Dont mess with Falconry dude…

Dont mess with Falconry dude, its the shit!

-There is definitely…

-There is definitely tailgating in the parking lots before the games, get a parking pass in advance, they are not cheap $50-100 at least, probably more for the playoffs.  If you bring some beer, snacks, you can meet people having tailgate parties and they are receptive to more people, just don't be an a-hole fan (ie. Raiderzzzz! loud) and you will be received well.

-Getting out after the game is a nightmare....so i would avoid it unless you are cool with waiting 90 mins post game to get into the traffic mess

-Coming from Pacifica, best way down is 280 south to 880/17 north towards SanJose/Oakland, get off at 1st street (about 5 miles from 880/17) and take a left on first street.  after about 10 blocks, there is an Matrix casino near 1st street and highway 101. Its on your left. Park at Matrix lot, its free and they won't hassle you and they patrol the lot.  The VTA tram station runs along 1st street.  Take VTA to the stadium, it will take you about 15 mins from there to get to the stadium.  After the game VTA back to your car and you will be out of the mess to drive home.

-Watching the AFC game beforehand is a bit more complicated, you can find restaurant bars in the area, but its not set up too well to get to Levis from any of them.  So i would go to the tailgating area early, make some friends with a TV and people will be showing the game there.

-If you don't mind walking 1.8 miles from my company office to Levi's, it takes about 30 mins, that is an option as well. If you are interested, text me (Michael 408-202-2405) and i will have your license plate number registered as my customer guest and you can park in my company's parking lot.  This is how i always go to the games. I like the walk and post game its a nice walk past all the car gridlock. Then its an easy drive back to the hwy away from the stadium traffic to head back up to Pacifica.

Go Lions!  Should be a helluva game!

Everyone needs to chill out,…

Everyone needs to chill out, he had a family commitment and he is in line to be the next OC if Jim leaves and Sherrone is HC.....jesus people, enjoy the best team in 120 yrs and take that BPONE shit and flush it!

Those Who Stay Will Be Champions!

Thanks for doing this…

Thanks for doing this summary, its a ton of work!  I would like to point out that the lowest scores on the season from UDub should be considered outliers. I was at 2 of those games and watched the 3rd on TV, as my son Yost is a senior at the business school there.  The weather in the ASU, WSU and OreSt games was abysmal.  The ASU game the wind was swirling 20-30MPH from left to right and then vice versa, literally impossible to throw the ball consistently.  Same with OreSt game which was a constant cold rain downpour.  WSU was a mix per my son, but i watched that on TV...

One thing to note was that UDub's D was run all over by ASU in that game, they could not stop the QB scrambles, read option or quick hitting RB dives between the tackles.  If not for a huge length of the field pick 6 late in the fourth qtr, they would have lost that game and deserved to... This bodes really well for M.  Though their rush D has improved considerably since that game, they are still vulnerable there.

Key thing is M needs to get a lead on them and get into Boa mode to force the issue and pressure they will feel to not get 2 scores down. But they do have the team to comeback from a 3 score deficit. Seeing both MHJ and Odunze in person this season, i think Odunze is a better receiver...i know the pundits dont agree with me, but Odunze is better at getting separation when the ball is in the air, he is amazing.... This is going to be a really good game.  If Dillon Johnson can't go, i think M wins by 8-10 pts, if he plays effectively, its going to come down to the last 8 mins of the game and who wants it more and can make a critical play or two!  If M wins the turnover battle, they should win this one going away....

See you in Houston! Go Blue!

Thanks for sharing Seth,…

Thanks for sharing Seth, that is such wonderful news.  Here here to your son's health, for he's a jolly good fellow!  Just sent an Amazon gift card to the cause, this IS the Michigan Difference.

Happy Holidays!

Actually, that is not what…

Actually, that is not what Bo said. I was in the room as a student trainer in 1986 after Ricky Foggee and the gophers upset us on a last second fg by chip lohmiller 20-17.

in the team mtg at the start of the week, Bo said Harbaugh shot off his mouth after the game and everyone one of you has to have his back and win this goddamn game…..

Go blue! The rest is history and jamie morris scoring i  the second half in the horseshoe!

i will be there on saturday to watch it happen again!

TRO hearing is Friday, if ruled in M's favor, Harbaugh will be free to coach both Maryland and The Game.....

Thanks Doc! And my college aged son  at UDub started unplugging last summer before his senior year of college.  Its amazing how much better he is now mentally. His daily routine, outlook is refreshing!

i know Jim from growing up with him in a2 and i can guarantee he is in fort schembechler mode. All outside l noise is exactly that…. This stuff is fueling this team and they will just continue to open a can of whoop ass on each opponent until the season is over.

cant wait for The Game on thanksgiving weekend!

This is awesome.  Glad to…

This is awesome.  Glad to see Mike coming home!  I was a student trainer from '82-'86 and he was such a stud linebacker. Undersized, but you can't measure the heart of a man...he was a tackling machine!  His intensity was unmatched on game day, before every game in the locker room, you would hear a guy puking his brains out in the stall and it was always Mike Mallory (it was loud, everyone heard it). We had to put a hydration plan in place for him before every kick off so he was ready to roll.

Watching this sludgefart of a game is almost entertaining....who's gonna blow it late in the 4th, Fitz or Frost's Mom?!? :-)

OA- this is excellent…

OA- this is excellent.... sorry for the sidebar, cool story bro, but I was a ski bum in Aspen many moons ago after graduating from Michigan.  One of my good friends was Madyn Gwynne, she is Fred Gwynne's daughter, your judge above...  As the old farts probably know, he was famous for being Herman Munster...but he was revered in NYC as a terrific stage actor on Broadway.  I visited her several times at their flat in NYC and he was always so gracious, friendly and a story teller (tall as hell).  I remembering asking him how he decided on certain roles as his daughter had told me about his Broadway work, but I only knew him as Herman Munster.... first, he said, you are an actor, so you take the work and make the best of it...but then he said, as you have a bit of success, its fun to take chances or take roles that people would never expect you to perform. He told me he had a new role in a film coming up that no one would expect him to take.... but he would not tell me the name of the movie.   Yeah, that movie...My Cousin Vinny, he was awesome in it as a southern judge and he had a strong NY accent, you sure as hell wouldn't have known it.....

StephenJ- you’ve nailed it…

StephenJ- you’ve nailed it with your analysis. I am on a group text with former players, fraternity brothers that played with Harbaugh. I was a student trainer with the team from 1982-86 and grew up in Ann arbor and played football and baseball against Harbs until he moved to Palo Alto.  The general consensus is that he cant be the CEO and delegate, he is obsessed with tinkering with Gattis’s gameplan and it kills us every game.

Unfortunately he has had 2 episodes with his health and had heart procedures.  Hey we are all in our mid 50’s and many have a few health issues here and there.  Be he is Jim Fucking Harbaugh and I am an anonymous VP of Sales in Silicon Valley, so it can slide for me, but i cannot for him.  Its life, but he is the not the same person and my friends and associates alll agree that its time for him to rest and recover.  This game is a fulltime 24/7 shit show and it gets worse every year.  Need to go younger and support the hell out of them. They will need it.

i was happy to see Cade play so well tonight, but to sit there and watch us squeak out a Rutger victory was troubling.  I am proud the team persevered tonight.  At the end of the day, not giving up is what sports are all about.

Let’s see.  When it came out…

Let’s see.  When it came out, i was graduating from the University of Michigan in about a week.  I had secured a job, great, but was moving from A2 to a training center in Virginia and then on to Chicago, Boston or Silicon Valley.  My gf from M was going into the Peace Corps.  So who the hell knew how my life would change and turn out.  This film spoke volumes to me and i really didnt care about the melodramatic acting and strory lines, this was my upcoming life in a nutshell.  It scared me and reassured me at the same time.

say what you willl but it left a lasting impression on me and i still think of it to this day as a 55 year old.  I ended up having friends that experienced eerily similar life events post graduation. Amd i am happy to report that it worked out well for me and my gf in the end.  We got back together after peace corps and our daughter graduated from M this spring and our son Yost, from high school.  Silicon Valley has been very good to us.

This guy made some great movies

Thanks Blue.

Thanks Blue.

My son just finished his…

My son just finished his high school career as QB. To brag a bit, he won a NorCal CCS II title, was a team MVP and won first team all league CCS honors. He has D2/3 offers but wants to go to large D1 school for college, and hasn't decided if he is going to try and walk on once he chooses where to go. Luckily he's a very good student, so he will have some nice options.

On the camps front, the big school camps are fun, but a waste of time for QB development IMO. He got much better instruction from QB academy camps (like NFA QB Academy, he attended a couple of those). He had a QB coach for his team and head coach that was a QB, but the other academies will expose him to different technique tweaks in arm position and throwing motion, release and footwork.  It also helped him as he started as a pro style offense under center his first 2 years and then last 2 years they migrated to shot gun/spread look.  The QB camps worked on all different styles of offense, so when they changed, he was already repped and prepared for the transition.

Just another set up eyes with differing QB technique opinions helped him decide what was best for him. He was a very efficient QB his senior year and it definitely helped his team win a title.  The other thing that was beneficial was a QB coach in NorCal held Sunday camps with local QBs and their team WR's. He got tons of reps throwing to his 2 top WR's in the spring/summer with a lot of work spent looking off coverages.  Anything you can do to get your son in these type of environments will be beneficial to his growth and development.

Good luck!

Wow, this is shocking to me…

Wow, this is shocking to me and very sad news. I worked with Doc A from 1982 to 1986 when i was a student trainer for the football team and never witnessed anything of the sort in his follow up appointments with players recovering from injuries or sickness.  I was also treated by him when  i was sick several times and also recovering from a broken bone in my hand, and never any issues. Truly sad news if true and I feel for the victims.

Re-read your original post…

Re-read your original post douchebag....my response was to your piece of shit comments, plain and simple...."Heal the fuck up?" Come on.....you know it, everyone on this blog knows it, it was a piss poor comment about a hard working player on the team.

You are so clueless, try and…

You are so clueless, try and play football on a high ankle sprain and let's see how you do!  These guys give their damn blood, sweat and tears for the program, their teammates, family and friends. And this is all you got?  Grow the fuck up and be a fan and respect these kids.

I spent 4 years in Michigan locker room when i was a student trainer, you have no fucking clue how much these guys endure and play through...they deserve our support and respect. Not this crap...

“what the mind can conceive…

“what the mind can conceive and believe, the body can achieve, and those that stay will be champions!”  Bo had this painted on one of the mtg room walls circa 1983

”nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press on! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. “  calvin coolidge

I am usually civil

But you are a fucking idiot, plain and simple. I worked for bo for 3 years, you have no fucking idea what you are talking about. Ethics, drive, stamina, compassion and he only cared about shaping boys into good men. We need more of that these days and less of “he only won 84% of his games and no nat’l championship”. I have a feeling you have never coached or been a team leader....stick to watching sports and commenting less, our fan base will be better off for it.

Hey, don't let facts get in the way of a good

espn.com bash job on Harbaugh about how he is overrated for fucking click bait!  I think the next 5 yrs we are going to see vintage Harbaugh where we compete for B1G championships and Playoff bids every year and its gonna come down to one game and a few plays each year if we are in or out.....  This is gonna be a fun ride for sure!

Still amazing you took the time to do this...

I am biased, i was a student trainer during the '85 season and '82-'86, so i witnessed the injury riddled '84 season (was the first one on the field to tend to Harbaugh's broken humerus in the State game...my Mom, while sad that Harbaugh was hurt, was quick to call me that night to tell me she saw me on TV, so at least she knew my work study job was legit....).  But I digress...to see the passion and conviction of THAT team in '85, man redemption was an understatement...from 2 a days on that team was pissed and was gonna take no prisoners....that last minute FG in Iowa City was painful and we laid an egg in Champaign with turnovers in their red zone, but luckly Dieter Heren blocked a last minute FG attempt to save the tie.

The '85 season was eerily reminiscent of our season last year....a few bounces differently and Bo wins his first national championship....

Great work and analysis

But regardless of your numerical assessments, the eye test has to come into play....there is no way the 1985 team with that defense (3 straight shutouts during the season), a 10-1-1 record and a victory over Nebraska in the Fiesta bowl is not one of the top 10 seasons in M history over the past 49...

Here is the wikipdedia post:

The 1985 Michigan Wolverines football team represented the University of Michigan in the 1985 Big Ten Conference football season. In their 17th year under head coach was Bo Schembechler, the Wolverines compiled a 10–1–1 record, outscored all opponents by a combined total of 342 to 98,[1] defeated five ranked opponents (including three in a row to start the season), suffered its sole loss against Iowa in a game matching the #1 and #2 teams in the AP Poll, defeated Nebraska in the 1986 Fiesta Bowl, and were ranked #2 in the final AP and Coaches Polls.[1][2]

Go Blue!  Those Who Stay Will Be Champions....

Gary hold...

The play when Gary had Minny's QB dead to rights and his jersey was blatantly grabbed so he could not make the tackle was the topper.  I think it was in the 2nd qtr. The QB gets outside of contain and they get the 1st down.  It was totally obvious and we don't get the call.  I want to believe that mistakes happen.  I  want to believe that sometimes the refs let calls pass, but this is simply not the case any more.  We have to win on the field and win with the refs now to get over the hump.  Disgusting.

I watched MSU get away with at least 4 holds today on Offense and nothing called. The pass INT on PSU as well.  Good ole Spartan Bob officiating crew.  I don't care if the refs suck, we just need them to be consistent and they simply are not that....

It literally is hard to watch

How the hell does Metellus get ejected with that ass clown #73 from ski u mah?!?  Off setting penalties in that situation after he smacked Kinnel in the head with a punch?  We thought it was just a slight in the OSU game last year.  Its simply not acceptable now that I can watch IU's HC lose his shit on every call today and not get a single sideline infraction.....Urban cryer run on the field over and over today and not a single call...if Harbaugh steps one foot on the field we all know he's gonna get the death penalty.   This shit is annoying as hell.....

Playoff schedule?

Thanks for the updates Carcajou....do you know the playoff schedules in November? I have to head to Japan for a business trip in November and want to try and catch one of their games...

Uhh, not so fast...

Rocky Long's Aztec's took it to Stanford last Saturday night.  Stanford has their issues...but AF will have their hands full and I expect San Diego State is going to win this one....they are a legit team to make a New Year's bowl game as the non power 5 representative....

In 1997, the general consensus

was that the team was one year away from winning it all.

THanks Doclosh....

Great to have an eyewitness recollection....i obviously flipped Jolley and Zuver in that game!

Thanks for the correction...

The old memory banks aren't quite as sharp after 40 years....Jolly sticks out in my head, didn't he have an interception in the '76 game?

31-13 Meeechigan!

M wins....

That's the way Bo did it when Harbaugh was playing...

I was a student trainer at the time and it did build freshman group comraderie before they graduated to the varsity locker room their sophomore year.  I think its a great idea to develop pride with their respective incoming class.  And it was a bit intimidating initially to go into the varstiy locker room when I was a freshman...

Go to bed and stop being a troll !!

After that miracle, we smoked you consistently in every game we played CU since...this year will be no different.  Congrats on your baby's birth, but  you are in no way a Michigan fan.  Stick to your CU "High Hoof" crap and spend your time on their blogs, wear their gear and enjoy the beers they serve at Folsom Field....if they even have one (blogs, that is).  All my CU friends are totally over the fact that their alma mater is a trash fire for the rest of eternity. (Or until they go back to the Big8....)

Have brain scans done, be diligent

My son just started high school freshman summer training camp in Northern California.  Being a former trainer at UofM in the 80s, I have seen the effects first hand, especially when i see former players at reunions now and how much better I am compared to what they endured.  But CFB is a totally different ballgame than HS football.  My son has been a hockey and lacrosse goalie for many years with no concussion or injury problems, outside of of some minor things like patellar tendonitis.  He's had worse injuries in pick up basketball.  But still the concussion issue is big concern of mine and my wife who is a doctor.

The local high school here has every player have brain scans done and also we had a CT baseline taken as well (sorry i am not the doctor, but my son stayed up all night and then goes to clinic, has probes attached to his head and takes a series of tests to monitor his brain functions/response times/reactions, etc...)

So now we have a baseline, we made a deal with my son, if he gets one concussion and the doctor says there is any impact whatsoever, he is done with the sport.  He wants to play badly, so that's the deal.  Now i have to be diligent about making sure he is not covering anything up on the injury front.  He has a legit shot to a QB, so i think its going to be a bit easier for me to track him if he gets dinged. Playing other positions is not as easy to track and they have much more head contact during practice.

I still believe football is one of the best team sports invented and think that there are major benefits for my son to learn and experience by playing the game.

There is no apples to apples comparison

THink about Carr's last bowl game in the Citrus Bowl....i was there and saw how the FLA fans said we had no chance, ESPN fan poll had "90%" of America picking FLA to beat us in the citrus bowl...and then we proceeded to kick their ass....if not for Hart's 3 fumbles in the red zone this was a 60+ to 30 ass kicking vs a 2 score win for Michigan.

Each game is unto itself and there is no transitive theory in CFB.  This would explain why M could kick the living shit out of every team in 1986 and lose to Ricky Foggie and Minnesota on Senior day....everyone said M had no chance against Mr righteous, Mr perfect heisman winner and we ran his ass all day and he cracked....M got healthy and with a killer LT, Henne back, Hart back, Mario and Arrington, we took it to 'em...

If we beat OSU in the Cesspool in '06, i truly believe the National Championship game comes down to the wire, no matter who we played....

21-20 taken...will go with 22-21...

Mike Jolly with the fake extra point to make it 15-0 circa 1976....OSU comes back, takes the lead 21-15 and M scores the goal ahead TD in the last minute...Jake passes them down the field and JP scores the TD from the Wolverine formation!

21-20

21-20, Fightin' Harbaughs!

Thanks for all the great suggestions MGoFaithful!

My wife just landed from San Fran, she went to Tulane for grad school, so we are headed to Frenchman street now for some killer live music,....looking forward to some more merriment on Saturday.... I'll send out the post game review on Sunday!

Dude, let it go...

You should take the high road from now on...don't respond and leave it at that....any response makes you look like a douchebag....right or wrong, take the high road, at this point in M Go Blog history, you should have figured it out by now....

Jimmy Harbs or bust.....and yes, i grew up with him and got killed by him in baseball and football for many years...us River Rats were very happy to see him move to palo alto!

This is one we should win by 10-17 pts

A win is a win and we don't know who is going to play (ie Funchess). But if we can't beat a bottom half Pac12 team at home, i am done with this head coach.  My ND hangover has finally ended, but we didn't see improvement from this team until the 2nd half last wk vs Miami, a truly dreadful football team.  Let's get this one behind us and chalk up ND as an anomaly and hope we can continue to improve each week and compete for B10 championship.

If we lose this one, Hoke is done.  I actually don't want that to happen, as he is building a real program again from the bottom's up.  But if he can't beat teams like this at home, we need a head coaching upgrade.

Go Blue!

Though we know it shoulda been 3 in a row....

Why oh why couldn't we have run that Copper Bowl 2 point conversion vs Ohio....what coulda been.  Thank goodness 2013 is o-vah!!!!

Why they don't have a Wildcat pkg with Denard and MJD

is beyond me...just for a change of pace at least...less opptys for the pass pro to not break down and result in sacks and INTS...the other team would actually have to prepare for it as well...what a waste of a real talent in Denard...

We were a #6 seed in1989
