That was the top. KFATA for sure! Bet.

To me this was the most SURPRISING play of the game, and it came at a critical moment.
There were other great plays from the RBs and defense for sure, but we've seen those amazing plays before.
My jaw was on the floor when this one happened!
November 12th, 2023 at 3:07 PM ^
Ridiculous OP. Kenny G was 340 about 9 pizzas ago. That’s 355 truckin.
November 12th, 2023 at 3:59 PM ^
The man can move! I wonder if UM has ever tried him at fullback?
November 12th, 2023 at 11:37 AM ^
For some reason, the GIF I made speeds up the video. Here's a link in game speed

My daughter wandered into the room for that play and went, "Wow," and wandered back out. I called after her that that might turn out to be the play of the game. TD and they're just down four? That's going at the head of his NFL recruiting highlight reel. What burst!
November 12th, 2023 at 12:03 PM ^
Makari Paige should thank him.
November 12th, 2023 at 1:19 PM ^
it was rod moore who whiffed not Paige
November 12th, 2023 at 12:07 PM ^
I said the exact same thing, in April 2025 when Grant gets drafted in the top 10 (Yay I believe before it is all said and done, he will be a Top 10 pick), this will be the 1st highlight they show.
Can't wait to see his UFR, he dominated this game...
November 12th, 2023 at 12:14 PM ^
It was amazing in person. The Penn State fans around me were asking me who that was. Very impressive.
November 12th, 2023 at 2:52 PM ^
TD and they're just down four?
You forgot the Frames factor.
November 12th, 2023 at 12:23 PM ^
Holy crap - it's more impressive than I thought during the game! I knew it showed speed, but I legit thought the missed Paige attempt slowed him down more than that. Haa!! He barely stuttered! Damn that big man is FAST!!!
November 12th, 2023 at 12:28 PM ^
He just made himself another $5M on draft day
November 12th, 2023 at 12:41 PM ^
I was thinking the same thing. He may have moved up a full round or even two with a single play.
November 12th, 2023 at 1:43 PM ^
Shoot, he's got time for a few more of those while at Michigan. His stock will continue to rise.
November 12th, 2023 at 12:36 PM ^
Told my football fan buddy at gym today that was my favorite play of the game. Truly Inspirational. He likes Michigan simply because they are good. Happens to be Syracuse fan. Fwiw, his response was that's the type of play that wins championships.

So funny that Allen tried to stiff arm Grant, but Grant's arms are just too long.
November 12th, 2023 at 2:16 PM ^
Because he saw outrunning him as futile... That boggles the mind.
November 12th, 2023 at 3:02 PM ^
He’s lucky he didn’t have Grant land on him or he’d have been watching the season in a body cast. It’s one thing to get tackled by a 340 lb moose. It’s quite another to have that monster tackle you running 22 mph.
November 12th, 2023 at 5:29 PM ^
That was the first thing I noticed, Allen is lucky he kept his arm. it didn't even slow KG.
November 12th, 2023 at 3:23 PM ^
The Big Man comes up BIG!
If we didn't know better from watching this play yesterday, I bet some might be thinking CGI.
November 12th, 2023 at 11:37 AM ^
Please put in the effort Kenneth put in

Are both him and Mason Graham not eligible to go to the draft after this year? As in we get another year of those two freaks?
November 12th, 2023 at 11:45 AM ^
They will be back.
November 12th, 2023 at 12:09 PM ^
God bless America
November 12th, 2023 at 11:38 AM ^
That was certainly one of them. Others included the calm way the defense reacted to their crazy 2-pt conversion and BC2’s 50 yard gallop.
November 12th, 2023 at 11:45 AM ^
One thing I found interesting on the 2 point try (besides the fact that it was idiotic) was that the defense recognized that the center was an eligible receiver and they pointed it out, which blew up the play. Allar had to throw to his secondary read.
That was excellent coaching and smart thinking by the players.
November 12th, 2023 at 12:11 PM ^
Really good - I had no idea
November 12th, 2023 at 12:14 PM ^
That was a great job by the defense, but I will also note that Michigan has that exact same play in their playbook (they used it in last year BIG TEN Championship game). So I am pretty sure the defense has rep'd against it in practice and thus have the formation downloaded...
But again, major props for adjusting correctly on the fly...
November 12th, 2023 at 12:15 PM ^
If michigan did that play, we would have been called for intent to deceive ala 2015 oregan state
November 12th, 2023 at 1:01 PM ^
That was against Rutgers.
November 12th, 2023 at 3:55 PM ^
Game Day was showing some plays that demonstrated the cleverness of a coach's formations (maybe Kiffin, not 100% sure?) and damned if they didn't show a play using that exact same "deception!"
Obviously not called a penalty, or they wouldn't have shown it.
Deception is in the eyes of the refs, I guess?
November 12th, 2023 at 12:49 PM ^
Call me crazy, but maybe the reason our guys know the opponent's plays is they work their asses off studying film and tendencies and are just better then them?
It was never the signs. It was our dudes.
November 12th, 2023 at 1:53 PM ^
All sheer bullshit because there isn't a sign on this planet that made 340 pound Kenneth Grant sprint downfield and rip that RB down from behind. It was straight ability and effort; an exact representation of our defense.
November 12th, 2023 at 2:19 PM ^
All of our down linemen stood over with the ineligible receivers on the 2-pt conversion. First one to recognize "WTF I don't need to stay here" and try to get in the play? Kenneth Grant.
November 12th, 2023 at 5:14 PM ^
I read where Kenneth Grant is the new Michael Barrett.
November 12th, 2023 at 4:18 PM ^
They stole Penn State's sign for this play. The sign is a picture of a babooon's red ass, a plus sign, and then a picture of Lorraine Bobbitt.
November 12th, 2023 at 11:39 AM ^
Both of the (relatively) long touchdown runs- Donovan Edwards' to make it 14-3, and then Blake's to put the game away in thr 4th quarter, were -incredibly- cathartic.
Speaking of Edwards, Patrick Barron got an all-time picture of him leaving a Penn State defender in the dust with his shoe in his hand. I'm sure this will wind up in the photos from the game post in a few hours, but for an early look:

This. Is. Just. AWESOME! What a great shot - the closeup on the PSU guy, the look on his face is priceless!
This will become a meme...

PSU players on the ground have always been incredibly photogenic.
November 12th, 2023 at 12:30 PM ^
Looking at Keegan hustling down the field after Edwards, it's clear that all M's lineman are conditioned to hustle and get after it. Nobody's taking a play off. That's how you win!
November 12th, 2023 at 1:24 PM ^
Earlier this season there was a play where Barnhart laid a lick 25 yards downfield - I told my sister "that's why Michigan's line is so good - relentless hustle and effort."
Grant's play was even more impressive.
Michigan's coaching is off the charts - and these players have embraced it.
Play of the game - and absolutely it's a single play that will make Grant millions in his first NFL contract.
Plays like this are what can make football such a beautiful game.
Go Blue! Go Grant!
