SIAP: OSU Schadenfreude - Tony Gerdeman goes full whiny emo
He gets a lot of praise around here for his Michigan Monday column, but this time, I think we need to make sure he's not hurting himself. The entire thing reads like a comment from my 6 year old son to his older sister after she beats him up for being annoying.

What a bitch. Can we never post these again?
November 27th, 2023 at 4:18 PM ^
Hey, guys! It's Monday. A writer for another team writes about Michigan and the columns appear on Mondays. They're called "Michigan Monday." In case you're dim and have never heard of bookmarks (https://buckeyehuddle.com/tag/michigan-monday/), I'll create a post every Monday just in case you've forgotten it's Monday. They may displace something interesting.
November 27th, 2023 at 6:08 PM ^
I actually liked reading this - he's admitting a lot here and (mostly) complementing his hated rival.
November 27th, 2023 at 6:46 PM ^
Those who stay will get to freely say every last thing they want to about an Ohio State team that fell 22 yards short, knowing that no comeback will suffice.
Im confused. How many points do you get for making it to the 17 yard line?
November 28th, 2023 at 2:39 AM ^
Also why is he giving Ohio State credit for the yards between where McCord threw the ball and where Moore intercepted it lol
November 27th, 2023 at 5:07 PM ^
Finkle is Einhorn!
Gerdeman is Day...
Day is Gerdeman!
They are soft - the team, the program, the fanbase. It all starts at the top, emanates from the head coach. Incredible to see a blue blood program, perhaps the most consistent of the past 25 years, and notorious for cutting corners, crying foul.
November 27th, 2023 at 6:34 PM ^
Dear Mr. Gerdeman,
November 27th, 2023 at 9:15 PM ^
Those who stay will point to this game as proof that the sign stealing over the past two years had no impact on this rivalry, while completely ignoring the differences in margins of victory.
Only a dumbass Buckeye fan would completely ignore facts like, OSU changed their signs 2 years in a row thus negating your stupid margin of victory argument.
November 27th, 2023 at 11:49 PM ^
And the argument is really about how many points the opponent is able to score on our defense - which hasn't really changed in three years. Not margin of victory.
November 27th, 2023 at 4:11 PM ^
Great representative of that demented worthless fan base … if we hairless nuts lose it’s only because of cold weather, we have the flu , our signs are stolen, the refs gave them a free TD , our coach is a pussy , etc. etc. etc.
November 27th, 2023 at 4:56 PM ^
They're broken. Plain and simple. They can't accept losing, or admit that they lost simply because they were the lesser team Saturday, and the 2 years past. They have nothing, no happiness, no smart rebuttals, no titles, no nothing.
I'll take each and every savory tear or cope or whine they're dumb enough to spew on the internet, because it is so freaking satisfying.
November 27th, 2023 at 5:27 PM ^
And that's exactly why this is gold. If you're delusional about why you're losing, you'll never figure out how to actually win.
November 27th, 2023 at 6:07 PM ^
Maybe simple but exactly right! Well said.
November 27th, 2023 at 8:06 PM ^
Those who stay might want to enjoy this as much as possible because the NCAA is eventually going to do what Ohio State couldn’t.
"MOMMY, MICHIGAN IS PICKING ON ME! MAKE THEM STOP."
November 27th, 2023 at 4:13 PM ^
"Those who stay might want to enjoy this as much as possible because the NCAA is eventually going to do what Ohio State couldn’t."
I would like to see Gerdeman's face when this fails to materialize.
November 27th, 2023 at 4:20 PM ^
There was some other nuts idiot saying he’d be laughing when our wins were vacated … there are seriously demented people in that fan base
November 27th, 2023 at 4:58 PM ^
All they have to do is ask us how much the losing team cares about vacated wins. They're bullshit. Didn't make us feel better about losing to Louisville in the title game. Didn't make us feel better about losing to those fucks in 2010. Every time a Buckeye fan cries "but but but the wins won't matter!", it makes me smile because those wins happened and they're glorious
November 27th, 2023 at 5:47 PM ^
THIS. 100%.
It is all the moment. Once the moment is gone, it doesn't matter. Vacate them all you want. We know the truth. This win cemented it. This win took any oomph from your whines.
Louisville's vacated title doesn't remove the pain of coming up just short. Nah. These wins happened, and they know it. Thus, they are in the denial stages of grief.
November 28th, 2023 at 2:20 PM ^
We are not vacating shit.
November 27th, 2023 at 4:23 PM ^
I would not like to see Gerdeman’s face as much as possible.
November 27th, 2023 at 4:25 PM ^
He’s a student of “Football Rules & Regulations for Dummies” by Tony Petitti.
November 27th, 2023 at 4:32 PM ^
"The NCAA will avenge us" gives off the same Little Brother "save us Ohio State" energy
November 27th, 2023 at 4:40 PM ^
the funniest thing is even if it did, scoreboard
November 27th, 2023 at 4:43 PM ^
I'm also very much looking forward to his disappointment on this one:
Those who stay will eventually have fans who get as tired of losing in the playoffs as Ohio State fans have.
November 27th, 2023 at 4:50 PM ^
Yeah I don’t think that’s the own he thinks it is.
November 27th, 2023 at 6:25 PM ^
I sometimes care a little too much about whether Michigan wins or loses. Buy I can say honestly that if the lose any of their next games it won't change how happy watching this particular team has made me.
November 27th, 2023 at 4:14 PM ^
That's more little bro than actual little bro!
November 27th, 2023 at 5:10 PM ^
Right, mom and dad will avenge our loss. BOOOO HOOO.
November 27th, 2023 at 5:48 PM ^
"i can get the big ten involved with this" energy...AND THE AD SAID IT OUT LOUD DURING THEGAME. Let that be the defining image of the last 3 years of OSU football.
November 27th, 2023 at 5:12 PM ^
Little step bro.
November 27th, 2023 at 5:21 PM ^
Hiring a PI firm to try to 'beat' your rival rather than, you know, actually beating your rival is the ultimate little bro move.
November 27th, 2023 at 4:15 PM ^
Delicious.
And to just make one correction... I absolutely do not care what OSU does about Day.
November 27th, 2023 at 5:24 PM ^
I certainly don’t mind him staying at OSU, or leaving. His choice. Next year, in Columbus, he’ll be under even more pressure. We saw after his game at ND game how he handles pressure.
November 27th, 2023 at 4:15 PM ^
I’ve read a LOT of his material over the years. It’s not just his Michigan stuff which has lost its snark and wit: it’s everything.
He’s not the writer he once was.
November 27th, 2023 at 5:17 PM ^
To be fair...........
It is a lot easier to be witty and full of snark when you really don't have any adversity as a program.
Brian and MGoBlog learned how to keep up the snark during the dark days of RR and late-stage Hoke/Borges!! - OSU writers are soft just like their team.
Also It would be hard to write honestly when making your living requires catering to a fanbase that goes ape-shit if anyone even suggests that MAYBE M was the better team or MAYBE these last 3 years of losses won't get vacated.
November 27th, 2023 at 5:38 PM ^
+1 for the Letterkenny intro to your post.
November 27th, 2023 at 8:08 PM ^
Meh. We're the only ones that read Michigan Monday.
November 27th, 2023 at 4:16 PM ^
Geez Gerdeman - would you like some whine with that cheese? Most of your weekly writeups are really good and I always look forward to them. This one is just you whining and still thinking Michigan cheated and it mattered. Do you think "sign-stealing" mattered when Haskins was getting the ball over and over and over without you being able to stop it? Or when Edwards went for 160 on two totes?
November 27th, 2023 at 6:48 PM ^
Their utterly spoiled fanbase cannot cope with Michigan being better than them. Ever since we won in Columbus they are all in crisis mode and none of them are handling it well. It is wild to watch a program where 9-3 is a disaster absolutely collapse into whiners because they lost to us 3 straight years
November 27th, 2023 at 4:18 PM ^
Wow, he literally went through four of the five stages of grief in a single article. I see little acceptance, but a lot of anger, bargaining, denial and depression. Lovely.
November 27th, 2023 at 4:18 PM ^
That was so funny 🤣
November 27th, 2023 at 4:18 PM ^
Sore loser. It was a great game between 2 great teams, and OSU came up a little short. Stop whining.
November 27th, 2023 at 6:18 PM ^
Hilarious that equates the closer score (in a game which they STILL LOST) as proof that the Stallions BS worked. 😂
November 27th, 2023 at 4:19 PM ^
"Those who stay will be lauded for their aggressiveness on fourth down despite attempting more field goals than Ohio State."
So...the best plan is to throw two picks instead of getting to do either one?
November 27th, 2023 at 4:26 PM ^
They definitely won the "attempt less FGs" battle...i'll hand them that.
November 27th, 2023 at 8:09 PM ^
Couldn't get close enough.
November 27th, 2023 at 4:38 PM ^
This was the turning point in the write-up, where it just nose-dived into the garbage dump of grasping at straws
November 27th, 2023 at 4:52 PM ^
Yea this has to be the dumbest of his mostly stupid statements. How is scoring more points than the other team a bad thing?
