Time to admit we are a helmet, a stadium and a song. Everything else is a fraud.

This is a disaster and just as with Hoke and RR, getting more embarrassing the longer it goes.

You have zero idea of what you are saying, it's clear you live in a bubble and therefore believe whatever your preferred opinion source says. And terrible people are those that wish others death, simply because they have different opinions than they do. Congrats

The same Koch’s how give millions per year to charity? I’m sure you’ve done more good in your life. What kind of a fucktard celebrates another’s death because of politics. Do better, ass clown.

Fair question. Yes, I am serious.  Michigan is definitely more than just a helmet, a stadium, and a fight song.  Of course the all-time tradition is fantastic. But Michigan has knocked on the door at times on the Harbaugh era,  and we are certainly far better off now than we were under the previous two resumes. Is it time to change the coaches? Perhaps, but we a perennial top 15 program is not just their past...

Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Iowa all look like very likely losses. Nothing I've seen through the first 3 games has me believing that Maryland or Indiana are guaranteed wins either. This team is going to have to learn a lot and show a shit ton of resilience if they're going to make a bowl game.

I cant help but agree with you. We are a program and a fanbase obsessed with image. The University of Michigan is an amazing institution but know body cares about that when it comes to the athletic department. We need to change how we do business on the football field and basketball court we will eventually become Army and Navy...relics of the past.

Edit: I have been drinking heavily

Thinking this is a problem with not having enough talent is dumb. They have blue chip players, not as many as Ohio State, Bama, Clemson, Oklahoma, or Georgia but enough that they have no business looking like a tire fire. The coaches have failed. They're around the 10th most talented team in the country. When your program never over-performs the talent level that they recruit, it's the coaches.

Michigan football generates as much revenue as any program in the country. I think we are more than "a helmet, a stadium, and a song." There is so much potential at UM, which is what makes this so frustrating.

Oh, so that 10 win season in 2018 didn't matter?

How about making a NY6 Bowl in 2016 with 10 wins?

The Rose Bowls under Carr?

We sucked today, but we've done some pretty damn good things (outside of a handful of seasons, 2008, 2014)

It’s true. What can we do though? What hire could have been better than Harbaugh? That was the best hire at the time. He was the hottest coach on the market. There isn’t a coach that compares to that kind of promise right now.

We’ve wasted the best O line we’ve had in 10 years.  At least we could run last year.  Not sure where we go from here but a lot of our weaknesses have been in the open all season.  We have below average DTs and average DEs.  We are high risk, high reward and fundamentally unsound.  We need to go full Big12 rest of season.  Our strength is our WRs....use them before they bolt.

The better question is, when am I going to emotionally detach myself from this program?

I chose this program to be different. I grew up in the heart of Ohio. I wanted to be different as a kid. Root for the other guys. Fuck running in the same pack, I'm different.

Oh how easy it would have been had I chose otherwise. But now I'm stuck, and have been for years. Unknowingly, as a child, I doomed myself to be a fan of mediocrity. And due to some unknown, undying fucking loyalty, I'm still here. I'm here every single year, subconsciously preparing myself to have my heart broken and my ego embarrassed.

I fucking identify myself with this shit, these colors, these helmets, these songs. Why? I didn't even fucking attend Michigan as a school. Why the fuck did I do this? I literally wait all year just to be fucked over in the fall. I have no control over something that has the power to make or break my own happiness. I have a fucking problem. One that runs deeper than colors or songs or helmets or coaches. It's, quite frankly, embarrassing to associate myself so closely with something that I've never been a part of which can't even be masked with "winning" as a reason for following them.

This team isn't pathetic for losing in one of the worst fucking games I've ever seen. I'm pathetic for being so emotionally affected by it.

See you guys next week. As part of my masochistic routine that will inevitably continue for the rest of my life.

To be completely honest, I have no idea why you would continue to do this to yourself as someone who didn't go to school at M. You got zero of the perks and all of the worst. Those of us who went at least got a world-class education. Granted, us graduates also probably have developed traumatic stress disorders or a substance abuse issues or general "I want to vomit off my skin" feelings after days like today... but we got an awesome education.

In other words: I actually don't have it worse than you today. There's one person in the world about whom I can say that.  Thank you very much <3

Apparently you haven’t been a fan for long as this is not the worst loss I’ve seen. Frustrating? Yes. End of the world? No. Go take your cheery self to another team if you choose. You’re free to do so.

Can't disagree. How long since we won a Big 10 outright? National title?-1997. We need a stud at QB, running back, stellar OL. That's the Ohio State way of offense.

Harbaugh in year 5 is a dud. We'll end up 6 and 6 this season, maybe 7 and 5. Yep, will be lucky to get a bowl birth.

Very sad state of affairs in Michigan football.
