I have seen Dunn play for the past 3 years. He doesnt have Wheatley speed at all. The Ricky Powers comparison is much more accurate. Brionte was at the Penn St/Bama game last week. |

I'm liking the Vincent Smith praise. He's been through a lot at Michigan. Really a solid all around back now that he's healthy again. |

Yeah I didnt think it was a big deal, just a general observation. I played both both offense and defense also. Dunn only plays tailback. Its understandable given he is the entire offense, but it is unique to see a kid with such talent not on the field for crucial defensive stops. |

I just wasn't sure if anyone was too concerned about him, since it appears he wants to stick with Ohio. |

If anyone is intersted in Brionte Dunn. He had @40 carries for @270yds tonight for Canton Glen Oak vs Massillon Tigers. I've been watching him for 3+ years now. His performance on the field is as advertised, but I've always been bothered by his warmup routine. He doesn't stretch with the rest of the team. He's always off by himself with a trainer. Just seems as if he's above the team. |

Its gonna take 5 guys to block Mike Martin, so i think we'll be ok. |

Denard is clearly the highlight of RR's tenure. It doesnt mean he's the only good player on the team. I dont really know where you're coming from on any of this. The topic here was Rodriguez and why he failed as a coach. I believe Michigan has plenty of talent. I did not list talent evaluation in reasons for his dismissal. You think we had good special teams during his tenure. I disagree. Having a great return game one year is great, but that is a portion of special teams. You don't win games playing the way we did. Period. The coach is responsible. He gets paid. The players (at most schools) don't. |

I said nothing negative about any of the players. I didnt single anyone out and bash them. I blamed the man in charge, who was paid significant money to win football games. I'm sorry if you feel like we had some great coach and special teams guru with RR. So criticism by any poster on here is considered attacking UM players? Good to know. Guess 99.9% of the people on this site hate Michigan. Including Brian. Interesting. |

What team did you watch the last 3 years? I watched the University of Michigan. You see any dropped punts or kickoffs? How about missed fg's? Rich brought us Denard and we can be thankful for that. |

Thanks. I judge a coach by what I see on the field. Thats where his leadership skills should be reflected. On a side note...I'm watching Brionte Dunn right now. Very strong kid. Would look great in a winged helmet. |

I liked the RR hire when it happened. Unlike most I have no problem admitting I was dead wrong. I'm aware of all the excuses that have come up over the last 3+ years, so spare me. RR was not leading the team down a path to success no matter how you slice it. Turnovers, poor tackling, pathetic special teams, guys out of position...the list goes on and on. These things are a direct result of poor coaching...not Lloyd Carr...not the Freep...not the old/cranky fanbase. Time to move on and hope for the best. This is Michigan. |

Seems like Miami is struggling to come up with a good defense. I suggest the 3-3-5. |

He should have given his UM gear to T Pryor. Dude is broke as a joke. Hopefully the salvation army shows mercy on the poor kid who received a 150k education for nothing. |

Thanks Denard! You make Saturdays special for us all. |

We kept the best thing of all from the RR era. Denard! You won't have to ever worry about him dancing in the endzone. All class. |
| 2 years 18 weeks ago | I'll take it as a good sign |
I'll take it as a good sign that a longtime NFL tackle gets worked up over losing a coach. He must have liked Hoke if he got that worked up. |
| 2 years 18 weeks ago | Its time to let go. Its |
Its time to let go. Its over. Any true fan wanted RR to work out. It was going nowhere. Open your eyes. Were we a better team at the end of the season than we were the beginning? Not in any of the past 3 seasons. |
| 2 years 18 weeks ago | I'm hoping for big things |
I'm hoping for big things from Micheal Cox. I've been reading for years now about all the talent he has. Most of the UM backs seem to think he's the most physically gifted. This may be his year to break out. |
| 2 years 19 weeks ago | I've always believed that RR |
I've always believed that RR would succeed from day one. I believed he was the innovative mind we needed at the time to bring UM up to speed. But...I also believe he didn't fully understand what he got into. While his offensive concepts are impressive at times, we weren't really built to handle any kind of physicality or inclement weather. The reason I focus on Ohio St is due to the fact that: 1. I hate them as any UM fan does 2. They have been on top of the Big 10 for years. We all want to be that team so why not get a guy that understands how we all feel about that. Tressel understood the other side of it when he took over and proceeded to beat UM immediately with another coaches recruits. That obviously led to other good things. Hoke may or may not be that guy. I'm not sold either, but he may be with his background. Who wouldn't love to hear "Ohio States time is over" from the new HC at the first presser? It's a bad spot UM is in. No way around it. Not too proud of the way this all went down. I wouldn't have been opposed to RR staying another year but we all know Michigan wasn't even close to the level of respectability in football right now. No doubt RR was not given a fair shot by the useless fiction novelists at the Freep, but he knows there was one way they would all shut up. He just couldn't get it done. |
| 2 years 19 weeks ago | I would say that |
I would say that understanding beating Ohio St would have you build your team with the abilty and style to do so. I'm hoping several candidates get that. If we want to be the best in the Big 10, then that's where it starts IMO. By no means am I claiming Hoke is the only or best option for this. I was just not gonna jump like most if he gets hired. Sometimes a guy just is the right guy. |
