great coaching and we have that now.  Hitting or missing on a recruit isn't going to tip the balance here, I don't think.  Although getting 5 star players and it could be debated that Gary is THE top player in the 2016 class is definitely a PR bonanza and a morale boost something maize and blue fans need.

You need both. Especially if you want to beat Ohio State. Good coaching and development might be enough to beat MSU but that won't be enough to beat OSU.

I don't know how many people are grasping how far behind Ohio State we are.

This. We had good coaching and decent development in the 2000s but OSU was on another level with excellent coaching and excellent development. That's the reason they went to the most BCS bowls and have two national titles. They're strong everywhere. It's gonna be hard to replicate what they have, but if anyone can do it it's Harbaugh.

As was evidenced by how many players we put in the league. When every QB that took a snap for you made it to the league, then you are doing something right.

Carr's problem was that he was too conservative and often resistricted coordinators (especaily offesnsive) on what plays to call during the game (that tidbit came directly from a former Michigan OC). So you never saw Michigan's offensive unleash its full potential.

That and once Tressel came to OSU and tossed down the gaunlet, instead of responding Carr proved he wasn't up for the challenge and the team, as result, lost its mental edge against OSU that we have never been able to regain (that is a personal theory).

We will extrapolate and then exterminate...no replicating needed.  Just remember, OSU was widely derided for even making the 4 team playoff last year.  I get that the talking heads were wrong, but OSU is one of MANY schools good enough to be in the Nat Champ hunt.  I do NOT believe UM under Harbaugh is that far off from the Baylor's, TCU's and FSU's...and they were all thought (wrongly, in hindsight, but it's perception i'm fighting--not actual results) to be better than OSU.  We have a great deal of work to do, but now we have the proper Leader to get the Best results out of a talented roster that, previously, dramatically under-perforned.  Because we are Michigan...the Leaders and Best.

According to Brandon Brown, he and his mom "did not like Ohio State at all" and loved their time in Ann Arbor.

EDIT: Tim Sullivan echoed this with a different source and said it went "Jabrill Peppers visit to Ohio State bad".

Me thinks is that Bama will be the main competator.  OSU is pretty much dead in the water.

I am not too concerned with the northern teams...just hope that SEC bagman and "education" mantra doesn't play a role. Let's face it...SEC cannot hold a candle to our education...if he included ND, Northwestern, Cal...now I understand that. It SEC schools...no way!

Harbaugh runs over with the "bitch please, never again" slap. Mork would have his dumbfounded look on his face while Urbz would look flustered while thinking of his post-speech my "health" issue and I need to get back in the booth with the other shitty Buckeye announcers - i.e. ESPN.
