Tuesday Morning Dumps
Tuesday morning after a loss may well be the worst time for a college football fan. The loss still stings just as bad, but the hopeful, resolute feeling from Monday has gone by the wayside. There is little left but to force yourself to evaluate the previous performance, and still 5 days before you have a chance to prove the previous game an anomaly rather than the growing norm.
Who's got good M news to banish the doldrums?

Are these the same as my Saturday morning pre game nervous poops?
October 12th, 2010 at 8:29 AM ^
Stinks either way.

I thought this was going to be a thread about Mexican food

Who's got good M news to banish the doldrums?
We have Denard for 2 1/2 more seasons.
October 12th, 2010 at 9:22 AM ^
We've still got Lloyd Brady too!! So we've got that going for us!!
October 12th, 2010 at 9:27 AM ^
can whip up a Lloyd Brady T-Shirt
October 12th, 2010 at 10:59 AM ^
How much longer do we have Lloyd? Has he taken his redshirt already?
October 12th, 2010 at 9:24 AM ^
The way I see people quickly turning on coach after the loss to state and the old school Bo crowd wanting a michigan man coaching michigan. I can see Denard following coach rod with many other players on this team transferring to coach rods next destination. I hope I am wrong but I can see this staff at Georgia, Lsu, or even back at WVu. Remember most of these kids are very young still have redshirts and wouldnt lose anything it they transferred. I hope Denard is here 2 1/2 more years along with coach but I think Michigan could end up messing this one up for not being patient.
October 12th, 2010 at 9:53 AM ^
So you are saying that RR is gone after this season and a majority of the team transfers with him? Are you being sarcastic or just plain stupid?
I apologize for being a dick if you are being sarcastic, but if not you need to realize that RR is extremely unlikely to go anywhere after this season.
Edit: After reading your post again, I have realized that I may have been a little off base on what I said above. However, whatever people are saying about RR being fired after this year is hogwash. He is going to be our coach next year and for a long time. He has a proven offense that is just starting to show excellence and potential, and he is catching the attention of a ton of defensive recruits. RR is doing as good of a job as he can and we will continue to improve this year and beyond.
October 12th, 2010 at 9:57 AM ^
that we would lose a ton of players to transfer if RR was fired? Didn't we just see the same thing when lloyd retired?
October 12th, 2010 at 10:01 AM ^
No I will agree with that, but that is assuming that he is going to be fired. RR is not going anywhere at least this year because DB has his back. DB has a ton of confidence in him, and any somewhat intelligent being sees that if RR is fired, UM is back to square one where it was in 2008. I think DB has more intelligence than that.
October 12th, 2010 at 10:05 AM ^
I agree with you 100%.
October 12th, 2010 at 9:51 AM ^
Moot point because it won't happen, but if RR was fired after this season, he wouldn't be a head coach next season.
October 12th, 2010 at 9:57 AM ^
I'm sure he would be. Maybe not a big time D-1 school. But definitely a mid-line D-1 school at the very least. He is a great coach that is fighting through a lot of adversity with this team. Some AD would pull the trigger in a heart beat I bet.
But like you said, it is a moot point. Not going to happen anytime soon (not after this season at least).
October 12th, 2010 at 10:00 AM ^
I'm not to sure about that one. I think he would have a job in no time
October 12th, 2010 at 11:04 AM ^

October 12th, 2010 at 10:04 AM ^

Cause I'm worried about you.... You seemed pretty upbeat here-

http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/meta-i-would-applaud-mgoboard
And had (somehow) moved on. And now you're down in the dumps. Seems a little manic-depressive.
(kidding. mostly.)
October 12th, 2010 at 8:51 AM ^
that I'm soon going to have to look at the UFR for that thing. Bleh.
October 12th, 2010 at 8:58 AM ^
That the DEFENSIVE UFR is going to be the good one....
(we used to at least be able to hold out for one good one...)
October 12th, 2010 at 8:54 PM ^
hehe. Oh, 1997, when things were simple-run howard, run a-train, pass for TD to TE rollout. Then our D owned everyone.
October 12th, 2010 at 9:54 AM ^
Stage 1: "Shock and Disbelief" Stage (set in at halftime for me).
Stage 2: Anger Stage (set in soon after the start of the second half for me)
Stage 3: "Rebound" or "Next Week" Stage (BlazeFire was clearly in this stage in his previous posts)
Stage 4: Relapse Stage (seen in BlazeFire's current post - can materialize as shock or depression)
Stage 5: "Sober" Stage (will likely set in on Thursday after reading the UFRs)
October 12th, 2010 at 10:41 AM ^
Stage 1 carried through the game. And I'm still in Stage 2.
I don't think I get to 3 or beyond till we win another game. Which, unless this weekend goes amazingly well, could be a really long time (Football wise).
Stupid bye.
October 12th, 2010 at 8:57 PM ^
Cackle with glee when Denard blazes past Iowa's D this Saturday.
October 12th, 2010 at 8:39 AM ^
At least it is still football season! After two off seasons with no bowl game I am just happy to be watching football again. We play in 4 days!
October 12th, 2010 at 9:11 AM ^
Two years without the extra practice time is huge, plus it ruined my holidays.
October 12th, 2010 at 1:03 PM ^
...practice time, eh? [Cognitive dissonance, hurting my head]
October 12th, 2010 at 8:46 AM ^
well, I don't know if it helps you or not, but my Tuesday morning dump went swimmingly.
October 12th, 2010 at 8:48 AM ^
Yeah, I was kinda hoping that the OP had posted this from his iPhone
October 12th, 2010 at 8:56 AM ^
if so, avoid the burned legs.
October 12th, 2010 at 8:50 AM ^
It is wise to chew.
Yeah... my brain is doing strange things this morning, and I have something wrong intestinally, so I hate those having a good time of it right now.
October 12th, 2010 at 8:53 AM ^
Well I definitely feel better after my Tuesday morning dump.
October 12th, 2010 at 8:59 AM ^
Mr. Spots is only now rearing its ugly head again.
October 12th, 2010 at 9:00 AM ^
Fruit is key. That and better gap integrity on defense.
October 12th, 2010 at 9:45 AM ^
October 12th, 2010 at 9:01 AM ^
We don't have to play MSU for a whole year!
Oh. Wait. Nevermind. I'm terrible at this whole consoling thing.
October 12th, 2010 at 9:57 AM ^
October 12th, 2010 at 9:09 AM ^
I'd like to take a dump in all of the haters' shoes right now. 1 bad game and apparently RR and company are terrible again.
October 12th, 2010 at 9:11 AM ^
Not terrible, but coming up flat in rivalry games is definitely getting old.
October 12th, 2010 at 9:20 AM ^
We've beat the luck out of the Irish (who I hate more than Sparty).
October 12th, 2010 at 9:49 AM ^
Yes, but so has everyone else.
October 12th, 2010 at 9:56 AM ^
You'll never be a therapist - we're trying to console BlazeFire here!
October 12th, 2010 at 9:20 AM ^
Your making everyones tuesday dumps worse. This is supposed to be a good news thread.
put a /s at the end of your post or something please, kthx.
October 12th, 2010 at 11:15 AM ^
Sorry. When I think of dumps, I think of this picture. I hope it brightens everybody's spirits.
October 12th, 2010 at 12:24 PM ^
HAHA. Now that is more like it!
October 12th, 2010 at 4:44 PM ^
Not terrible, but coming up flat in rivalry games is definitely getting old.
"Flat" is not the way I'd describe our emotional state on Saturday. I saw a team that was a little too amped up (especially Denard) and was forcing things too much.
October 12th, 2010 at 9:53 AM ^
thankfully my wife left after I took my Tuesday morning dump. It is going to be awhile before the stink is out of the bathroom.
