Developing and progressing coaches, yes, absolutely. But by all accounts S&C is a more critical, respected and higher paid position at the college level. Just because it has 'NFL' in front doesn't necessarily make it better.

How in the world can 97.1 keep those two michigan hating fuckheads on the air in this market?!? Personally I've stopped listening to them because it pisses me off so much when Valente is so totally disrespectful to the school, players and fans. It's one thing to get that on a blog (totally fine), but another on the air. I really think we should all stop listening to their shit. Maybe that would force a change.
He was scheduled to speak at the Alumni Association Tailgate last night but had some kind of trouble (traffic, I think though the sound system was really bad so I didn’t hear the details) and was a last minute scratch. I was really looking forward to at least trying to hear what he had to say, so was disappointed.
Sounds like he’s staying at least somewhat engaged though, so I think that’s great.
It would be great from a football standpoint but would be awful for the B1G getting teams into the playoff it would drive more losses among the top teams.

And the argument is really about how many points the opponent is able to score on our defense - which hasn't really changed in three years. Not margin of victory.
Props for being on after that loss. Personally I'd be in blackout mode for anything football related if we'd lost that one - and sure as hell wouldn't be able to stomach going on 11W.
You obviously haven't been following this story very closely. He made $55k/year and his parents are almost certainly funding him ( primarily based on the $450k home purchase he recently made as well as circumstantial evidence his parents are loaded).

That said, I hope he and his family are fine and the reason for discontinuation is because he won the lottery and needs to spend the time counting his winnings.

Eh. Bitchy little comments, but true. Lived most of my life in Michigan except for a few years in Kansas City. It is absolutely friendlier down there. When I moved in down I had about six neighbors stop by to welcome us, and most brought cookies (or a 6 pack), it was awesome and incredibly welcoming. When we moved back to a similar new neighborhood in Michigan, not a single person came by. Of course, I don't bring cookies for any new neighbors here either, so I guess I'm where I belong.
I was struggling to recall the name of that book and was hoping someone would bring it up. It was an interesting read with a few examples really making me scratch my head, especially the part about the Beatles practically being a band of destiny based on how much time they spent playing together before they hit it big. Definitely thought the hockey birthday thing made a lot of sense though.
