Delicious Schadenfreude: Michigan National Championship Edition
We really needs a dedicated schadenfreude thread- I'll start:
Rent-free schadenfreude: 11 Warriors and RCMB are littered with angry butt-hurt, obsessive jealousy, desperate excuse-making, predictable denial, and deliciously sweet tears. Drink it in!:

Just looking at all those bitter thread topics is absolutely fucking hilarious.
January 9th, 2024 at 9:28 AM ^
indeed! And RCMB had a game thread that was sort of enjoyable to read too
January 9th, 2024 at 10:57 AM ^
They haven't heard of a Penix beating this bad since the days of Mel Tucker.
January 9th, 2024 at 1:47 PM ^
Literally laughed out loud. 1000 upvotes if I could.
January 9th, 2024 at 9:44 AM ^
Truthfully this stuff from our rivals about Harbaugh being a cheater etc makes this so much more fun than it already was. I hope they continue the whining for years.
January 9th, 2024 at 1:39 PM ^
Don’t worry; they will. Spartans will.
January 9th, 2024 at 2:21 PM ^
If I had a dime for every cheating comment on any and all articles about Michigan football, I could pay off my mortgage.
January 9th, 2024 at 2:54 PM ^
And enjoy a month in Europe.
January 9th, 2024 at 8:46 AM ^
The fact that OSU and Sparty are so upset over this almost feels better than actually winning it all.
January 9th, 2024 at 10:19 AM ^
Reading every butthurt comment from Buckeye/Sparty fans is like winning the National Championship over and over again. "But cheating?!!" "ASTERISK!" "It doesn't count because it hurts my fee-fees!!"
God dammit, I'm gonna savor every salty little comment from these dweebs
January 9th, 2024 at 8:48 AM ^
97.1 is bankrupt? Oh please let that mean Valenti and Rico get taken off the air.
January 9th, 2024 at 8:50 AM ^
I think it's safe to say that we can put this whole "They Cheated!" thing to bed. Nice try, though, Buckeyes....
January 9th, 2024 at 9:20 AM ^
My OSU buddies are chirping about how our title is going to be vacated in less than six months. Because of course they are. I love those guys, but damn, when it comes to all things OSU vs Michigan, throw rational thought out the window. Of course, I freely and fully admit that if the shoe were on the other foot, I’d probably be saying similar things. 🤣
January 9th, 2024 at 9:21 AM ^
I would be surprised if they knew what "rational" is
January 9th, 2024 at 10:17 AM ^
Yeah they probably always forget to say q not equal to 0
January 9th, 2024 at 10:20 AM ^
To be fair, they already admitted that they go there to play school so *shrug*
January 9th, 2024 at 9:41 AM ^
That is the last straw they have to grasp so of course that's what they are saying. Nothing will be vacated and OSU is just going to be left with their narrative of excuses which is what their fanbase has come to be throughout the last 3 years. Their Coach is the chief of excuses so just plan on hearing it forever. The games were played and Michigan won them all. No one can ever take away what was already seen. Go Blue!
January 9th, 2024 at 9:46 AM ^
If Harbaugh ends up leaving, the whole CFB world is going to be in a frenzy when we are barely punished. Even if he doesn't leave, I can't see them punishing Harbaugh much more given he already served 3 games
January 9th, 2024 at 10:21 AM ^
Heads will explode, mostly from the haters though. I am here for that!
January 9th, 2024 at 11:18 AM ^
As we all know, this is one big nothing burger.
And atop that, ncaa has zero authority to vacate a natty even if they wanted to.
More Ohio ignorance.
January 9th, 2024 at 8:50 AM ^
They expose who they are. Pity.
January 9th, 2024 at 8:50 AM ^
Wait till Harbaugh and JJ come back. Those sites will be even more glorious with the worry of repeat..
January 9th, 2024 at 9:51 AM ^
And they will announce at the Basketball game on Monday against The Ohio State University! Please make this happen Jim and JJ.
January 9th, 2024 at 10:35 AM ^
That would be pretty amazing, wouldn’t it? (Of course, when it comes to Michigan basketball, we all know that sacrifices were made to the gods for the sake of Michigan football.)
January 9th, 2024 at 8:53 AM ^
Man I'm almost tired of the rivalry stuff, it's so negative and hateful, it actually detracts from the thrill of victory for me
January 9th, 2024 at 8:56 AM ^
Right now I tend to agree with you. It’s great they are upset, but I don’t care. This moment and season is about joy.
January 9th, 2024 at 9:03 AM ^
I enjoy a good schadenfreude, but the toxicity of fanbases and talking heads really poisons the college game. Outside of Mgoblog and the podcasts, the only other place I go to for College Football content is the Sirius College football station. I can stomach Eleven Warriors for the most part, but I find RCMB to be a miserable depressing blog.
January 9th, 2024 at 9:14 AM ^
RCMB is a miserable, depressing blog because it’s filled with miserable, depressed people. I’ve never seen so much anger, hatred, and self-loathing in a fanbase, or any group of people for that matter (excluding Trump supporters). It’s almost sad. But we’re not here to talk about that.
January 9th, 2024 at 9:25 AM ^
What kills me about MSU fans is that they became even more arrogant/cocky/ridiculous on social media AFTER the 49-0 embarrassment. Like, maybe take a step back and re-evaluate? 🤣
Ohio State fans are absolutely insufferable, for the most part, but they aren’t *nearly as deluded* as MSU fans are.
January 9th, 2024 at 9:17 AM ^
There used to be someone in the RCMB forums who was a good writer and I learned a lot about MSU football from reading his game previews, reviews, etc. I don't know what happened to him but there's nothing good over there anymore as far as I know. I don't care to hear what MSU and OSU folks say when they're just lashing out, because they get so bizarrely personal with their hate. One thing I did notice during the dark years is that they talk about us just as much when we're losing as when we're winning. At this point, OSU and MSU are just like mosquitos. Slap them, brush them off, and preferably just find a spray that will keep them away.
January 9th, 2024 at 9:21 AM ^
I think this has always been the worst part of CFB (compared to the NFL). I know some love the tribalism, but for me, there's something about walking down the street with a Lions shirt on and having not a single person be bothered by it. I love the unity that comes from pro sports.
Having said that, this means so fucking much to me. It's been a part of my identity since I was 6 and now I can finally breathe. There will be a new champion next year and in the years following, but for now, we are undisputed national champions. All the tears I've cried over the years (Spartan Bob, losing to OSU countless times being the main ones) and all of the pain I've held inside is gone. My 12 year old self can die happy.
I love this team. I love this school. I love Coach Harbaugh.
Life is fucking good. Go Blue.
January 9th, 2024 at 9:48 AM ^
Even r/CFB, which for the most part was fine, has reached a level of toxicity and stupidity that makes it impossible to have rational discourse. At point in time, I thought people over there actually knew ball, but the Stalions stuff has shown they don't
January 9th, 2024 at 1:53 PM ^
I could stomach 11W *before* the Stallions stuff. In 2021 and 2022, it was so fun going there after The Game and reading all the angry posts about firing everyone, the team was soft, etc.
Now it appears to be nearly as much of a cesspool as RCMB. I went there after their bowl loss to Missouri b/c I couldn't help myself. Then I went again after the Rose Bowl and while some are reasonable enough to admit reality, most are still stuck on the BuT tHeY cHeAtEd BS. So I enjoy the OP's screenshot of the bitter thread titles but I won't go there myself today.
January 9th, 2024 at 9:25 AM ^
The MSU rivalry is 100% toxic at this point, I would rather we not even play them every year to cool things down.
January 9th, 2024 at 9:53 AM ^
no because not absorbing their annual shellacking will fill them with unearned confidence
January 9th, 2024 at 9:27 AM ^
I kind of want to click on the "best burger in Ohio" thread.
January 9th, 2024 at 8:56 AM ^
Bunch of fucking losers
January 9th, 2024 at 8:57 AM ^
Nicely done, OP, nicely done. :)
January 9th, 2024 at 8:58 AM ^
We live rent free....
It's good to be America's team.
January 9th, 2024 at 8:58 AM ^
I just don't have it in me to go read those sites so I am grateful for those of you who make the sacrifice and post these, I'm certainly not above laughing my ass off.
January 9th, 2024 at 9:06 AM ^
I get that they want to see us taken down a notch so they can feel better about their losing. But the sheer level of delusion and denial is truly mind boggling. It's like a bunch of 5 year olds.
January 9th, 2024 at 9:01 AM ^
Some narratives that are dead this morning.
1. You can't win a NC without top 5 recruiting classes.
2. Harbaugh's offensive style will never win a NC.
3. It's an offensive game now. Defense no longer wins championships.
4. It just means more.
January 9th, 2024 at 9:55 AM ^
That is the beauty of what this team has accomplished. As we sit here and realize that Michigan won because of leadership and players that constantly had the focus of the team the team the team, all outsiders are just flabergasted on how Michigan even won a championship. It wasn't because of all the 5 stars we have. This more than anything else will be written about for months to come because we just dominated college football because we wanted it more than anyone else.
January 9th, 2024 at 9:01 AM ^
There's hours of reading gold in there to look forward to!
January 9th, 2024 at 9:02 AM ^
I love it.
January 9th, 2024 at 9:02 AM ^
Who? Fuck osu
January 9th, 2024 at 9:02 AM ^
DIE MAD
January 9th, 2024 at 9:06 AM ^
A sad and sorry lot, licking their wounds, begrudging their superiors.
Reading some of the haterade comments out and about, it really makes me glad I’m not naïve enough to think The Stalions Efect was a critical part of M’s success these last few years. I feel bad for the very young fans, though: the kids who don’t understand, as I’ve had to talk some of my friends’ disheartened children off a cliff about the whole thing. Which really pisses me off- those joy-thieves preying on the weak and credulous. They are despicable, and have a deleterious impact on society.
