| 1 week 2 days ago | Word is he transferred out |
Word is he transferred out because he was falling behind Chelf and Walsh on their depth chart in the spring. Walsh is the same year (eligibility wise) as Lunt. So I can see why he wanted to leave, the writing seemed on the wall, unless someone got injured. |

The staff wouldn't stop recruiting Scott because they got another WR to schedule an official visit |

The difference is I think Matthews is a better athlete than Schofield, and will have a year at LT under his belt before the pros. |
| 2 weeks 6 days ago | Teams aren't generally |
Teams aren't generally looking for their future RT in the top 50. Unless that team is the Jaguars, of course. He also needs to show he's more than just a road grater if he wants to move up that much. |

You are aware they had a better record than us this year, right? |

I think Roby came back to school to work on that, but he has all the physical tools to be a top-15 pick. |
| 2 weeks 6 days ago | Uhhhh.. |
...I think you're mistaking 'dual threat' for 'black'. Sure, Bridgewater can buy himself time in the pocket, but he's up there on draft boards because of his arm strength and football IQ. Running isn't any more a part of his game or the Louisville offense than it was for Geno Smith, although people assumed he was 'dual threat' too. |
| 3 weeks 1 day ago | Generally very low. Most |
Generally very low. Most teams only have about as many roster spots open as they have draft picks, so UDFAs really have to be special to make the team, or they have to get lucky. If I had to guess, Kovacs is the only one here that has a serious shot at making the roster. The good news? They'll still often have the chance to make six figures on the practice squad. |

I had someone close to the situation tell me Drake and his dad do not always...uhh...see eye to eye, and Drake's dad has a tendency to...step on toes. |

According to PFT, he was also hearing from.. Tennessee, Ole Miss and Mississippi State, and MAC schools Ball State, Miami (Ohio) and Northern Illinois. |
| 6 weeks 5 days ago | Based on what came out when he left... |
...I think a lot of it had to do with him feeling uncomfortable at Michigan, and not so much to do with the basketball team. If he's found a campus atmosphere that makes him more comfortable, I think he's probably happy. Of course he'll always wonder 'what if', but as long as he was transferring for the aforementioned reasons I don't think he's ever going to seriously regret it. |
| 6 weeks 5 days ago | First, with the incoming OL |
First, with the incoming OL classes we have, I don't think anyone will be relying on Gibbs to contribute any time soon. Second, there's no way a mediocre LB does that. Ross' quickness really shines on that play, because there's no power in that punch if he doesn't use his quick legs to propel it |

Waaaaaaayyy less of chance we'll ever hear about him again ever. |

| 9 weeks 2 days ago | Taco's been floating around |
Taco's been floating around the 250-260 pound range for about a year now. That doesn't ensure that it's good weight, but I don't think this is a sudden binge. I believe he played his senior year somewhere close to 260 |

Don't think we really need to be worried about Miller..290 is not that bad of a weight for a 6'3ish center. |

"Drake's entire family is fed up with the decommitment reaction from Sparty Fans." What, why? I thought Sparty didn't care he's not a commit anymore? |
| 10 weeks 1 day ago | Eh |
I don't feel like Harris is too worried about having someone good enough to throw him the ball.
|
| 10 weeks 1 day ago | "seems to like the touch pass" |
But that's making the assumption that he can fire it in there, which is an awful big assumption to make, considering he doesn't really ever do so in his highlights. |

..I live in Richmond right now. And I can tell you, although there are parts of the state that are 'football crazy', they're more centered in the VA Beach/Hampton Roads area. The Richmond area will produce a good football player every now and then (like Derrick Green), but they most often come from Hermitage, LC Bird, or Varina. The rest of this area, especially Speight's league, is...well...not so football crazy or talented. Also, not that I doubt that the guy's relatives have heard that, but I remember hearing that one of my friend's classmates in HS (Blake DeChristopher) was going to be the best thing since Duane Brown, the all-pro left tackle from Hermitage (who at that time was being hyped up as a 1st round pick), that he was going to be better than Joe Thomas (who was the 3rd overall pick in the 2007 draft), etc. He ended up being a solid starter for VT, but nothing more. He was signed as an UDFA by the Cardinals and cut about 3 days later. So I don't doubt that he heard that, but the point is locals will always tend to hype up their own. I'm not sure you can really use them as an objective standard. |

Better speed, acceleration, footwork, vision. Really the only common denominator between the two is that they will forever be lumped together as 'big backs'. |
| 10 weeks 2 days ago | I think Richard Ash is sorta |
I think Richard Ash is sorta destined to be a career back-up at this point. I know, I know, he's only a RS Junior, but he's effectively been passed by Peewee. The coaches have had 2 years to evaluate and coach him up and he keeps getting pushed down the depth chart. He wasn't bad when he played this year, but he's gotten every chance to feature more prominently and...hasn't. |
| 10 weeks 2 days ago | There's an interview |
There's an interview somewhere...maybe it was during the NSD stuff...from Coach Heck. He essentially says that Chesson was much rawer, not only physically but in the various facets of a WR's game. I think that's pretty much all it boils down to. Not to mention, if they think he has a higher upside, they'd probably plan on him leaving earlier anyway, so redshirting him wouldn't make much of a difference if that was their true motivation. Unless they just don't think Darboh has that high of an upside. But yeah, I think it's the first one. |

| 11 weeks 4 days ago | First, whether it's fair or |
First, whether it's fair or not, I think arm strength is one of the biggest determining factor for QB star rankings. They're trying to predict potential, remember, and arm strength is probably the most difficult thing to change about a QB. You aren't going to see many weaker-armed prospects at the top, or cannon-armed kids at the bottom. Not necessarily saying Speight fits into the flimsy arm category because it's really not all that bad, but I think the rankings guys are looking into that before everything you mentioned. Second, his competition sucks. |
| 11 weeks 4 days ago | Without knowing who Magnus |
Without knowing who Magnus is, I think a lot of people will trust him because he has built credibility over time. We don't appreciate Magnus because he says he's a coach, we appreciate him because we've seen a lot of his predictions come true over time, and his analysis of players is well reasoned and objective. |
