Mike Hart missing? [Ed: Family Commitment]
[Ed-- Hart had a family commitment. Let's cut off speculation. -seth]
I watched the Big Ten coverage and when they introduced all the staff, everyone was announced and at the event other than Mike Hart. Any clue as to where he went, is he interviewing? Also I heard Blake Corum, damn he would be a great motivator and coach one day, no wonder he’s been such a leader for this program last few years.

He gone

NOOOOOOOOO

Honestly, Mike getting experience as an OC at another program would be great, LONG TERM, for Michigan. Especially as we bask in the National Championship glory.
Get some great experience, work out the kinks, and years later you can come back to Michigan as an even better coach.

I think the fact that we're all worried about losing our staff to other teams is wonderful.
It means the culture and staff that has been built here is so great that others recognize it too and want to poach our coaches. This is a great problem to have, great coaches will always be in demand and we will need to replace them at some point.
We cannot and will not keep our staff intact every year, and if it's because they're moving on to bigger opportunities then I wish them the best of luck and trust the foundation that Harbaugh has built will continue to find great replacements.

Mike is good friends with Kalen DeBoer, maybe going to Bama to be OC? Still seems strange he wouldn't be at this event given all his history here.
January 13th, 2024 at 9:40 PM ^
With all respect to Mike, I think Alabama fans would collectively explode if their new OC was the Michigan RB coach, even if he also has "run game coordinator" in his title. But, I can see him down there with a similar job description to what he has now.
January 13th, 2024 at 11:58 PM ^
The only way he takes a lateralish move elsewhere is if the new regime doesn’t keep him on or if he doesn’t like the new regime.
I’m sure he would take a hard look at any OC offers he gets though
January 14th, 2024 at 3:21 AM ^
Kaleb DeBoer is reportedly taking his OC from Washington. Don’t know how true that is but that’s the only thing I’ve heard about it
January 14th, 2024 at 11:42 AM ^
That seems likely since UW isn't promoting him to the top job:
UW's AD:
We have one of the best head-coaching jobs in all of college football. Our search for a new head coach is underway, and I am excited about what comes next for Husky football.
Now the cupboard will be absolutely bare.

Thanks Derek!

He's representing Harbaugh in job interviews.
January 13th, 2024 at 9:34 PM ^
i just can't imagine blake doing that boston accent.

Retaiiiiiner

Chargers Management: Jim, our offer starts you at $12,000,000 a year, plus benefits.
Mike Hart: Allegedly, your situation - for you - would be concurrently improved if I had $200 in my back pocket right now.

Could see Hart moving onto an OC position with Moore in front of him. This bodes will for Harbaugh staying if that's the case.
January 13th, 2024 at 10:56 PM ^
So you're advocating first time head coach be paired with 1st time OC? I would think Moore would want experience seeing how he has none unless he does what Harbaugh did/does and calls plays himself or by committee.
January 13th, 2024 at 11:01 PM ^
I'd prefer Campbell to be the OC/QB Coach if Jim leaves, I just hope Jim stays.
If Jim leaves, I sure hope he doesn't take Herbert with him.
January 13th, 2024 at 11:28 PM ^
I think he was saying with Moore ahead if him as OC at M, he would move elsewhere rather than stay “blocked”. Read it again!
January 13th, 2024 at 9:35 PM ^
Angelique said he had a family commitment.
January 13th, 2024 at 9:37 PM ^
This is better than him looking at Bama...
January 13th, 2024 at 11:17 PM ^
Everyone needs to chill out, he had a family commitment and he is in line to be the next OC if Jim leaves and Sherrone is HC.....jesus people, enjoy the best team in 120 yrs and take that BPONE shit and flush it!
Those Who Stay Will Be Champions!
January 13th, 2024 at 11:25 PM ^
Why does everyone NEED to chill out...because you say so?
January 13th, 2024 at 11:29 PM ^
No. Because **I** say so!
January 14th, 2024 at 12:32 AM ^
No, because we're National Champions.
January 13th, 2024 at 11:26 PM ^
Well so much for unreasonably fretting about the future...
January 14th, 2024 at 2:23 AM ^
What Angelique said is a blanket statement for having something better to do. He either did it he didn't but what Angelique said doesn't make me more to assume it's nothing.
January 14th, 2024 at 8:51 AM ^
I can’t imagine him missing this even if he had a head coaching gig lined up tomorrow. Family commitments come first
January 14th, 2024 at 10:06 AM ^
That’s what I told my colleagues the last time I interviewed for a new job
January 14th, 2024 at 10:06 AM ^
These players and coaches just went through a crazy long season sacrificing holidays and time with family since august...its not that crazy that a lot of them would say thanks but no thanks my family needs me before I start it all over again.
January 13th, 2024 at 9:37 PM ^
Would not be surprised to see Mike Hart at Alabama. He went on and on about all his close friends on UW staff, DeBoer, as well as his best friend; Nick Sheridan.
Or, less likely, he’s interviewing for Washington job, or a place on that staff
January 13th, 2024 at 9:54 PM ^
Am fucking tired of DeBoer poaching Michigan people. Courtney Morgan being another.
January 13th, 2024 at 10:36 PM ^
Didn't poach that W
January 14th, 2024 at 7:37 AM ^
He did not poach Morgan...Harbaugh pushed Morgan out. It's well known that he didn't get along with some of our other coaches when it came to recruiting.
They had poor chemistry.
January 14th, 2024 at 10:06 AM ^
We poached a trophy from him so we even …
January 13th, 2024 at 9:41 PM ^
There are many possible reasons for why he wasn't there. I doubt any of them are him ghosting the team for a Saturday job interview.
January 13th, 2024 at 9:45 PM ^
Another theory shot down lol
January 13th, 2024 at 9:51 PM ^
I didn't see Santa Ono or Don Yee either ...
January 13th, 2024 at 10:13 PM ^
Oh my god do you think Santa will be the new DC for Bama?
January 13th, 2024 at 10:28 PM ^
I thought Warde Manuel pointed him out? I didn't see him myself but I assumed he was sitting there somewhere?
January 13th, 2024 at 11:23 PM ^
Santa was busy delivering gifts to all the good boys and girls on his sleigh
January 14th, 2024 at 2:54 AM ^
And ashes to Bama and Washington.
January 14th, 2024 at 7:07 AM ^
And coals to Newcastle.
January 14th, 2024 at 10:37 AM ^
I already got the gift I wanted.
January 13th, 2024 at 9:52 PM ^
Where was shoelace?
January 13th, 2024 at 11:24 PM ^
Good point, didn't see him there either. My all time favorite. Hope he's here forever too.
January 13th, 2024 at 10:04 PM ^
There were a lot of players not in attendance. Like Roman, which I was surprised by
January 13th, 2024 at 10:12 PM ^
Pretty sure I saw Roman there
January 13th, 2024 at 10:19 PM ^
You didn’t. He’s training is what I heard.
January 13th, 2024 at 11:28 PM ^
They announced Roman in the players line, right after Jake Thaw
