damage. |
