Chad Lindsay To OSU
A much-needed boost to Michigan's offensive line is apparently headed to the worst possible place:
Alabama transfer Chad Lindsay is expected to sign with Ohio State, per source. Buckeyes get new center for Braxton Miller

Well played, Urban.
Running around in a circle is a little over the top, but only a little. That Lindsay rejected his former OC and an almost certain starting spot is alarming, and now Michigan enters next year with zero senior scholarship OL.
So...you're saying he's NOT on the 27 for 27 list?
Putting a dude that was only rumored to be interested in Michigan on the 27 tickets list (and at 18 mind you) was either the dumbest or saddest thing this glorious site has ever done. Perhaps both.
He has one year left of college football and probably no pro career. So given his potential last season of football, he could
- Go to Ohio. Compete for a national title on super offense
- Go to Michigan. Hope to win 8 games amongst fairly incompetant O-linemates
It is as simple as this.
Its honestly rediculous that in year 4, we are craving an o-line that does not get blown back and that can produce runs for positive yardage.. Looking at our roster and our coaches track record over the past two years, I am seriously concerned that 2013 is not rock bottom for the o-line.
I have a gut feeling we will be worse in 2014 (For god sakes we lose 2 NFL lineman)
This is on top of our Hoke's inability to win on the road (like.. at all) and the fact we havent played in one damn big ten title game
Frustration is warranted...and I think its ok if we vent a little after this afternoon
I've now put all of my eggs into the Ewing Theory of offensive line ineptitude. Hopefully Lewan was such a d-bag that all of the OLinemen will be much better now that he's gone. Like a bunch of single guys out having fun and feeling invincible now that their nagging ex-wife is finally out of their lives.
The alternative line of thinking is too depressing.
I'm officially calling this "pulling a Silas Redd".
Definition - Transferring to a school with an asshat head coach because of the perception of a chance to "win championships".
And all you people trying to mitigate this situation sound like Spartans (without all the success of that program over the last 6 years to back it up).
Weird that you picked 6 years, considering they were pretty mediocre for at least 4 of them.
Ohio's bagmen are clearly playing better than ours.
Have to agree with this. The only things that have gotten me excited this offseason were 1) Borges out, Nuss in, and 2) Freddy Canteen hype. The rest of the spring "news" has been depressing, O line and QBs sucked in spring, Lindsey going elsewhere, JMFR playing in the middle, etc. injuries to the one guy who can play tackle, etc.
Welp circle the wagons boys, hit it hard this summer in the weight room and lets go! No use of crying over spilled milk
their "graduate programs" even Bama grads.
Is he enrolling into their joing MBD-PHD program?
I know this sucks to lose a guy some people had penciled in already, but it's not like he's going to be a backup at OSU. OSU is the better program right now, and so it behooves UM to stop waiting for other teams to come back to them and instead catch the f' up to everyone else.
Sucks but we will have to play with who we got.
Not sucks that we have to play our guys
Just wanted to clarify that.
I guess we just didn't execute...........
It would have been nice to get him, but he's one guy who started four games last year. Michigan wasn't going to rise and isn't going to fall due to this one player.
Yes, we would all take him. But that doesn't mean we need to act like babies when he doesn't come. This is hardly earth shattering news.
90% of this is due to Brian putting him on the imaginary 2-deep before he even stepped foot on campus. People would be mad but when our Wise and Powerful Leader is wrong, it throws everyone off.
None of these things on their own were earth-shattering. But the general direction of the program is, and that's repeatedly reflected in each of these non-earth-shattering events.

Where do you go to watch F-ball games in Dayton? I feel lost here in this trash city!
but this guy...this guy isn't going to Columbus without wings on his helmet. Suck it Urban!
that Bielfelt will have to step up his game next year
/we are a basketball school
Chad Lindsay drama is just a smokescreen.
The real problem is: Why can't Hoke and his staff develop a decent OL? They had 2 straight years of top 5 recruiting classes at OL in 11 and 12. Where is that talent now? Why has it not developed? That is on the coaches. Period.
does Brady Hoke have two years.
We get too tied up on trying to connect the dots too early. See this in recruiting all the time that a recruit is from the south but has family Michigan - maybe he only visits Michigan in the winter and hates the cold, maybe the recruit can't stand his cousin up there, or whatever. Just because there is a relationship or tie to a person or place is only a small part of the equation.
the buckeyes lost a lot on the offense and are not going to be as potent as last year even with Lindsey. Their running game won't be what it was and we know that Miller is a mediocre passer at best. We didn't get a backup guy that might have added some depth, its not the end of the world. Clearly the player wants a shot at the pros and thinks he can get showcased more at OSU particularly with Miller getting preseason buzz for the Heisman. Muchado about nothing.

I think this may be the earliest football panic I have ever seen. Well played MGoBlog! Serioulsy, we didn't get out of April without people calling for Hoke's head b/c a kid with one year to play went to a team that missed the NCG by one game. Huh?
This is not going to be a banner year, with or without him. In 2015 it will be good to have a line than had played together without breaking in a new center.
Michigan pursued him for a reason- we need help on the OLine.
Of all places...if not UM, why couldn't he have gone to Southwest Northeast Missouri State.
FUCK. FUCK. FUCK. FUCK. FUCK!!!
