I don't care to hear what MSU and OSU folks say when they're just lashing out, because they get so bizarrely personal with their hate. One thing I did notice during the dark years is that they talk about us just as much when we're losing as when we're winning. At this point, OSU and MSU are just like mosquitos. Slap them, brush them off, and preferably just find a spray that will keep them away.
Wendy, It legit reminds me of the "YOU'RE A BOWL OF WORMS!" v "SHUT UP SMELLY FACE!" fights between the kiddos in their early years. Except the kids were more creative and frequently switched it up with things like "butt nose" and "fat ears." But if scUM is their thing, let them have it. If I had to respond to some Bama weirdo I would probably just say something lame. “You must be the token sec team?” “Congrats on that CFB lottery ticket.” “That Bama education is really working out for you.” “Who are you guys again?” Or something equally dumb. I was 17, we had been out all night, and I had a friend with me who screamed at me as soon as the car started to drift to the side of the road. That was terrifying, and we didn’t even get into an accident. I just couldn’t believe I fell asleep. Literally, I didn’t think I had, but I obviously did. Lesson learned, I’ve not done it again. Adults with driving (and life) experience should know better, but a lot of people in the “I know what I’m capable of” category don’t believe it can happen to them, they think they can just push through. 🤷♀️
Sexual assault is truly a problem everywhere, no one has a moral high ground on the crime itself. But MSU as an institution is just bad at handling this shit. The institutional response is something that anyone can legit criticize and it has nothing to do with re-traumatizing the victim. We have obviously not been perfect in this area, I’m quite ashamed of how Anderson’s behavior was accepted. But time and time again with MSU, in the news, because they screwed up as an institution. It’s ok to talk about that, even if it’s a rival school.

And I’m not even complaining about that, just shut up about “unfair advantage.” Or at least get a better understanding of how “fair” things are when you take a comprehensive look at college football, rather than when you “choose to look through the lens” of Tony, Ryan, etc.
I always thought the hate toward CS was a bit much, and it was probably made worse by the fact that he's so weird, with the vacuum cleaners and the manifesto. The only reason he seems sketchy to me is the Blake Corum thing, otherwise he would just be a geeky football-obsessed dude. That said, I don't keep up with CS rumors and goings-on, because I just never cared much. I was always paying attention to the conference, I really didn't care one bit about what CS did because I never believed there was an advantage from it, or there was some player safety thing, or anything else. I always thought it was an accepted practice to watch your opponents, and had no idea it was so weirdly forbidden by the NCAA.
Nobody wants to say "I don't care that we broke a rule," but in this case, I'd bet most of us don't care about breaking the rule so much as we care about not being cheaters. Figuring out the opponents' signals is not cheating unless it's prohibited and enforced across the board. Since it isn't, this whole thing is dumb. If someone broken into Ryan Day's office to steal his notebook of signs and big secrets, that would be B&E and cheating. But going to a public event as a spectator and looking for patterns? It's a stupid thing to prohibit or worry about. You're supposed to hide your signals because your opponents are going to look for them. It's all just so stupid.
He should just be Harbaugh. Graciously accept the trophy, give his thanks & praise, credit the team, and whatever else he would have done if the conference hadn’t screwed him with its dick-of-stupidity over the last couple months. That’s the behavior he wants to model for the team.
If you aren’t digging into rules and precedent, etc., then the conference does look like an asshole when comparing NW & M. And although I agree that the 2 “scandals” have completely different contexts, I’m fine with the conference looking like an asshole. It takes an asshole to roll out that suspension when & how they did.

So a board member may be trying to hint at something because he or she can’t say anything more.
