"It's a lot easier being a drug dealer than an AAU coach" - this guy. Tell me something I don't know. I mean, don't think but have never tried either.

Believe in Year 2 it was at least decent. Keep seeing Omameh, Lewan, and Schofield mentioned. Frey is responsible for molding them...Molk also I believe. Maybe scheme dependent? No idea what to think about Funk anymore.

"Borges always had the same answer: his players didn't execute."
Same quote across various publications.
|5 weeks 1 day ago||"If players execute, his offense will work."||
You were saying?
|5 weeks 1 day ago||Which aspect?||
Player development: Will Campbell? The CB's name who fails me at the moment - JT Floyd I believe? Jake Ryan? Q Wash? Desmond Morgan? Frank Clark? Henry?
|5 weeks 1 day ago||There's a direct quote||
Will have to retrieve it. The interpretation was that Borges...pretty much threw players under the bus. Plenty were very disappointed with his wording. Halfway down the page: "Borges attributed the struggling offense to players failing to execute..."
|5 weeks 1 day ago||Correct||
That was Borges' lament. Regularly mentioned a lack of player execution; once said "there's a good offense in there somewhere." Hoke and Mattison always blamed their coaching.
|10 weeks 6 days ago||He does "hate" Roy Williams.||
Pretty well-known around UNC circles. This is totally unrelated to the revelations - i.e., they may or may not be accurate - but he has blamed Roy Williams for his failures, and his father has frequently joined in (urged him?). For example, after Larry Drew left (purposely) in the middle of the season after Kendall Marshall replaced him in the starting lineup (there was pressure from Larry Drew's mother for him to continue starting), James McCants posted:
"He did what was best for him, simply because THE CURRENT COACH IS A PIECE OF (EXPLETIVE) (EXPLETIVE) AND i DON'T RECOMMEND ANYONE GET RECRUITED BY HIM HE WILL WRECK YOUR CAREER IF YOU ARE NOT AWARE OF HIS UNDERHANDED TACTIC AND INSINCERITY. BEWARE!!!!!!!"
Interested in what others around the league said about McCants? http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1037402&sid=459c01a4...
Contrast what he's saying today with what he said in 2004:
In an interview that aired on WRAL-TV on Friday night, McCants compared playing college basketball to being in jail. He also said he considered his time in the program to be his job.
"It's to get up and go to school, get here and lift weights and play basketball," McCants said in the interview. "That's my 9-to-5. As my uncle said, I'm in jail right now. You're not allowed to do certain things, you're not allowed to say certain things."
Many (including his teammates) always thought he was bi-polar.

"Thick upper body, narrow from waist down, which is how I like tackles."
Mind expounding? I thought I recalled seeing a prominent coach proclaim that he looks for the opposite in OL - a big bottom/wide base. I'm thinking your preference has something to do with projected mobility/lateral movement.

With John Byrne, was it? Iconic story arc yes, but have started to take a lowered expectations approach to the X-Men movies. On a related note, thought "The Wolverine" was positively blah.
Not sure how many comic book collectors are on the site, but personally love Fassbender as young Magneto. Halle Berry I just can't get into as Storm; might be because I'm thinking of the Ororo after Forge zapped her/when she tore Callisto a new one personality. Berry comes across as very...wooden. Am warming up to McAvoy as the younger Xavier as well.

Well, apparently that cat wasn't supposed to be let out of the bag yet; Steve removed his story/article.
|23 weeks 6 days ago||Maybe he's changed.||
He used to post on Scout years ago until some huge blow up between MaizeMan, Eroc, and coachBT which resulted in MM getting banned and Eroc/coachBT moving on. Betting dollars to donuts that the name "GBMW" was their way of thumbing their noses at Scout's "GBW."
I'll never forget their 2008 spring analysis, claiming how dominant the secondary would be based on their observations. Guh.

|27 weeks 4 days ago||Thought OL woes||
mainly resulted from inexperience, youth, and constantly being put in a position to fail (e.g., lots of reshuffling/no time to gel, a variety of different blocking schemes, etc). If that is indeed the case...I presume a decent argument for maintaining Funk can be made. Moreover, iirc Funk is an inside zone guy, and of course that was a (the?) staple blocking scheme at Alabama.

Love how he sampled The Isley Brothers there.
