9 weeks 5 days ago	The team may be able to go on	The team may be able to go on a run because the rest of the field is not necessarily built like the Big Ten. The Big Ten is tough and massive. Pac-12, SEC, and BIG-12 teams dont seem to be as big or tough (based on my casual basketball fanship)  That being said, we will continue to suck ass in the Big Ten as long as Coach B deems it necessary to field teams with a 6'8 - 5 and 6'6 -  4 One of the HUUUUUUGEEE reasons we suck terribly at defense is because we are fucking tiny and get bullied around. Compounded with a seeming lack of fight...well we have one hell of a defensive unit. Coach B is a great coach, no doubt..but he is fielding some Rich Rod esque teams terms of size and physicality.

11 weeks 6 days ago	I was just about to make this	I was just about to make this point. The problem with the defense is not one question of athletic ability but mental awareness. This team has no fucking clue how to play team defense and how to anticipate the next pass. We slide way too late and are softer than ice cream when someone tries to put a body on us...our half court d is fucking horrible and the only thing that will make it better is pain and time and more pain.
12 weeks 1 hour ago	We probably wont see a team	We probably wont see a team this talented for 25 years and that sucks because you just dont get this opportunity too often (Legit POY candidate with a solid & complementing rotation) The main issue with his team is its lacks basketball leadership. Trey is not a leader. I Don't care if I get negged to oblivion but he's not. There is no such thing as leading by example..thats a cop out bull shit line for "hes just better than his other teamates and so I guess he is a leader" Trey is great, but a leader he is not. Players who lead by example (Tim and Trey) cant lead young players into battle. Never have been able to, never will be. If anyone disagrees..you likely havent played high level competitve sports with solid leadership. This team needs an on-the-court leader like Novak who can inspire the team and manipulate its emotions, its ethos. Many of you may be calling bullshit and point to Kentucky as a team that lacked veteran leadership presence as a counter agruement. That would be true but Kentucky had John Cap. who is perhaps one of the best leaders of young men that the College game has to offer. You may think he is a slime ball, but his players love him and his ability to manipulate the ethos of his team is umatched. ( I think we now all can see how big of a deal last years Kentucky team actually was) JB on the other hand appears average at best....Beilin has the demenour of a professor not a general. We need a general and until we get one...we will lose games like this EDIT: This was not a fire JB rant..JB can succeed with much better player leadership

I think  the OP summed up one of the biggest "Fan's Follys" that exists in sports and is something that I need to personally work on. Great althetes of all sports typically experience greater sorrow from losing than joy from winning. It is the fear of failure, and the pain associated it, that has propelled many of the great athletes / teams to championships and success. Great teams dont take joy in winning, they expect to win. Winning is normal, losing is not. As fans though we cant embrace this mentality as our own because it leads to ever pervasive sadness in sports....especially considering you are relying on the unreliable (18-22 year old young men) to bring you happyness. The point of being a fan is to be entertained and to have fun. Not to morph into a Meizer whos emotional spikes during the course of a game cause someone around you to think that Dr. Jakel and Mr. Hyde actually exists. Hope the fan base, myself included, can do a better job of this..especially in football
