Jay Harbaugh Continues to Hear Amaizing News
February 2nd, 2015 at 4:17 PM ^
Heptarch lacks knowledge understanding football.
Zero 5 stars played in the Super Bowl. Plenty of 2-3 stars DID play in the super bowl. The type of "stars" Jay Harbaugh should "check" his enthusiasm on...
February 2nd, 2015 at 4:56 PM ^
Where did I say he shouldn't be enthusiastic about the kids he's bringing in? I said that by gushing over everyone in a public forum he risks people not taking his praise seriously.
February 2nd, 2015 at 5:54 PM ^
What kind of coach cares if the public takes praise seriously? It's called coachspeak... Also #amaizing news is really not high praise its just a hashtag he uses for a commit. Its about the Maize. Cause its Michigan. You know cause Maize n Blue.... Maizen. Amazin....

I'm sure Jay Harbaugh is worried about whether you think his Tweets are credible or not.
February 2nd, 2015 at 4:55 PM ^
I'm sure he's not. But since that wasn't what I said, I guess it's a moot point.

Would you prefer this?
"Buckle up, but don't get tooo excited... buckle loosely like you would for a 2-star... Hopefully better (really aMAIZING) news tomorrow. #GoodWithTheBad"
February 2nd, 2015 at 4:57 PM ^
Certainly not with recruits and their families. Maybe he losses credibility with fans that want to only be notified when a blue chip recruit is landed, but other than than I see NO downside to a coach getting excited about a new player pledging to Michigan. The downside only seems to be with a group that could probably use a reality check anyway.
February 2nd, 2015 at 5:19 PM ^
How do you know he's even talking about recruiting? Maybe he just found out mom got home from the grocery store and bought
February 2nd, 2015 at 5:55 PM ^
My mom actually got this for me for christmas.

Why would you put a "ceiling" on a recruit who doesn't have enough "stars" for you? Do you think Jim Harbaugh will be thinking about how many stars a player had when he was recruited when practice starts?

February 2nd, 2015 at 3:50 PM ^
I swear... we need a Hello post soon. I can't buckle up any more
February 2nd, 2015 at 4:35 PM ^
I'll bet that seat belt smells as refreshing as my fresh linen dryer sheets.
February 2nd, 2015 at 4:03 PM ^
He should have different levels of AMAIZING... More Z's the better. Something discrete. Lol.

Yeah. I'll wait till we hear before passing judgement on the use of amazing. I really hope this is about one of our top targets and not a preferred walk on.
February 2nd, 2015 at 3:53 PM ^
Im kinda scratching my head here... All the "news" has been overwhelmingly negative. Here's to hoping it's all wrong. Who knows though. Certainly in for some excitement.

Jay has tweeted #Amaizing right before at least two previous commits. It's his bat signal.

a visit who did not have a commitable offer and even more odd is why there was any miscomunication about it. If the offer was contingent on some one else that should have been made clear before the kid even came on the visit.
February 2nd, 2015 at 4:46 PM ^
The recruiting time table is running short. If we miss on some of our preferred options, we'll need to fill with plan Bs and Cs. It's not highly probably that a person from Cali (or many other places) would commit to UM without having visited first. So you extend non-commitable offers (or conditional offers) to a few folks and get them to make the visit just in case.
February 2nd, 2015 at 6:24 PM ^
knows that going in, which it sounds like, he didn't.

February 2nd, 2015 at 4:52 PM ^
I don't know if anyone really has the details on this...so its hard to say what should have happened. But yeah, IF you bring a kid in on an official visit I don't think it should be with strings attached. I would think doing that kind of thing could get you into deep trouble with the kids school going forward...and I'm sure JH knows this.

Even though given history on these forums, "surprised" might not be the best word to describe it. Maybe just dissapointed by everyone's negativity.
February 2nd, 2015 at 4:03 PM ^
We still aren't used to having good things
February 2nd, 2015 at 4:12 PM ^
From what I saw of the Super Bowl last night, coaches can develop a lot of talent so called experts rank low or not at all. I think folks need to chill and be happy the coaches are finding kids they're excited to develop and plug into their schemes. Stars just mean a player was good in high school, not a star college player.
