| 3 weeks 1 day ago | When reading the "ceiling" |
When reading the "ceiling" category at the bottom of the topic, did anyone else read the final word (Football) in the john madden voice from Family Guy? I think I may be going a little nuts as I find myself thinking about quotes from that show on a very regular basis. I guess if this is the beginning of insanity I welcome it with open arms. It makes life more interesting. |

Did anyone else just read that in the voice of the BP spokesperson from the southpark Khtulu trilogy. While visualizing him laying naked on bearskin rug in front of a roaring fire. |

The perception is that he will get you drafted high if you are an elite talent gets the recruits. Saban is a good coach, but couldn't get talent at MSU. I thought he said something like that himself, but i don't have a link. I remember it from somewhere. It's been said many times on the board that there aren't any differences between the admission requirements of the SEC and the B1G. S It seems that there is some bull poo going on there but there is no solid evidence for the claims. I think it has been shown throughout the recent history of college football that if there is something going on it will eventually be the downfall of the program(SMU, Miami, ect). It is in human nature to allow hubris and group think to blind people to consequenses. Just root for the good guys and don't let the SECism get to you. Michigan is moving in the right direction. |
| 41 weeks 3 days ago | Prayers for a speedy |
Prayers for a speedy recovery. Such a tradgedy. I don't blame anyone (coach or player) for leaving it all out on the field. Sometimes these things happen. You will be destroying them next year when you are even bigger, stronger, and faster. |
| 41 weeks 3 days ago | Right, I agree wholeheartedly |
Right, I agree wholeheartedly with that argument. I see it as one of 3 possibilities. 1) The better team is not as prepared as the weaker one and the result is an upset 2)Both Teams are equally prepared or unprepared and the probability of a victory is no different than the regular season in which both teams are fully prepared and efficient in their execution. 3)The weaker team is less prepared than the stronger, and gets manhandled more suverely than would have been predicted. I see that scheduling a highly ranked team for the first game has a high risk but also a high reward, and I see it as a case to schedule the best. While the probability that you loose it badly is high so is the probability of the upset. There is no better time to take on a better team. As you say the probability of an upset is high on the first game of the year. Additionally, you can still have a good season and get to the championship if you lose early in college football. So what do you have to lose scheduling the best teams? I'd like to see some huge upsets at the beginning of the year and get our players some action against the best competition in football so that they know where they have to get better. Also I think losing will leave a bad taste in their mouth and they will work even harder not to lose again. Then again, maybe i'm a sadist |
| 41 weeks 3 days ago | I don't understand why |
I don't understand why everyone thinks we need a warm up game to get a little practice. If we play a cupcake before a more difficult team they also get a warm up game the first week. So were both on the same footing no matter what. This isn't directed at anyone in particular. I've read several posts recently that express this opinion, and it doesn't make sense to me. If you think i'm dead wrong i'd like to hear why/how. My wishes --- Play the best to beat the best. I refuse to believe that hard work by our players will never pay off. Michigan will be champions again. 1) MAC 2)Alabama, Texas, Oaklahoma, etc. (not neutral sites) 3)ND' 4) 2nd tier Big East |

They should pull denard after the first quarter (assuming a decent lead) so he can heal. He is going to be sore for a while, and it seems that bellomy is next in the hole. He needs the experience. There is no telling how much garbage time he will get this season with our schedule.
Remember remember the first of september. |
| 46 weeks 4 days ago | The Founding (Warhammer 40k) |
I just finished The Founding. It is an omnibus of 3 novels in the warhammer universe written by Dan Abnett. He is an absolutely wonderful writer. The founding includes 3 books (First and Only, Ghostmaker, and Necropolis) that follow a regiment of soldiers and their enigmatic leader. The soldiers are the last survivors of a destroyed world who they fight the forces of Chaos for the God Emporer. There are at least 10 books in the series, and i have only finished 4 of them. I am currently on the second of 3 omnibuses (sp?) and i am having a hard time putting them down at night. I read till 1am every day. I used to go to sleep at a respectable 11pm. They are only 15 bucks at barnes and nobles. So they are easy on the wallet. |

I don't think Fat Tire is the best beer that New Belgium makes. I prefer most of their others like Trippel or Abbey more. On another note. I like oberon when in the midwest, but have found that it does not travel well to Phoenix. It usually tastes burnt so I don't get it. Two-Hearted and Hopslam (My Fav) are just as good here as in MI. Has anyone had the same experience with oberon?

While sleeping bear dunes is great. I don't think it can hold a candle to pictured rocks. I had the best camping trip of my life there. I need to hike it from end to end next time. That being said i cast my vote for the dunes. Need to help the states economy any way we can. |
| 1 year 49 weeks ago | I think this game shows their |
I think this game shows their confidence. They didn't just play man down for half the match. They played man down while controlling the game against arguebly the top, or previously thought top, team. They only allowed a few flashes from Brazil after going a man down, and the American women showed how much better their level of fitness was. There was no way Brazil deserved to win that game no matter how hard the refs tried to give it to them. This a superior performance that has to put them as the favorite from here on. On a side note, i'm very happy for Wambach. She has been in need of a good goal for the last few games. Way to go girls absolutely stunning performance.

At 6'7 he would probably hold that weight well. I think the scale at camp is better than the calibrated eyeball. However, that does seem to indicate that he isn't overloaded with excess fat...good weight. |
