Aside from that?

"Slavish devotion?" Never saw it that way. I've seen references to comments that blew up in the staff's face; for example, the theory that teams fielding spread offenses will have inferior defenses (vs pro-style teams). We know that's incorrect. Hell, we knew it then.
I've also seen questions about the offensive coordinator's refusal to take "free yards" (bubble screen) ostensibly because bubble screens are linked to spread offenses. Why are those questions raised? Because of the offense's struggles.
There are discussions about constraints and counters. Why? Because of the offense's struggles.
There are discussions about walking up to the line of scrimmage with 8 seconds left on the play clock and not being about to check into something that will exploit what the defense is giving you. Is that a "spread" concept?
I've seen a slavish devotion to nothing more than wishing that the offense was efficient and productive - and that certain elements of other offensive philosophies COULD have increased this offense's efficiency and productivity. The thinking is that those alternatives will never be explored as a result of the staff's hidebound approach (special teams as well iirc; spread punt formation).

By continuing to e-mail compliance asking for clarification and they kept slow-playing him? By having newspaper reporters take statements from players and completely redefining the context? Stretch it to make it fit, I guess.
And LOL @ "zero progress." Beautiful piece of revisionist history.
|1 week 2 days ago||Heh||
Well I guess it sounded good to some.
|1 week 4 days ago||Saw "Derrick" and freaked out before I got to "Rose."||
This season has rendered me...preemptively sensitive.
|1 week 6 days ago||Good for him.||
No hate here.
|1 week 6 days ago||Lawl?||
He "inherited a program" whose recruiting was floating slowly downward (this has been discussed already). He also "inherited" Nick Sheridan and Steven Threet. Boren transferred because he didn't like hustling between plays. Stop acting as if he "inherited" an Aston Martin and promptly drove it through potholes while never getting it serviced. More like a Corvette that he stripped and attempted to rebuild.
Well. Tinkered with the engine and left the brakes to GERG.

Am quite familiar with FSU over the years, since I've followed ACC basketball since the 80s.
Under Leonard Hamilton they've never been a "run and gun" type. They've stressed athleticism, length, rebounding, and defense.
Last year they averaged 67 ppg, good for 186th. In 2011-12, they averaged 69.9 ppg, good for 124th. In 2010-11, they averaged 69.3 ppg, good for 154th. In 2009-10, they averaged 68.5 ppg, good for 186th. in 2008-09, they averaged...yes, you guessed it; 68.6 ppg, good for 155th.
You get the picture; a run and gun team they are not. But they will disrupt the timing of teams with their physical style of basketball.

|3 weeks 6 days ago||Including the MSU game, Michigan has...||
...presently? -68 yards rushing over the last two games.
|4 weeks 1 day ago||Does this help?||
"Michigan was bad at doing many things and the playcall matchups were often putting Michigan in terrible places from the start, like say running play action on second and fifteen with negative rushing yards on the day. That is what the RPS number tries to reflect: on how many plays did the two playcalls make M's job easier and on how many did it make it tougher?"
Apply that to, for example:
"MSU blitzing on 3rd and long, Michigan runs a screen that MSU sniffs out. RPS -3."
Edited to add: you don't have to necessarily lose 15 yards for a play to result in a RPS-3; for example; Brian's handed out RPS+2 on playcalls that resulted in only 2 yards, but the playcall put them in position to succeed. Example:
That's my understanding of it in theory anyway.

Hunched forward, I presume (from above, shoulders forming more of a slight "C" shape)? Proper technique on run blocks should be more of a "flat" back?
|4 weeks 3 days ago||Welp||
Well sheet. Didn't realize all four are on the road next year.
|4 weeks 3 days ago||He sure can't.||
Molk was First Team All-Big 10 and a Rimington Award Finalist in 2010.
In 2009 he was put on the watch list for the Lombardi Award.
Credit goes to Frey.
|6 weeks 1 day ago||Taylor Loowen's numbers are interesting.||
Interesting because talking heads claim that he hasn't been "dominant" (one game caveat/they don't use identical metrics applies). I wonder what they've been watching.

is Robert Paulson

"BUT being a snarky smart ass or asking about bubble screens to a coach that has for the most part been pretty good is what I am alluding to (among other things)."
|8 weeks 2 days ago||Yeah...||
...saw that live. Can still remember who I was watching the football game with, his response (*leaps off of the couch* "YEAH!! That's what I'm talking about!!!"), where we watched it...still remember it was near the sideline and I swear it was early in the game. Really, really violent collision.
|8 weeks 2 days ago||Always remembered||
that play against Minnesota. Figured that was a shoo-in for the "most Jake Ryan play" (or something similar) when that was discussed several weeks ago.
|8 weeks 3 days ago||Needs more slo-mo||
Curious to see what will be picture-paged this week.
|8 weeks 4 days ago||Perry...||
...go away. Stay away.
|9 weeks 4 days ago||Actually||
"We're at the point where we want to make sure, so one more day isn't going to hurt us. Darrell [Funk] rotates those guys through pretty good during practice. You see a lot of the same groupings.
"We need a little better play from the center, whether it's Jack or Graham, then Chris Bryant or Joe Burzynski as the guard."
...so. Delete your comment?
|12 weeks 1 day ago||"Forced?"||
As in no other viable options existed?
|12 weeks 3 days ago||YES to the slo mo.||
Might even complement the picture pages.
|13 weeks 1 day ago||Yikes||
That wasn't a complaint/admonishment; I was dumbfounded by the *possibility* (probability?) that their best highlights included punts.
|13 weeks 1 day ago||Whatchoo talkin' bout Willis?!||
I seriously hope you've just been awakened from a cryogenic tube. Odd thing is the announcer, during the WMU game, DID accidentally say Blake Countess was the one injured instead of Drake Johnson.
And wait, wait...wait. Seriously? The first several highlights from the MSU game are punts?

|14 weeks 6 days ago||"when one coach violated..."||
i *think* that was Florida if one recalls comments he made before about taking a step back from recruiting and how Florida still pressed him.
